yup...that's all it is. Doesn't ding or anything at the end of the countdown. It just counts down. save your money and buy a watch. Ohand the magnets don't actually hold the thing up.

I use this along with the 807 BBQ fork for the BBQ and the Smoker. I use the BBQ Fork for grilling and this for smoking and roasting. I like Oxo products because they stand for a certain level of design and quality.This timer looks like it belongs in a modern kitchen and has a hefty, quality feel to it (granted it's probably just extra steel that adds weight).However, when I set it for the first time, it didn't tick.That was a 10 min setting, so I thought it might be one of those where you have to turn it past 15 mins and come back to 10 mins.Nope.Bottom line is it ticks by itself half the time, and requires a gentle coaxing the rest of the time.I find the ring is also a little soft. ... Get the Q2-450 for the same price
The Q2-450 is fast and accurate. It takes 2-3 seconds to go from 70 deg to 140, just fine for grilling. It has a calibration function, it's waterproof and it's under $20.
