Filter is great, but not worth spraying your sink over...
My wife and I bought this Pur Filter and installed it yesterday.One thing we immediately noticed was that when we attached it to our faucet, the water stream was no longer a smooth stream into the sink like it used to be... now it was a full-on spray.It's a real inconvenience to try to run water over a spoon or into a glass for washing when you need pressure and your stream is spraying all over your hands and sink.I haven't read any other reviews where anyone else has had this problem, so we're going to take this model back and exchange it for an upgraded model.Maybe we can chalk this one up to bad luck, but I would definitely not buy this one again.

chrome is better!!
chrome is better!! REAL CHROME!!! If color doesn't matter for you, white is also good. Drink tastes the best! I brought for $18.48 including shipping with two filters for the white Pur Ultimate Faucet Mounted Horizontal Filtration System and $20.49 is for the chrome one. It was a BIG sale! Chrome is way better!!
Maybe a little too expensive
I bought this filter two weeks ago, and I really like it.I did notice a difference in the smell and taste of my water (although almost imperceptible).I just wanted the water cleaned, as I drink a ton of it.The main complaint is that it did in fact leak. I used a little pipe-threading tape, and now it just barely drips.The other problem is how slow it comes out of the filter-- 5 or more minutes to fill a 2 gal. jug.That's a minor point.Finally, I kind of wonder if $20-$30 for the filters might not be a little extreme.Nevertheless, if you understand the real price, and get someone to install it, I would recommend it. ... Finding Filters is definitely a problem
Similar to other reviews, I have had trouble finding filters. I also own a Krups Mocha Brew and they use a Size 1 round filter which is only avaiable online for $5/ box of 100 plus shipping and handling.This is a lousy way for Krups to do business, not making filters widely available. It would deter me from future purchases.

These filters are a great idea
I believe that the reason why some people are having difficulty finding these filters is because the coffe makers, Crystal arome (model #398) and Crystal arome time (model #458) have been discontinued, these filters fit those models.But as someone else has mentioned you can buy the filters on-line.Simple solution. Where are you people looking for filters?
I am not sure where these people are looking for filters. Generally, I find they are available through higher end retailers like Macy's and Bed Bath n Beyond. Here is a little secret. Owned one for years
I love my water filter.I live in Los Angeles, needless to say the city water here really needs some extra filtration.I think that this filter does the trick.I like the fact that it has the ten layers of stuff to filter all of the impuritites out, that it hooks right up to my kitchen Faucet is also a bonus. The water definitely tastes different out of the filter and if you're not a family of 4 it lasts longer than a year as well.The cost definitely beats buying the replacements filters for a pitcher all the time and I get more filtration.Also,It's always right there when I need it and there's no carrying a heavy, cumbersome pitcher from the fridge to the sink every day.

There is NO Certification on this Replacement FILTER
There is no certification on this or the original filter. Ten stages, twenty stages or 100 stages. I am glad that people drink more water by just using a filter good or bad. I would not reccommend this unless it gets certification.

Clean Water Finally!
I have been purchasing water at my supermarket and was spending more than $30 a month! Aquasana -ruin your kitchen for only 129.00
This unit leaks. If you install it under your sink it will surely leak and ruin the cabinets. The management of Sun Water Systems will then only tell you that it is your fault, you have bad water, or some other ridiculous comment. In reality the plastic filter housing is cheap, the threads break, the O-ring is insufficient in size to seal the unit, and the actual water quality is questionable, as evidenced by the solid scale that builds up around the faucet and the water test that produced the same results from unfiltered city water as the filtered water from the under sink unit. Bad choice for us. We invested in a RO unit with a local service team, higher specs and a proven track record of reliability. We now have to replace our sink cabinet from the damage...

Aquasana AQ-4000 is good, but SEVERELY restricts tap water flow!
Most ALL modern kitchen (bath, shower...) faucets/aerators..., have a "!removable!" plastic water use restrictor washer (govt. regulation!), that has a SMALL 3/16"... hole. This is good for ecology...
Aquasana 4000 Undercounter Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System
Two seperate boxes. Easy to install. Low presure lines and fittings seem a bit flimsy but the lines haven't leaked and the system works fine. I live in a beach town and like most beach towns, our tap water is horrible, full of chlorine and who knows what else. The filtered water tastes better that any bottled water I've used. Great water, good price
Water from this filter tastes great.Installation is simple.Replacement filters are cheap (just bought one for 30 bucks).This works much better than your standard PUR or Brita IMO.Another good feature is the separate spout.If you have a shallow sink this is a must.You can get a glass of water even if your sink is full of dirty dishes. :) ... bad product!
Okay - there's something wrong with Brita filters. They don't always fit into the pitchers - when I tilt the pitcher I can hear the filter shifting inside - and yes, I am aligning it properly. It may filter out impurities contained in the tap water, but only to replace them with thick black carbon particles. I've followed all the instructions and replace the filters every second month, but darned if there isn't a problem with every single one! Don't buy this - look for another alternative! ... Read more

Great tasting water and affordable
The Culligan 2650 was easy to install; I installed it within 20 minutes, provided the hole on my sink was already there for the faucet. The instructions walked me through everything, even have detailed instructions via pictures for the lazy reader. Comes with an ergonomic long reach faucet. The new design on the lead free faucet looks almost like the ones they have in Lowe's for $50. Filter unit warnes user with audible beeps and LED lights to indicate when filter needs changing (uses a 9V battery, included). So far, this is the only unit that I know that removes MTBE's, VOC's, and more at a low cost of $32 per filter cartridge replacement set (500 gallon filter life, Pentek brand name at filterpros.com). I avoided Lowe's and Home Depot water filters b/c they use proprietary filters, forcing consumer to buy expensive filter cartridges. All other pressure fed water filters I know use $40+ filter cartridges (i.e. Aquasana). I switched to the under sink filter b/c my Pur faucet head filter keeps leaking, and I got sick of replacing them after the third time. Great Faucet Filter System
I purchased this in lieu of a pitcher system. It is easy to install and the LED indicator for the filter is fantastic. No guessing when the filter needs to be replaced. I have not used other faucet filtering systems, but this one is easy to install and makes NYC water taste better. I have been using this filter for 8 months now without any problems.

It didn't last long
While the water tasted better, this model didn't last for more than about two months before leaking and eventually spraying water all over the place.

The water tastes better
Just so you know, this filter isn't stainless steel, it's brushed plastic that looks like stainless steel. When I installed it the unit's adapter leaked constantly and I couldn't tighten it up enough to stop it. I returned it after that and exchanged it for the same model in "chrome" which is a few dollars cheaper but otherwise exactly the same unit. It still leaks a bit but my water tastes better now and doesn't have as much of a chlorine smell as it used to. There's still a trace of piped water taste but at least I feel better about drinking it knowing that most of the contaminants are filtered out. It's a great idea for temporary installations but is not as good as an undersink water filter. It's a little bulky for the faucet so it interferes with dishwashing and I miss my swivelling aerator which can't be attatched now. An undersink filter with spigot would serve much better for long term installations. All in all it's good for the price and the electronic filter life indicator is pretty neat!
