R.I.P.
I bought this kettle in February 2006. I liked everything about it until its automatic ON-OFF switch died recently - only two months after the purchase. Now the kettle won't turn on. It wasn't abused in any way, and these kettles usually last for years and years. The last one of similar kind served me well for 12 years until it started to leak and was replaced with this spanking new Proctor Silex K4070.

Works great! Heats up a large amount of water very quickly and efficiently. Nice design. And not too pricey!

2 years plus and still going strong!!
Sorry to hear that other people have had problems with their kettles, but ours has been working well all along.This Christmas will be 3 years!!

Personally, I like it, allot.
I've had this kettle for six months and use it every morning to fill my coffee press.It does everything it's supposed to do including leak if you over fill it (read the manual).It heats fast and saves ware and tear on the cook top.Hold the handle low and you won't feel the heat or push the lid button when you empty it.One of the best tools in our well equipped kitchen, I can't believe I used a crude tea kettle for sixty years.

I have only owned this kettle for a couple of weeks now but it is AWESOME!It boils water fast and is attractive .You do have to train yourself to not push the lid-opening button when you pour but that is no big deal.A great product that I would recommend. ... Read more

Krups is always good!
Customer below wrote that the tea pot gave toxic smell. It says in the instructions that you have to boil the water twice before you use it to get rid of the new plastic smell. Most of the electic tea kettles require it. I boiled the water twice, and when I made myself a cup of tea there was no smell what so ever. This tea kettle is very comfortable, easy to clean, and it boils water very fast. This is my 3rd item from Krups. I just bought the Convectional Toaster Oven from them and I likeit a LOT! Much better then microwave!

ALMOST perfect
I tried the awful Brookstone mug warmer.Then I got this Rival.It is MUCH better than the Brookstone.It keeps my tea ALMOST as hot as I would like it, and if my tea starts out plenty hot, it slows the rate of cooling so that it is tasty for quite a while.In a perfect world, it would have more than one setting to accommodate different people's tastes, but until that happy day, this is a good one.

Works perfectly for me
I saw some not-so-great reviews for this product and I thought I would add my two cents.This little thing works great for me.It comes with an 8 oz. mug, which is a little small for my liking, but fits my larger standard size mug just fine.It does what it supposed to do very very well.It keeps your beverage (in my case, tea) right on the border of hot and too hot.I guess everyone has a difference tollerance for pain.I have found this leaves my tea at the perfect temperature.Like I said, hot but not so hot you'll burn yourself.Great product.Hope it lasts a long time.

Not Perfect, But the Best one I've found yet.
I am a slow coffee drinker, not a gulper, so my coffee would always get ice cold before I could drink even half of it. I was in search of something that would keep my coffee nice and hot, not burning, but hot. In search of the perfect coffee warmer I bought a few different brands and tried them out. What I found out was that none of them will keep your coffee piping hot. But the Rival 14005 Beverage Warmer was the best one out of the ones I tried. So if you absolutely must have your coffee piping hot then I'm afraid you are out of luck. But if your like me and would rather have it warm than ice cold this is the mug warmer for you.

Not worth the money
I bought one of these on February 10th.It has a 60-day warranty.On April 8th it started leaking out of the seam above the heating element. I have only used it to heat water for tea, coffee, etc and never let it go dry. safety hazard that doesn't boil water
As a college student I have limited access to a kitchen. I have another hotpot that I use to make soup and such, but I decided to purchase this hotpot to have a small one to heat up water for cocoa/tea/etc.I've been sorely disappointed with its performance. poor product
I am totally disappointed with this product: it doesn't bring the water to boil. Its function is just to heat up the water to a certain temperature. There is no signal to tell you that the water is ready for use. So you would have to check on it or to guess. The maual says it takes about 5 minutes to heat up 3 cups of water, mine too more than 9 minutes. ... Read more

This electric kettle is hot to trot!!!
I have had this kettle for over 5 years. It is a true workhorse. I use it several times a day. It boils water faster than a kettle on the stove, and its brushed stainless exterior and black plastic handle and cover complement my kitchen decor nicely. There is no plastic inside, which is hard to find in an electric kettle. You really don't want any plastic inside because of the controversy over heated polycarbonate plastic releasing potentially carcinogenic chemicals. Better to err on safety's side when it comes to your health. There is a clear fill indicator on the side of kettle that lets you know how much water is in the pot. The kettle also has auto shut off. 1 Year Later It Is Not Worth The Money
At first we loved the kettle.It performed well, being used 5-6 times a day.There normally is a little condensation on the heating element, but right around the time the 1 year warranty expired, we noticed more water at the base.By the time we noticed that one of the windows had a leak, it was after the warranty expired.
My Kettle is now not working after 4 months!!
I am from Scotland and hence drink a lot of tea, so I thought the Dualit would be the perfect kettle for me.
Expensive but WONDERFUL!
I would actually give this 4.5 stars due only to the price (but they don't give us that option)
