The high-tech Advantage filter combines activated carbon with an ion exchange resin to reduce chlorine, sediment, off tastes, and odors as well as cancer-causing chemicals, pesticides, and heavy metals like copper and lead, all while leaving plaque-fighting fluoride in place. Changes Taste, Still Bad Water
This filter doesn't even adequately remove chlorine, but simply passes the water through a charcoal filter, leaving it the majority of garbage most people want to remove. PUR should work to remove chlorine, flouride and all the other junk in our drinking supply. Flouride only makes bones brittle, it doesn't fortify like calcium.
Look for a better pitcher
I have owned the PUR Ultimate for over a year and am very pleased with it, so when it came time to find another water filter for the office, I again turned to PUR.This time I chose the Advantage instead of the Ultimate due to its smaller profile.I assumed that I would again be pleased, but instead I am very disappointed.

The water spots on the chrome parts are hard to polish.
If you're interested in the Chrome model to match your stainless steel appliances be prepared to constantly polish it due to the water spots. My friend owns one and at first I was envious, but now I rather be less fashionable than freak out over the visible water spots. This model has the same shape as the Riviera and as I stated in my other review althought it is ergonomic, the Riviera collects algae on the bottom of the pitcher so I would be skeptical in buying this one.
