5-0 out of 5 stars perfect for a lady
perfect little knife for opening your packages from shopping online! the Scisors are perfect for cutting coupons (joking) and the nail file in case that snaggle broken nail keeps bugging you, tooth pick and tweezers are also handy. This is cute and functional. this is not baby pink like the picture shows its more of a bright neon pink.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
I love this knife; I use it nearly everyday. It fits on my keychain without weighting it down and all of the tools work very well.If I'm not using it myself, someone else is borrowing it. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Very sturdy, too thick, not so sharp
For the current price (four bucks) these are a good deal. Just don't expect them to be very sharp. The blades are unusually large and unusually thick. This makes them strong, but not sharp.

5-0 out of 5 stars sturdy knives
These knives were $3.99 and i bought them with a $25 dollars off with purchase of $125 promotion, as an afterthought.I really like them because the blades are thick and very sharp, and the quality is very good.i used one of them to open boxes today, no problem.i don't agree that the knives are flimsy, as one reviewer stated.although the handles are plastic and colorful, they are a much better quality than many plastic handled knives i've seen. AND, again, at less than $4, who can beat that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice Knives!
So sharp I cut myself the first time I used them ... I must have been thinking of my OLD knives that I passed along to someone else. This little set was such a good buy!I am quite impressed and didn't think I would like the colored handles... I do!It is very easy to pull them out of the block and know which knife it is because of the color.Granted, they don't match my wooden Chicago Cutlery set, but the quality is still there!I liked them so much I bought TWO sets. You can't go wrong @ 3.99 for FOUR knives!A+ in my book. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Nothing China about this knife
Victorinox swiss army knives are not made in China..
5-0 out of 5 stars Swiss Made in China?
I just purchased this item and I have not found anywhere on the package or on the knive itself that the product is Swiss Made.
5-0 out of 5 stars this knife is sick
I got this knife the other day and was really surprised at how sharp it is.I like that the blade locks because I feel so much safer when a blade can't close on my hand. The one thing I dont really like about this knife is the way that it is surrated. Most knifes are surrated at the end closest to the handle but this one has the tip surrated instead. It really does not make much of a difference I just found it to be different than a many of the other knives that i have bought ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Does not have a knife blade?
This is a good multitool except for one thing. It does not have a regular knife blade! I was shocked when I received it and could not find a regular pointed knife blade. There is a serated knife blade. But it is rounded at the end.

4-0 out of 5 stars Backpackers look elsewhere..
This is a high quality tool. The fit, finish and action are very impressive. It would be perfect for the handyman, tradesman or anyone that doesn't care about bulk or weight. I especially like the locking feature for the tools. Because it's such a nice tool, I plan on keeping it. It will likely last for many years with minimal care. Having said that, it's probably not for the backpackers out there. The pictures don't capture how large and heavy this tool is relative to most other multi-tools and most swiss army knives. So if you're a backpacker who watches every ounce, there are better alternatives.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best multi-tools out there.
I've been on a quest for the best multi-tool for years.Over the last twenty I've had leathermen, SOGs, Schrades, Gerbers, swiss army knives and more.In this review I will put the Spirit up against the Leatherman Charge Ti and the Gerber Legend 800 - what I consider the primary competitors for best multi-tool on the planet at the moment.I owned the Gerber Legend 800 from 2002-2004 - and lost it when the cheesy nylon case broke.I owned the Charge Ti from 2005-2006 and recently had it stolen or lost in my living room by either my kids or a houseguest when I left it out over a vacation week.I got the Victorinox Spirit to tide me over until I found the Charge Ti.As the months pass I'm pretty happy with the Victorinox and can live with the fact this might be a permanent arrangement. I've had it for 3 months now and it has answered every call.

3-0 out of 5 stars They forgot how to make a nail file
I've had Swiss Army knives in the past that had super fingernail files on them. This one will not file anything.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the one to have...
...if like me and Mcgyver you find that a versatile tool always available can make a quick fix around the office, campground, on multi day river trips ,or whenever .People who know me are always calling on "McGyver" to come to their rescue with this tool!! I have had to just order a 3rd one due to loss or theft of previous ones because without this knife I almost feel naked and powerless!Have carried this model for countless years and use it practilly daily.

5-0 out of 5 stars A well thought out selection of tools on this model
The Ranger is with one exception, the same exact knife model that has been sent up for 20 years on Space shuttle missions as NASA issue. That difference is it has a corkscrew, replacing the phillips screwdriver in the same location on the knife, all other things are the same. They called the model with the phillips "Master Craftsman" and is no longer made.

5-0 out of 5 stars Victorinox Deluxe Tinker
I've used SAK's since I was a child and I give them as gifts when ever I can. This model is the most functional of all of them.It is easy to carry, has all of the primary tools you will use, and it functions well in most situations. If you don't mind carrying a belt pouch knife, the Swiss Champ XLT is the ultimate of the breed but can be over the top for most people. This one carries well and covers a broad range of uses. The knife has an excellent warrenty and the spare parts and user replacable items are readily available.SAK even has a version called "My First Swiss Army Knife" for youngsters just learning how to carry and use a working knife.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the breed
Of all the SAK's out there, the Deluxe Tinker is my favorite. It's small enough to comfortably stay in your pocket (instead of those side pouches many of the larger models require), and every single tool in the collection is useable. While I own eight different Swiss Army Knives, this is the one I constantly grab when it's time to go. The only problem I had with it is the scissors. The small metal piece that pushes the blades apart got twisted once when I let someone borrow my knife (never again) and I could never get it to work right after that. I recently purchased my second to let my first retire after several long years of rugged use. If not for the scissors getting messed up, I'd still be using it today. After years of daily use, it's still good. The blades have had to be sharpened and there are a few chips out of the red cover, but I have no complaints with the quality. It holds up to hard usage.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great combo tool for any real geek!
I normally carry a pocket knife and a USB flas drive this allows me to only carry one item. It has scissors, a knife blade, standard screw driver blade, a pen, and a led light. This is a very handy tool. You may even remove the USB flash drive to take on a flight.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great "man" gift!
I got this as a gift for my husband and he loves it! and I think with the new flight regulations it is ok to take on a plane (blade is less than 3"). The memory stick works perfectly and so do all the other tools on the knife. Could be a little cheaper, but not bad at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best USB device I've ever owned!
This usb device was given to me, and I am thouroughly impressed. I probably would have never purchased it on my own, figuring that a Swiss Army USB drive would be inferior to other well established companies.

High-tech from tip to handle, Global knives from Japan createda sensation when they burst onto the world's culinary stage as analternative to traditional European-style cutlery. Blades are made ofhard molybdenum/vanadium stainless steel and "face-ground" with a longtaper, rather than a short bevel, so edges remain sharp longer thaneven the best high-carbon stainless-steel knives. Edges also are groundat a more acute angle than traditional European-style knives and arrivefrom the factory razor sharp. Although Global's original knives havethinner blades and are lighter than traditional European-style knives,Global also makes a European-style heavyweight line for cooks whoprefer hefty cutlery—-such as this 4-1/2-inch utility knife. Globalalso dispensed with bolsters on most of its knives, including this one. Most Global knives have hollow handles, but the handle on this knife issolid.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A good knife, but not perfect
I ordered this knife in order to determine whether a larger set of Global knives was in my future.Although it's a nice knife, it's not something I feel a need to own more of. I'm an avid cook, but it comes out of my spare time, so I'm looking for comfortable knives that are easy to use and clean; this one isn't as comfortable as I'd like.
5-0 out of 5 stars The finest paring knife you can aquire
I have been an avid amateur cook for 25 years and have worked with a wide variety of kitchen tools during that period. Knives that I have utilized range from the "cheap but effective" to the finest products from Henckels. But the knives I use daily are the Globals', and the one that I cannot be without is this one. Although it is designated by the manufacturer as a Utility knife, it is simply the best paring knife I have ever used, and I've gone through a lot of them. Its razor sharpness is easily maintained, it has a perfect heft and balance, and it is exactly the "right" size and shape. It just feels great. Sorry if I sound so effusive -- I am not connected with the Global Corporation in any way -- but I would recommend this knife to any serious cook who has exacting standards in kitchenware. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Less Functionality; More Class
This model Swiss Army knife is really all about class. The utility of the knife is good, but basically standard issue great. It only has the blades, a reamer, can opener/bottle opener, screw driver, etc.See the description above.
4-0 out of 5 stars Some negatives for an almost perfect multitool.
I agree that this simple, elegant design is probably one of the best Swiss Army Knives out there.Unfortunately it's missing tweezers!I can't tell you how useful they are with splinters.

The actual mezzaluna is a very good piece for many uses. The cutting bowl is a nice touch but not very practical.Mezzaluna works better with a regular cutting bowl.Overall a very good product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for
This looks like it's going to be a much used and loved item for making salads and cooking with herbs. I find the solidly built quality excellent and the size and weight of it just right. I'm glad the bowl in the wooden block is large enough to accomodate lots of herbs and that there are little "feet" on the bottom so it won't slip around. Can't wait to grow some more herbs this summer for mincing up. The knife and board also are quite a work of art in their own right.

This invaluable two-piece set contains two of the most-used knives in the kitchen: a three-inch parer, for cleaning, peeling, removing blemishes on fruits and vegetables, and other delicate tasks; and a five-inch boning/utility knife, for trimming fat, de-boning chicken, cutting sandwiches, and other small- to medium-scaled cutting jobs. As a part of Chicago Cutlery’s Walnut Tradition line of cutlery, these knives combine high performance with excellent value. Stamped rather than forged for lighter weight and a more reasonable price, they’re made from high-carbon, 420 stainless steel with carbon to keep edges sharper longer and chromium to resist rust and stains, while Chicago’s exclusive Taper Grind edge produces impressively precise slices and retains its sharpness well over time. A full tang extends from the tip of each knife to the end of the handle for improved balance and strength. Comfortable walnut handles offer the rich warmth of wood and a classic look; they’re securely held to the blade with triple-compression brass rivets for added safety and stability. Chicago Cutlery covers their knives with a lifetime guarantee; they recommend hand-washing and drying for best results. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great cheap knives
I have a few of the Chicago Cutlery knives: this utility knife, a boning knife, a bread knife, and a slicing knife. They're great for what they are--cheap, comfortable, and very sharp. And the soft blade is extremely easy to steel and sharpen.
5-0 out of 5 stars You can'b beat the value
I have used these knives primarily for processing my own deer. Growing up my dad had the same old classic chicago cutlery knifes, and when I moved out and processed deer on my own I needed to buy some knives. So I bought the very same ones... For the price and some good work on a knife sharpener like a Lansky, these suckers can be as sharp as a knife costing more like 10X more. I primarily use these two knifes plus the longer utility knife for butchering many many deer. They might not hold an edge as long as the more expensive ones but when you do alot of work your going to be sharpening them often anyway. Value wise these have got to be the best bang for the buck. I have never had one rust, or anything happen to the edge that couldnt be fixed by a few minutes on the Lansky. The only small complaint I have is that I am lazy and the walnut handles should not be washed in the dishwasher or they will 'weather' rather quickly, so I have to hand wash them. I really like the look of the new all stainless steel handles but I am not sure if the blade profile is the same and I would actually rather keep the old blades with new handles even if I spent over $100 on a new set, just would like the stainless steel handles so I could dishwasher them. Did I mention I like these knives?

I have carried a Spartan since I got one as an anniversary present in 1967.Some I have lost, a few I gave to friends, and one I vaporized a screwdriver blade by a stupid action I won't describe here.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very nice knife
I suspect if I was a professional chef I would know the difference and buy the super expensive other brands, but for a recreational cook I find these knives to be supurb. The price is right, the balance and heft is great, and they hold a fine edge.I usually run them through a hand sharpener before I use them, and they are always razor sharp. To restore edges (I haven't had to do that yet with these knives) I use the "scary sharp" sandpaper on glass method.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent knife
My grandparents always had quality knives when I was growing up.As I stocked my own kitchen, I searched for the best quality I could afford.I've tried Henkels and Chicago and both were disappointing.I bought this knife and was so impressed that I bought another and also bought one for my mother. It is superb in quality and comfort.I prefer the traditional handle over the contemporary handle.I put this knife in the diswasher and have had no problem with the handle.Great buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent choice
Recently, I picked up this knife on sale at a local store and was very pleased with the quality and value it affords.I have long been a fan of Calphalon cookware and my impression now is that this same quality extends to their cutlery line as well. The blade was pretty sharp right out of the package, and with just a bit of work it was very sharp. The size and heft of this knife are very comfortable in my hand, and I find myself selecting this one from the knife drawer whenever I have a kitchen task where a full sized chef's knife would be overkill.I highly recommend this purchase! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very handy
I've had this little guy for over a year now and I love it.I love having these useful items handy at all times. The drive detaches so if you need that part on the plane you can just stick it in your pocket. The only thing I would do different is get a larger drive but the 128MB is good for most things.

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly tough
I went swimming this morning and forgot to take this knife out of my pocket.I swam for a good 30 minutes with the knife completely submerged in salt water.I assumed it was ruined.
5-0 out of 5 stars Traveling with this device
A couple of the reviewers mentioned that you cannot carry-on this item with you on planes, and yes, this is true of any "knife" post 9/11.However, you can put this device (and any other pocket knife for that matter) into CHECKED luggage.I've taken this item with me inside my checked luggage through many airports without problem. ... Editorial Review

The 5-inch blade on this knife features slightly curved surfaces on both the back and the cutting edge, terminating in a wide point. The serrated edge is perfect for cutting and slicing soft products that have a firm skin, as this type of blade penetrates more easily than one with a smooth edge. This medium-size knife makes a handy and versatile kitchen tool for cooks of any ilk. Most of the Henckels lines--including the popular Four Star series--feature blades made of Friodur, a special, ice-hardened, no-stain steel created and patented by the company in 1939. This special formula was designed for exceptional hardness and high resistance to corrosion.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I always reach for these
I can't say enough about these knifes. The color coded handles really help to grap the correct knike for the job. They are really sharp and keep their edge. I've had mine for about three years and I use these everyday. My husband always wants to know why I reach for these instead of my more expensive name brand set, but I really like these better. I wish they made a set of larger knifes in the same design ( color coded handles ), I'd be first in line to buy them. Fantastic value for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars bd
Great value. The knives are very sharp and easy to care for.The various colored handles make it so easy to reach for the tool you need quickly.Since the knives are stored in their own block on the counter, I find I reach for these tools rather than opening the untensil drawer and grabbing the tools I had previously used for years.I generally like a clear, functional counterspace, however, these knives use such a small amount of space and are used several times daily. The block is a neat and safe way to store them and keep them handy. The overall design actually adds a little something to the space. This was an easy fit.We didn't have to get used to the new tools. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very beautiful, light and useful.
It's really light and small. The lamp is a great idea. The ruby color is really beautiful.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another great Swiss Army knife
While I love this knife, I have got one gripe about it. The light is cool, and it's relatively easy to replace the battery, but if you keep this in your pocket you're probably going to be turning it on accidentally and running that battery down. Wish they'd made some way to lock the light off while you're not using it. Still, the translucent look is a nice touch, and there are a lot of useful tools on here. Another nice feature is the fact that it's not too big to fit in your pocket (though it's pushing it just a little). A good choice for the most part.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best just got better!
The Huntsman was always my favorite Victorinox knife. This knife just seemed to strike a near perfect balance of overall size versus a useful assortment of tools. So I was delighted to discover the Huntsman Lite, which added a LED light, ballpoint pen and a straight pin to an already outstanding knife! How could you go wrong? ... Read more
