awesome and durable
I've had this rice cooker for 9 years now and have used it at least weekly for that long.I also will leave it on for days with the rice warming.It's durable, dependable.I have also cooked other things in it- leave wild rice in for at least 30 mins after the warming light is on- also have cooked wheatberries and quinoa without any problems.Very easy.Gets a little gummy with the steam drain, but that happens on all of them.Very easy to clean.After 9 years, the inside pot is a little scratched, but rice doesn't stick- I have to say on occasion I used metal utensils and this is where the scratches came from.

not worth the $ Buy a Fuzzy Logic!!
I have a "Fuzzy Logic" Rice cooker at our main house. I bought this 'cheaper' rice cooker' for the weekend place. This cooker will be given to Goodwill, as it scorches the rice and is not as user-friendly as my Fuzzy Logic. Everytime it 'think' it has been switched to COOK it actually is on the WARM setting. PLease...if you love Asian cooking DO NOT BUY THIS COOKER!

Boils over and makes a big mess.
I have to agree with the other review.I was excited about my new rice pot.I have a large family and this makes lots of rice.So far we have only made the 4 cups and it boiled over twice.I don't know what kind of mess I would have if I attempted to make the 6 cups.Not recommended.

thoroughly disgusted
I am very disappointed in this product and will be contacting westbend and amazon for a refund...Received it brand new and followed all instructions only to have it boil over and make a huge mess on the sides of the pot and my counter. I should have followed my friend's advice to go to the local chinese grocer for one.So much for Westbend's quality. ... Read more

Dead after 5 months - Disposable Rice Cooker
I bought this at a different store, not online, at a sale price of $12.00. Too good to be true. It just totally stop working after about 5 months for some unknown reason.

Stopped working after one use
I recieved this steamer as a Christmas gift. I used it once and it worked fine. The second time I turned it on it stopped working. I has not worked since. I wrote the company because it is under warrenty - I wanted to have it repaired. I had it for only one month.

i am a single guy that cook rice maybe about 3 times a month, this rice cooker works great for the first 6 month and after that it went totally dead, i dont know why, i dont abuse it. well just keep in mind that if you going to buy this cooker, this is not something you can keep for a long time. ...
