The Alfi Is Iffy
It's a beautiful design and color but that's as far as it goes in the world of coffee carafes.The handle on top is very thin and requires some strength in turning the top (I've had to go so far as to utilizing a screwdriver or knife as a lever!). It keeps the coffee moderately warm but not hot, but that may be a by-product of my fear of really screwing the top on too tightly.If looks are what you are after, this is the one for you.If you require your coffee to be kept with some modicum of heat retention, look elsewhere! ... Beautiful carafe has to go back
This little jewel is beautiful.Thought about keeping it to put silk daisys in, but it cost too much for that.
It Works! Home-brewed beverages can stay hot and fresh literally all day
The upside to being a coffee fiend is that you develop a taste for the good stuff after a while - and if you're like us, you've found a way to brew some pretty fine java at home. While that's great news for the wallet (as compared to going out for coffee every morning to the tune of 5 bucks or more), it also has a downside: suddenly, the cheap stuff at work seems really bad by comparison. Your travel mug will run out sooner or later...

Expensive but worth it.
I bought my first Alfi carafe 15 years ago after a trip to Europe.All of the hootels we stayed in used them to pour coffee.I liked the way it looked and the waiters assured me it would keep hot liquids hot all day.Well, it does provided that you prefill it with hot water (and then obviosuly dump the water before filling with your beverage).The thing will keep stuff steaming for 7 or 8 hours.If you can afford the freight - it is well worth it. ...
