Whip It!
The Best (Manufacturer's Inc.) 14-Inch Balloon Whip with Wood Handle is an excellent addition to any collection of essential kitchen utensils. While I would usually advise someone to "try out" the feel of a whip, whisk, or chef's knife before purchase, I can say that I recommend this balloon whip because I own one. (However, mine is a Best all stainless steel one.) I had a 12-Inch French balloon whip with a wood handle (not made by Best), but the handle became detached from the whip after only a few uses. Best makes excellent quality products, and this wood handle is expoxied, so I would not be concerned about any defects. What is so wonderful about this whip is that you can put it in the dishwasher (top shelf), so there would be no fear of salmonella or other bacterial residue. I use this whip with an unlined copper bowl to whip up egg whites for Belgian waffles and souffl�s. Highly recommended! ... Read more

Ok
The wires on this wisk are too far apart for mixing shallow quantities. OK for deep mixing, though.

Great Tool!
Oh, how I LOVE this wisk!As the previous reviewer said, this one doesn't have that nasty little round thing at the top that does nothing but rust and get dirty.This guy really stands the test of a two-year-old running around and banging it on anything he sees.It's so much heavier and nicer than any other wisk I've ever used and it's just a fantastic purchase. Don't be afraid to buy this one - if a two-year-old can beat it up almost daily, then it's definitely worth the money.

Very sturdy and practical every-day tool.I use mine primarily for eggs and sauces and I can say that it blends quickly and smoothly with very little effort, and I like being able to whisk directly in the pot right on the stove.Clean-up is also very easy and I even toss it in the dishwasher with no problem.Read more

never scorch a custard
We've gotten into homemade custard-based ice cream and that means careful stirring to make sure nothing sticks to the bottom of the pot. The design of the working end of the whisk allows the head to reach every bit of the pot but without my having to twist my stirring arm into a knot. Made in China???
I can't believe after buying Rosle tools for years that the whisk I just got yeasterday is not made in Germany but China. On the label on the whisk it says China and yet in the review it says twice "Made in Germany".Is anything by Rosle made in Germany anymore?

Beautiful whisk!
After spending several months comparing the WMF and the Rosle whisk, I went ahead and bought the Rosle.Yes, it is much more expensive than the WMF.The whisk works fine.The Rosle is much more substantial, aesthetic pleasing, better workmanship and higher in quality although both are made of 18/10 stainless steel.I love the Rosle's hanging ring, it is just GORGEOUS! This is a high quality product for a low price. Sturdy construction, quality materials, and multi-function. It is the perfect tool for mixing a fragile sauce, emulsifying salad dressings, and mixing small amounts of ingredients. DO NOT buy a whip for whipping cream and egg whites.
