Great Value!
Great little toaster ... especially for the price. Manufacturer seems to have fixed tipping problem by adding another foot to the front of the unit. Mine never tips over, even when pushing down with great force.

This toaster is easy to use and toasts very well small and medium slices. I haven't had any issues with it and I think that it is very well designed and manufactured. Overall it is one of the products that I often use and the result is very good. Recommended.

Nice for the price
This is a nice toaster for the price.There are three things I don't like about it.1.It doesn't toast wide slices of bread easily. 2. It has no crumb tray; you just have to dump the built-up crumbs. 3. It's hard to get the toast out--probably because of the type of bread I use. I'm a specialty bread user; I buy the Old World type breads rather than the mechanized American variety. Horrible Product

So convenient & idiot-proof; my favorite kitchen appliance!
I was a bit skeptical when I read all the rave reviews for this toaster. All 100+ reviews sounded too good to be true. But the reviewers weren't lying.I don't know how to cook anything other than instant noodles & microwave dinners. But I managed to use this toaster to make my own "Egg McMuffin" in just a few minutes! You can't imagine the self-satisfaction I got from that. I couldn't even make an egg before without difficulty, but now I can easily accomplish that with this toaster. I'm also not much of a housekeeper, but cleaning up was a breeze. Just wash the 3 small trays and wipe the heating/water tray with a paper towel soaked in some white vinegar. I would have to waste a lot more time & wash a lot more stuff to make the same thing without this toaster, not to mention I don't actually have the skills to make it without this thing.

Just what I wanted and MORE
After reading all the reviews, doing research, and agonizing over whether to buy this model or not, I took the plunge - and I am glad I did. I love this toaster. I've experienced none of the problems that I have read about in these reviews. In spite of its size (not that bad actually) and lack of color choices, I would buy this model all over again.

a toaster that works
After reading about this toaster in the Wall Street Journal, I just had to give it a try.I've had several toasters over the years that never really made that perfect piece of toast.This one is truely the cadillac of toasters and I finally get my perfect toast.

Have owned it now for 3 weeks with no problem. My last toaster from a different manufacturer stopped working on one side after 2 weeks. Best part is the lever which raises the hot bread up so you can reach it easier. I like toast dark, and most controls even at the extreme dark setting leave toast only slightly dark. The 10 setting on this really toasts dark.

burns toast
This toaster at the lowest setting of 1 burns my toast.It also burned one side of a frozen bagel when I put it on defrost.

We love our shiny white Cuisinart Toaster.It's definitely worth the [...] we spent -- a real bargain!We love that it toasts so much quicker and more evenly than the toaster oven we've been tolerating for the past several years.One minor drawback: my husband called me in to show me how the rye bread he was toasting was just a little too long for the slots.We don't see this as a huge deal, though.The bagel and defrost settings are great.I especially like the cool-touch feature -- no one gets burned if they need to handle this toaster immediately after using it.

I would not buy anoter one of these toster ovens
We had this toaster oven for about 30 days and the half of the heating elements when bad.It never did seem to do a great job toasting.The toaster oven part is small which is ok if you can live with that.I do like the idea of having a toaster and toaster oven in one though!

Worst toaster I ever owned
On the highest toast setting, I have to push the lever down at least 4 times to get bread even slightly browned.All it does is heat the bread.I've been unable to cancel toasting, resorting to pulling the plug.The mechanism that holds the bread leaves too much room on the side and the bread falls into the oven.For a toaster that gives off a lot of heat, it unfortunately doesn't direct it at the bread.If I hadn't lost my receipt, I would have returned it immediately.

Bought this for my daughter who has limited counter space.
She wanted a toaster oven that didn't take up much room and was surprised when she saw it was nice and compact (and good looking)and that bagels or bread could be toasted in the top slots. You can have my little silver flash bake oven when you pry it from my cold dead fingers.
I use this oven for cooking everything, daily, multiple times. I love it, I don't know what I'd do without it. It's safe to say I'm maniacly co-dependent with my little silver buddy here. My wife is even addicted now after seeing what all the fuss is about. She mocks me no longer. I used the regular oven to cook an oversized pizza yesterday, once out of the past 6 months, but not first without considering the possibility of cutting the pizza with scissors into smaller chunks to allow fitting into my beloved flash oven. It came out crappy, cold in the middle, and took over 20 minutes. I'll have to buy smaller pizzas from now on, I'll never cheat on my little baby again. I swear.

Just What I Was Looking For
The lever that allows you to move the toasted item to the top is excellent for teaching an older child how to use a toaster without having them try to get out the toast while it is burning hot. The stay cool sides is an excellent safety feature as well.Although it looks like something that would be complicated, it is very basic and works very well.No Rocket Science involved ~ makes a nice piece of toast and looks good in the kitchen.

Krups: Quality Control Issues?
Hi, I usually don't complain about the products that I buy because I consider myself a savvy consumer, but in this instance I was dubbed big time! A few years ago, we received aKrups coffee maker as a wedding gift and we love it! However, this particular toaster rarely worked. In fact, I would say that 85% time it would either not toast or would "flip" the toast prematurely e.g. 5 second or less. I have no idea if this is afluck in quality control or not, but I highly recommend buying adifferent toaster. I know, I thought, Krups makes a toaster? Wow, I'll buy it, after all how hard can it be for a German company to manufacture functional a toaster? Well, evidently, they have issues.

Our favorite toaster
We received this toaster as a gift, quite unexpected, but to our delight, much needed.The best features are the fact that it really is a bagel size slot, so your favorite thick slices of homemade bread really fit, and come out easily.Also, there is a dial of toastedness that truly is accurate.And a "cancel" button, so you don't have to jam the handle when you want your toast earlier than the toaster is ready to give it up.You just press the button and it pops up.All good qualities.Very pleased with it.

Worst Toaster Ever
When our wonderful Cuisanart four-slice toaster finally died, we replaced it with this horrible piece of junk, because it seemed most similar to the old one.What a mistake!
This is one lousy toaster!
The toast was black on setting 4, black and dark tan on setting 3, and dark tan and untoasted on setting 2. This is appalling performance for such an expensive toaster, and not worthy of Cuisinart.

Love the look, love the toast.
The English take their toast seriously, and while I don't share their affinity for beans on toast for breakfast, I lusted after this gorgeous piece of appliance art at Williams-Sonoma for years.About seven years ago, when the dollar was still strong versus the British pound, I bought the 2+2 combi model by mail from a restaurant supplier in the UK for about $100 less than the then-going US price.While it's a bit dicey fitting thick-cut bagels into the slots (not a big bread item in the UK), I solve the problem by using the sandwich baskets to contain them.The toasting is even, and I actually the enjoy the old-fashioned timer without pop-up, which keeps the toast warm while the rest of breakfast is being assembled.Unlike others, I do not unplug it after each use.Never had a problem.The crumb tray is terrific, and actually does catch every bit of crumb without a mess.I've had the $100 Krups and Cuisinart models, which burned out within two years.This one is made for restaurant use, and I expect it to last a lifetime.Worth every penny, if you appreciate high-end kitchen appliances and tools.

I wanted to love this toaster, I really did, I read all the reviews and was convinced that this would be a great working, long lasting toaster.I bit the bullet, spent way more money than I wanted to, and ordered this toaster. I like the way it looks and I like that it doesn't 'pop-up', you can check the toast anytime that you want and return it to toasting with the cool lever.However, I wish I returned it. It is slow, it is a pain to plug in before each use (must be unplugged when not being used), and worse of all :it does NOT toast evenly!Top is burnt, bottom is not even toasted at all, or one slice is done perfect and the other slice is like it was never put into the toaster. This toaster would be a waste of money at $9.99, it should be illegal to charge $200. for it.That said, Amazon's price of 200. was a better deal than William Sanoma's at 299., but I am still sooooo disappointed in this purchase.Upon re-reading the other reviews I find that the people that purchased 'refurbished' models seem more pleased with their purchase.Leads me to wonder if upon 'refurbishing' they are making them better somehow.

Very spiffy toaster
This toaster is very good looking and feels pretty substantial for the price.It doesn't have that super-duper professional look and feel you get with a $100+ toaster, but it's much better aesthetically than others in its price range.Larger slices of bread don't quite fit, but they toast pretty well even without flipping them around.

Worst Toaster I have ever bought
KitchenAid quality control must be asleep, for nearly $50, I expected the performance of a $20 toaster out of the box.It had MOST elements working when it arrived, and now manages to toast only 1/2 the bread (top half). It is only about 4 months old.Well, I could go through the warranty hassle, but I would end up with a KitchenAid, and I'd rather eat frozen bagels and bread.*Updated* My better half convienced me that I should at least give KitchenAid a try, so I called them.They were very nice and prompt on the phone.I will update when my replacement arrives to see how their return process works...

Nice Idea - Failed Implementation
I wanted to like this toaster.It looks nice, seems sturdy enough, and stays cool to the touch.But it toasts poorly.One side of the bread toasts more than the other.So I have to pop up the toast 1/2 way through and turn it over.And now the pop up mechanism isn't working well.
