pre-seasoned version is great
After reading many reviews of cast iron baking pans, I decided to spend the extra $5 on the preseasoned versions.I think this was totally worth it.My son loves "cactus cornbread" and will gobble up lots of it.I use oil spray in mine and the cacti slide on out, no problem.I usually just have to wipe off a few crumbs when I am done.Now I want to get the perch pan!

Saguaro Cornbread
My kids love these little cornbread saguaros because they love cornbread, everything about Arizona, and especially these statuesque desert sentinals.I bought the non-seasoned version of this pan last year and I'm still breaking it in, so the corn bread sticks a bit.I'm sure that the new pre-seasoned version will break in faster.Make sure to preheat the mold and grease it before putting in the batter and don't fill them too full.Enjoy! ... Amazing!
I love this product! It is so incredibly easy to clean - it redefines the nonstick pan category. Everything I have baked in it so far comes out effortlessly, perfectly shaped, with no pre-greasing necessary. It works very well for creating frozen deserts too. The down side is that the wells are relatively small compared to a regular muffin pan. I was also concerned about a distinct plastic smell while baking but the pan was perfectly intact. WRONG SIZE
This item is not nine inches wide.It is the same width as the seven stick cornstick pan, but costs ten dollars more.So you are paying ten dollars to get two extra cornstick molds of the same size.Hopefully, the item description will be changed soon.Now, I have to pack up and ship back several of these, but at least Amazon is paying the freight.Lodge Logic is the greatest for cooking and baking though.I think this is just a random error.Just be sure and buy the seven stick pan for 7.99.The cornsticks will be the same size.

Fun, but not terribly practical
First I'd like to say that Lodge Logic is the greatest. No seasoning, could it get any better?This is a great little pan that does a wonderful job at making perfect little cornbread sticks.I've done them in the oven, as well as over coals and they've turned out fine every time (first time they stuck and broke when I took them out, but the pan still cleaned fine).The only reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is because it's not terribly practical.It'll only cook one small batch at a time (1 1/2 cups of cornmeal mix).However, if you want something really fun and different, this is it. ...
