Love It!!Love It!!
I have had numerous coffee makers over the years, but this Cuisinart beats them all.The coffee is delicious and steamy hot.Since the coffee pot bottom surface isn't warm, it's within easy reach at the table for the next cup.Sure, the water level is hard to read, but what a small problem.I look forward each morning to waking up to another cup.After reading a previous review, I will rinse out the pot with hot water the night before.Great hint!Love it!Love it!
One of the worst gifts I've ever purchased...
I bought this as a gift for my mother, who needed a new coffee machine. It seemed like a great deal, and I trusted the Cuisinart brand. My mother was happy to receive the gift but a week or two later hesitantly told me that it was a terrible coffee maker - coffee was lukewarm the moment it was made, splattered out the top, and the whole thing, being white, was stained after just a few uses. She put it away and took out her old machine.

Poor Design
This machine gave out within 6 months of purchase.The pause and serve didn't work which caused coffee to pour out onto the base and over the side.Because the timer and clock function is on the bottom, the liquid caused a short of the electrical systems.It started with just the clock going crazy, but ultimately, all the electronic functions gave out.No one can fix these machines besides Cuisinart, so we just decided to buy another.Would never buy another Cuisinart machine, nor a coffee maker with the clock and electrical functions on the bottom. ... Continues to steep....
I concur with Bruce.Because the holes go all the way to the bottom, even when fully depressed it continues to steep.I did not have that problem with my old bodum teapress, but this one looked so nifty that I wanted to try it.I recommend the Bodum Teapress over this one hands down.

Expensive and didn't work as expected
I purchased the Evasolo tea maker 3 weeks ago. I really wanted to like it, but was so disappointed in it's operation that I returned it.

Handle broke
We keep the coffee pot next to the stove, so the handle melted a bit.That was my bad...But then it broke off.That's just annoying.
worth the price
My old carafe had broken, and I was looking for a replacement.This was the only one available and in stock.Although I thought it was a little expensive, I love my Krups coffee maker and really needed a new carafe, so I went ahead and ordered it.It certainly was worth the price.The coffee stays hot for hours!!This carafe is better than the one that came with the coffee maker and was worth every penny I paid for it.

Great Looking but Not So Thermal
You get what you pay for is a truism I guess.This carafe looks wonderful (many compliments at Thanksgiving), and feels like an heirloom, but it just doesn't keep anything hot all that long.By the time people were ready for a second cup of coffee, the coffee was just barely acceptably hot.I bought this since the Alfi line is so expensive, and this had similar good looks, but I suppose the Alfi carafes are expensive for a reason.
