It's not for FoodSaver!
I see that this product got such low reviews, mostly from people who are not using a Deni vacuum sealer.These bags are thin and the roll is sealed on two sides.It is meant for use with Deni products only so if you have a FoodSaver that uses textured bags, do not buy this!It works well with the Deni vacuum sealer that I have.I only wish I could but it at Target.

Just use Saran wrap.
These are not bags.They are rolls of folded plastic that have to be sealed on three sides.The Deni Vacuum Sealer designed to use these rolls has a hose that slips inside the bag and does a poor job of removing the air.Don't even consider these for your Foodsaver.

sharpen your scissors instead of buying new ones
All those dull old scissors I collected over the years, as they gradually lost their edge, are now SHARP.I stumbled across this product while looking for a knife sharpener.Since I was about to buy yet another pair of scissors, I decided to try it.It really put a good edge on all my shears (except pinking, nail and hair - which it does not sharpen).You have to be somewhat careful holding the blade at the correct angle, as there is a bit of wiggle room under the guide.One practice run with a cheap pair of scissors should suffice, however, and it is wonderful to have really sharp scissors again.Lots of them! ... Easier than the Rolls
If you want to store larger things and you have the foodsaver vacsaver this is the way to go. Cost wise its pretty much the same as the roll but you don't have to mess with cutting and sealing. Cutting it straight can be a real pain at times. Unless your doing something really custom these should be big enough. I got the rolls and the gallon bags and discovered most of the time I ended up cutting the rolls to the size of the bags. ... Read more

Could cut a better edge.
This can opener replaced another Black & Decker can opener that finally gave out after 13 years. It is sorely missed and this new one comes in as a good replacement with the single observation that the edge of the can lid that is removed always has a ragged cut edge. Other than that minor drawback to watch out for when you take the lid off the magnet, it's a good can opener. Find it at discount prices and it's worth it.

Good product mostly.
Only downside is that, when you try to remove the can from the opener, the magnet pulls the handle off like 70% of the time. It's annoying.

Wonderful Product
Our family isn't into gadgets, but this appliance certainly earns its keep in our house!It performs like a charm and offers convenient features without all the fancy (and costly) bells and whistles.Now I know why this model was highly rated in a popular consumer magazine.
I bought the Z845 a few months ago and I think it's junk.
If I could give this thing a negative number, I would. I just threw away 2 large bags of brown sugar because, after I had thrown away the bags the sugar came in, I could not get the Z845 to work. What a mess! I had brown sugar all over that part of my kitchen.

Gizmo can opener-almost as good as it seemed
Very handy.I found it easier not to mount.I just leave it on the counter next to the plug and plug it in when necessary.Only fault - the magnet is so strong that sometimes when removing the can the magnet draws the front part of the device into the can.

Sunbeam Adjustable Can Opener -"Where's the Beef"
Sunbeam used to make the best can opener and knife sharpener combination on the market, until they sold to Oster. With the Sunbeam model the "knife sharpner" feature is merely a token. Gone are the dual spinning stones that used to really debur and put a precision sharp edge on cutlery.The good news is that the old Sunbeam (the good one) has morphed into what is now the Oster Model #3118 ... exactly the same as the original (good) Sunbeam. So my recommendation is to buy the Oster model #3118

Nice opener
So far this can opener has worked perfectly. The tops remain attached to the magnet, it's a breeze to clean and the size adjusts to the size of the can to be opened. A really good product.

I purchased my first grinder 20 years ago and have experiencedmuch of the frustration that you read about in the reviews of MOST of the other coffee bean grinders.For some reason coffee grinders are often poorly designed and of horrid quality.Especially the cheap grinders are certainly no bargain.When I read the reviews of the cheap grinders it brings back "flashbacks" of extreme frustration (even some of the pricier units are garbage), noisy, messy and ultimately they break and are chucked into the garbage :-(
Grinds Extra Fine
I had purchased a new $500 espresso machine and my old grinder would not grind fine enough for a good espresso.On the highest "extra fine" setting (4 settings each level) this grinder grinds too fine, my espresso machince can't force water through the grounds (they are like powder).I then tried the highest "Fine" setting and it is just about right.Still need to experiment some, as of now I'm happy with the unit.

I was leary of spending this much on a grinder. But I really like coffee and noticed that my home brew wasn't quite up to par with Pete's (coffee house where I get my beans). Now my home brew coffee is as good as it is when brewed at Pete's.

Love it!The Jerky maker along with the dehydrator is the smartest way to go.I also buy the Nesco Jerky Spice Works boxes that come with spice packets & cure mixes.For the men in your lives that crave substance, they'll love it, too.It's more frugal to make your own your jerky.Plus you know exactly from what & how it's made.I just mix 1 lb ground beef with one cure mix then mix in a season packet.Put it through your jerky maker pump & dry for a few hours. I haven't tried cutting up strips of flank steak or round steak, yet. I did make a couple good batches of my own granola bars.I lined the trays with plastic wrap, spread my granola mix on, dried & broke into pieces.(no High Fructose corn syrup in mine!) Machine also quickly makes great apple chips & banana chips.I like to dip my banana slices in a mix of half water & half honey.Very tasty and good for you.It also may be a good idea to only put one sliced banana portion (or apple) per tray.Then when it's done drying, store one tray portion in a 4 oz plastic container. (Glad or Tupperware, etc, reusable containers you can buy in the stores).They are then great to put in your husband's lunchbox (or kids').Keeping the "one fruit" portions separated is a good idea for portion control because smaller, dried, snack food is a big culprit of over-eating.One does not realize how much they are eating.You normally wouldn't sit down & eat two bananas or two apples in a row.Back to the dehydrator itself, I love how the motor is on top & comes down through the middle.No rotating trays or drip messes on a bottom coil.I love mine!Hope this helps! ... Poor Customer Service Makes This Sealer Useless
We recommended a Rival food sealer to many friends and relatives, before it developed a glitch. After a short time, the sealer started turning off before the food saver bags were fully suctioned. It was necessary to unplug it and plug it back in to get it going again. As time went on, the problem became worse and worse. After receiving no replies to our contacts to Rival (2 to the 800 number and 1 via email), we tossed it and replaced it with another, more expensive brand. Rival's customer service is non-existent, so do not take a chance with buying any of their products. If it should break, you are on your own.

Great bargain among the vacuum sealers
I was looking for a vacuum sealer and looked at several models of three brands: Foodsaver, Kenmore (which appear to be made by the Foodsaver people), and Rival. After reading many disappointing reviews on the Foodsaver models and mostly good ones on other Rival models offered in the past on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to check out the local stores and see what was available.
It works for me!
I know other reviews have said that this machine is hard to operate (not "one handed") and loud...yes, it does require a little "oomph" to hold down both sides of the lid in order to shut it completely, but you need the fit for the proper seal!It is quite loud, but again, aren't air compressors and vacuums loud also?The soft seal option is great; lets you choose how much of a vacuum is used in each bag of more delicate items like strawberries, hot dog and hamburger buns, and muffins.When you think it might squash the items during vacuum stage, you just hit the "seal" button and it stops and seals the bag.I do as the manual suggested and freeze the delicate items first before vacuuming. There is a "delicate" button to choose for this setting which helps the process.
