Best AC on the market FOR THE MONEY!
This Panasonic AC is the quietest AC I have ever owned! A FAN IS LOUDER! Thermostat is a digital readout so "you can set it and forget it!" Best value in any AC I have seen.

Very quiet
I've got this item from Amazon last Saturday. Weather didn't let me check the cooling efficiency of this unit, but i plugged it in anyway, ran for some time, and found out this unit is very quiet. I have another AC similar capacity (LG 5050 BTU), Panasonic runs obviously quieter. In "cool" mode on the highest fan speed it's atill runs quieter than my window double fan.

Works well, quieter than most
The previous reviewer "x.ma" is apparently not knowledgeable about the new generation of ACs.Ever since the gov't banned the use of Freon, all the new ACs (home, car, etc.) have lower cooling capability than the older Freon ACs.It has something to do with the cooling agent the new ones use.Some manufacturers are better at making ACs than others.I have several Panasonic ACs and they all perform great.This 5,200BTU unit works very well in my small kitchen, but I definitely would recommend a bigger one for a living room (10,000BTU) or a typical bedroom (8,000BTU).

From Miserable to Bearable
After going without power for three days after Hurricane Charley and five days from hurricane Frances I decided to purchase a window air conditioner as "comfort insurance."I was able to buy this unit at clearance price of $129.99 with free shipping and a $20 off promo from Amazon.$109.99 delivered, thanks Amazon!
Amazon is HORRIBLE!!!
I tried to buy this item at Amazon's clearance price with their credit card and couldn't do it so I left the item in my shopping cart.When I called their customer support number (1-800-201-7575, which is hard to find on their website) for a second time to check up on the problem, they ran out of the item and couldn't sell me one for the $129.99 price they advertised.I have to "Check back once in a while to see if the product is back in stock".After arguing for a while on the phone, the only thing they could do for me was "lock the $129.99 price, IF the item comes back into stock".It's so sad that they can't even send me an email to buy a product from them IF it comes back into stock!!!As a business owner, I can't believe that a company like Amazon.com can't provide decent customer service or satisfaction!!!Awful, awful, awful!!! ... Great unit, cool and quiet
I've had this for a year now, and it works great.Very quiet and really cools off the room in a hurry. I also got a higher power one for the kitchen.The timer function is great for coming home to a cool house.

Quiet and Cool...
I live in Hawaii where the humidity is high and the temperature is quite warm.Some of us here run our units all day.A quality unit is absolutely required.I already own a Panasonic 11,800 btu model, but needed a smaller unit for living/kit.This model is extremely quiet like all panasonic ac's living up to it's reputation as a great bedroom unit.The front panel is not "cheapy" looking like other brands with mechanical controls.Assembly was simple enough.....remote works great....Cools rooms efficiently according to max specs 10 x 30 or 300 cubic feet.It is worth the extra $50-60 compared to other brands which are less efficient, and not as quiet.

We purchased this air-conditioner a month ago and feel it really lives up to its' reputation.It works great and IS VERY quiet.I was aware that to window mount might be a B----H but we didn't go there.We had ours wall mounted and had no problems at all.It seems to cool down a much larger area than it advertizes.It beat my expectations and the remote control is awesome!I think Panasonic did a good job and I would purchase it again.I checked a lot of reviews before we purchased and for the price (Amazon's) and the ratings, we made a good purchase. ... I too was disapointed not to see the EER rating listed on amazon. fore those of you who dont now about EER(energy efficancy rating). Basically its a ratio of engery consumed to BTUs. basicly you want the highest number of btus but dont want to buy stock in the power company that the same time.consumer reports recomends a EER ratign for a 5000-6000 btu above 8. 9-10 would be better.
What's the EER rating?

This is an excellent unit. I have 3 of them. They are attractive, durable, powerful and quiet. For me, one unit is strong enough to cool the kitchen, dining room and half of the living room.
