Do you like being splattered?
Not only did this can-opener only last two years before the switch completely snapped off, rendering the machine unusable and dangerous, but the entire time I owned it, I had to shield myself from splatters.Why?Because whenever it tears a lid off a can, the spring-loaded magnet at the top, grabs hold of the lid, and flips it towards your face.
Only one available
Needed to replace my 11 year old B & D under-cabinet can opener - shopped in a few stores but only found it on Amazon via J&R.Hope it works as well as the previous one.

never had a problem
Have owned one for over 6 years and never had a complaint-UNTIL now -went to use and the lever to start the opener broke completely off!!You can see the coils to the motor very close to the hole where the lever USED to be and now Im afraid of being shocked to death if I touch it so thats why Im being forced to replace!!!Have looked at many models and just cant find one I like as much!!!Plus the convience of being able to directly replace is too good to pass on!But would have to recommened to anyone looking for a GOOD and inexpensive opener Quess I got lucky and got a good unit!!Lets hope my replacement works as good as my old one!!! ... Marinating Kit
I like this product. Quality is very good.I use it for other things besides marinating.Store homemade cookies in it, left over soups and stews, etc.I am glad I bought it.

This is a nice add-on item to the Seal-A-Meal.I'm not sure Amazon's description is adequate, so I'll start there.This is simply a container made for marinating meats.However, it can be used for other purposes too.Inside the bottom half are some raised "bumps" that hold the meat up and allow the marinade to flow under the meat.The top of the container has a one way valve.You connect the plastic hose (included) to it and the other end to your Seal-A-Meal and it sucks the air out of the container, creating a vacuum inside the container that helps open the "pores" of the meat, allowing it to marinate faster and more thoroughly.Once the vacuum is created, you can disconnect the hose and store the contents indefinitely.So, while it's made specifically for marinating, it can be used as a "stay fresh" canister for most anything that will fit inside.When you're ready to open it, you push the "button" on the valve and the outside air rushes in, eliminating the vacuum and allowing you to open the container.

making the bags work
When you have problems with the bags puncturing or with liquids leaking, try using paper towels or wax paper to wrap the food items in. Wax paper seems to work best for the leaky liquid and paper towels seem to work best for food items that puncture the bags.

Finally Sharp!
I've been limping along with a manual ceramic sharpener and never could get a decent edge on my knives. It's been so long I'd forgotten how good a really sharp knife is. The Chef's Chocie sharpener got my blades back to ultra sharp like new condition! I'm having to relearn how to respect sharp knives again. (oh my bleeding fingers) It was definitely worth getting the more expensive model. BTW, most of the reviews (53 so far) are under the white model. I just like red better. :-)

Great for dried sticky fruits
We have an apricot tree at my parents' house and my dad used to love to make frozen apricots. The problem with drying them however, is that they stick to the dehydrator as the sugars concentrate in the fruit.
Works Great for small items.
These inserts are wonderful.I can dry small items like grapes (raisins) and they don't fall through the slots.I can also lift out the inserts and finished product slides off easily.

It's NOT stainless-stell
I think the machine was great at first. It's fast and eficient, but if you have more than 5 lb.of meat to grind and you don't want smoke coming out from the motor,You might want to give it a break in between. Plus, the cutting plates and the feed screw turn rusting and black even you put cooking oilafter wash as directed by the instruction book, and they have this iron/metal smell on the cutting plate that contaminate the meat. I am very disappointed.

Great Gift
I gave this to my boyfriend for his 30th birthday and he loves it. We have a small apartment so it fits in the living room and acts as an end table. It looks beautiful and is great for those who enjoy wine but are not to serious about it. I love it and the price was right!

Mine arrived damaged - seems to be the case with many others as well.
It was easy enough to get Amazon to have it picked up but hard to re-package it since it arrived damaged.

Good wine cellar for the price
The packaging was damaged on delivery but luckily there was no damage to the wine cellar. I love the way it looks, and the cellar doesn't make any more noise than a refrigerator should (obviously when you first plug it in, the compressor will generate some noise as it is cooling the cellar for the first time).

Picky baby food eater
While my son is still picky about the consistency of baby food, he does eat it.Which is great.In addition I will also say this is a very easy to clean, use and store baby food grinder.

If you want to feed your child metal, buy this one!!
I recommend not buying this product.I used it to grind chicken, and was happy to see it working, until I noticed the chicken had a gray color to it on certain parts.It turns out the coating of metal on the grinder was actually rubbing off and getting on both the food being grinded and the ground up chicken.Making baby food at home is supposed to be healthy, but I beleive feeding your child metal is not considered part of their iron requirements.

Makes feeding baby easy
I've had this food mill for about a month, and so far I really like it.It's relatively easy to use, and cleans up quickly in the dishwasher.I was worried that it would only grind up soft foods, but that hasn't been a problem.I've ground up pasta, rice, meat, veggies, and yesterday I ground up a gyros, and the food mill worked great.
