Editorial Review

Although this crock and utensil set is designed to color-coordinate with Le Creuset cookware, the superb quality and choice of colors makes this a great gift for any cook, regardless of his or her cookware brand. The one-quart ceramic crock sits sturdily on the countertop and shows an attractive glaze pattern that fades from dark at the bottom to light at the flared top. Included are six tools with high-heat-resistant silicone heads that won't scratch nonstick pans and remove from the wooden handles for dishwasher cleaning.Read more

Features

  • 1-quart ceramic crock and 6 silicone kitchen tools with wooden handles
  • 5 spatulas: mini, small, medium, large spoon, jumbo slotted spoon
  • Also, 1 silicone basting brush; set available in choice of colors
  • Silicone heads resist high heat and remove for easy cleaning
  • Safe for use on nonstick pans and for dishwasher-cleaning; made in USA

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice but pricey
These are great spatulas. They have virtually replaced all of my other cooking utensils.I tend to favor the larger ones but will use the smaller ones in a pinch.I have to remember to pop the heads off to wash so the wood handles do not swell and warp in water.I do put the heads in the dishwasher and they come out fine.I have not had a problem with the heads slipping off during use if I pay attention to putting the larger heads on the larger handles. The red is BRIGHT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Shawn's
These work great to get that extra out of the bowls. I am very particular about my spatulas. I love Pampered Chef items, but do not care for their spatulas. They do not seem to slide very well. The MIU ones slide easily on all surfaces.

5-0 out of 5 stars Spatulas that take the heat
This is a nice set of spatulas. It's only after you get them that you realize how useful they are. Here are some of the ways I use them, you can see why I like to have many.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice, but wooden handles are better
These are a nice, cheap set of spatulas that get the job done. They are listed for $11.99 and i bought them for $8.99 - the price seems to fluctuate.

Here's one spatula you won't find melted up against the side of the stove. Heat resistant to 500 degrees F, it's crafted from a sturdy silicone that won't scrape or scratch nonstick cooking surfaces. The 7-1/2-inch handle allows better reach, and the 3-1/2-inch head is angled and flexible to help you extract every last drop of cake batter from the bowl. (Whatever you do, don't tell the kids you'll be using it; they might go on strike.) I have this, got it in a set of utensils. Nice, smooth, sturdy handle that has some good weight to it. It's red, matches my kitchen and like the other utensils I have, it's a good buy!

The KitchenAid Silicone Mixer Spatula is really designed for KitchenAid stand Mixers while the KitchenAid Silicone Spatula Scraper is for every thing else. It can be used in hot pots when scraping things like when making puddings or gravys cause it does withstand high heat, up to 500 degrees the lable says. 5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect.
This spatula does exactly what it should. It's firm enough so that you can apply pressure to the bowl to scrape, yet flexible enough to allow it to bend to the appropriate shape. It's the right length to get into deep bowl. The shape is the correct curvature for most mixing bowls. Food does not stick to it. It is easily washable in the dishwasher. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

2-0 out of 5 stars Looking for a better spatula
The edge of the spatula, after only two weeks, has started to fall off in little pieces.I only washed it in soapy warm water and was very careful every time.I read other reviews that said this was a problem.I thought if I was very careful it wouldn't happen. But it did.I will return it.

This ergonomically designed spatula keeps hands and wrists from feeling strained when scraping multiple batches of cake batter out of a mixing bowl or pesto out of a food processor. The spatula’s tip has two different angles--one rounded and one with a sharp corner--for scraping into bowls of differing shapes. The spatula is made of high-grade silicone, which is dishwasher-safe and heat-resistant to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The silicone also extends halfway up the handle so food won’t get trapped in the seams. For safety, the handle is made of non-slip plastic that provides a secure grip and is coated with UV protection to prevent it from ever yellowing. This spatula is comfortable for either righties or lefties to use and is covered by Zyliss under a five-year warranty from the date of purchase. Read more

Despite all the bright-colored, high-tech silicone kitchen utensils out these days, there’s nothing quite like the good old-fashioned feel of wood for cooking needs. Crafted from solid beech wood, this 14-inch turner is long enough to keep hands away from oil or heat, making it ideal for flipping flapjacks or keeping potstickers from sticking. While the gently curved head thins to a straight edge, the give of wood means the edge is safe for nonstick cookware. A natural oil finish protects the wooden turner and won’t contaminate food.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!!!
This is what I use when making a roux and when I need to break up ground meat while cooking. It's nice and heavy and feels good in my hand. I have cheaper wooden products and they don't hold up as well as this does. You can tell the difference between OXO wooden utensils and others because of the quality.I think you can put it in the dishwasher but I never do. I hand wash it and oil it whenever I oil my cutting board. I love its rich color. It's a great product.

Le Creuset, renowned maker of enameled cast-iron cookware, also produces a line of silicone kitchen tools in bright colors to match the cookware. A tool like this one has many uses-as a slotted spoon for draining vegetables, a mixing spoon for batter, or a spatula for scooping browned meatballs or fried dumplings right out of a hot pan. The 2-3/4-inch silicone head impressively withstands temperatures up to 800 degrees F, and pulls off the wooden handle to pop into the dishwasher for cleaning. Soft and pliable, the silicone spoon won't scratch delicate china bowls or nonstick surfaces, yet is durable enough to maintain its shape over time. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Wood handle IS there for a reason
This spatula (or spoonula, whatever you want to call it) works pretty well. I've left it sitting in the pan over high heat for a few minutes before, and it does not melt, so that's great. It's very flexible. The wooden handle has been getting bad reviews, but this is the feature I like the most. At first, though, I hated it. Then I realized that Le Creuset really did put a lot of thought into this. When using their cookware, you should not bang utensils on the side of the pan because it could chip it. Even plastic will chip it. This is a very hard habit to break. After stirring your food, you bang the excess off on the side of the pan. Well, with the wood handle, you can still do that and not chip the pan because it is a softer, shock absorbing, material. No, you should not put wood into the dishwasher. I don't put my Le Creuset pots and pans in the dishwasher, either, so it doesn't take anything extra for me to hand-wash this. The only complaint I have is that the slots are too small. Food gets trapped inside the slots easily and is a pain to get out. And they're too small to let any significant amount of liquid drain. All in all, it's a pretty good spatula. Next time, though, I'll get an unslotted one.

3-0 out of 5 stars I hate the wooden handle
I like this spatula for the following reasons:
3-0 out of 5 stars SLOTTED FEATURE USELESS
WE HAVE AN ASSORTMENT OF LE CREUSET SPATULAS...PERHAPS A DOZEN. THIS SLOTTED MODEL MAKES THE LEAST SENSE. A METAL SLOTTED SPOON MAKES SENSE. A FLEXIBLE SILICONE SCRAPER OR SPATULA MAKES SENSE. A SPATULA WITH SLOTS JUST BECOMES A NUISANCE AS EACH SLOT MUST BE CLEANED OUT. IT DOES SCRAPE OUT THINGS WELL BUT WOULD BE BETTER WITHOUT THE SLOTS. I CANNOT THINK OF A SPECIFIC USE THIS SLOTTED TOOL WOULD BE BEST FOR...WHAT WERE THE LE CREUSET DESIGNERS THINKING OF? ... Read more

When I use this, I am doing some serious frying. This allows me to move and turn food without splashing a lot of oil.Removing cooked food from oil is also easy because the large holes drain grease well. This is best used with at least a 10" skillet.Otherwise you won't have enough room to work.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this
For a silicone spatula it is not heat-resistant.The first time I used it the edges cracked.Plus it is not flexible so you can only use it at certain angles.Waste of money...I sold it in my garage sale!
5-0 out of 5 stars Easy-clean finish
I have the four piece set of these silicone utensils, and have been very pleased with them. They are heat resistant, heavy-duty, and look sharp. They are slightly flexible, but I have not found this to be a problem unless you want to do heavy scraping with the turner. The best part is the wonderful easy-clean properties of the silicone. My other heat-resistant utensils always look icky and need to be scrubbed with a scouring pad to clean the textured finish. These look great right out of the dishwasher! I've had them for a year and they've held up great. The turner has not disintegrated on the edge, either, like many other types do.The smooth finish allows food to slip right off without sticking as you're cooking.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good spatula, but...

4-0 out of 5 stars good for the $
Nice and sturdy silicon spatula. Scrapes great in any situation. Recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect handling
You know how most spatulas are, even the expensive ones. They eventually chip, peel, discolor or are too stiff or too soft.I didn't think I'd find anything better than my Rubbermaid but I did. I love this spatula. The size is perfect too. It takes the heat!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good but one big flaw
I like this spatula I do, but if you are working with dough it is useless. The spatula end is detachable--which I recommend when washing because bits of food can get stuck in the seam and inside the spatula tip. I use it all the time.

Firing up the grill? The shorter, 8-inch length and slightly stiffer feel of this turner makes it the tool of choice for flipping smaller, heavier items like thick burgers. The 4-1/2-by-3-inch head has rounded corners and tapered edges, so it also slides easily underneath the biggest pancake or the heaviest grilled cheese. Because it's constructed from highly heat-resistant silicone, this turner won't melt if you leave it propped up against a skillet, and it won't scratch or otherwise harm your beloved nonstick pans. The KitchenAid logo even doubles as a spatula rest, so you can place the turner up against the rim of a pan without it sliding in. With its cheery chrome accents and convenient hanging loop, this turner will brighten your kitchen even as it stays within arm's reach. Read more

So glad I bought this turner! It's very flexible and I can get under and flip my omelette/pancake beautifully. I love how I can now scrape the pan clean (as hard as I want) without leaving any scratches. It's very easy to clean too.

5-0 out of 5 stars A real finger saver!
Before I bought this spatulah, I used to flip burgers over with my hands. As you can imagine...I burned my fingers a lot AND messed up my food. With this spatula, I can flip my burgers and pancakes over without burning my hands or messing up my food. It's plastic too, so it washes real easy.I just don't know how I ever grilled anything without this handy gadget. It's not very good for stiring though.I might need to buy a big spoon. ... Editorial Review

(Whatever you do, don't tell the kids you'll be using it; they might go on strike.) The KitchenAid logo even doubles as a spatula rest, so you can place the spatula up against the rim of a bowl without it sliding into the goo. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars beware of water
I bought this scraper (along with a whole set of KitchenAid utensils) as a birthday gift for my mom, she loves it.She cooks a lot and it's already been put to great use. I like that it can with-stand very high heats. The only thing that she and I do not like about this product it that the handle retains water when used in the dishwasher. Depending on the type of dishwasher that you have you can probably put it on the top rack and it will be okay but otherwise you might be using it when yucky water leaks out.
2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with KitchenAid this time...
I have this scraper and after just a few uses, it fell apart at the connection in the center. Normally, I rave about KitchenAid, but this product was truly a disappointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite spatula...
I bought this small spatula about a year ago and find that I use it for almost everything.I bake a lot and so this spatula has had quite a work out. After a year of much use and tossing it in the dishwasher for cleaning, it looks brand new.Handle makes it the most comfortable spatula I have ever used.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Little Spatula
I love my little bright blue spatula. It hasn't hardened from being put in the dish washer.I find it really rather comfortable to hold. It's also the perfect size to stick in a small jar or can to get the last of the contents out. ... Read more
