4-0 out of 5 stars good customer service
I haven't had this item long enough yet to speak to usage.I bought mine and did not receive the hose. The customer service rep I spoke to was very kind and did not in any way give me a hard time.I just wanted to bring this up because I'd heard bad things about their customer service, and that was not my experience at all.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Product!
This vacuum sealer costs a little more but is definitely worth every penny!I started out with a cheaper sealer and it started out great for the first couple months then went downhill from there. So I bit the bullet and bought the Foodsaver and I'm so glad I did. This sealer is great for those like myself who want to use it on a regular basis. It has a sleeker look as well with flat buttons rather than raised ones.Plus, I like that I have control over the speed of the vacuum and can choose between moist or dry foods. The moist food option affects the sealing time only.It will still suck moisture in so you still need to be careful of that but the sealing time will be longer because of the extra moisture where the seal is.If you choose this product I highly recommend purchasing the jar sealer. You can vacuum seal anything in mason jars and it is so much cheaper than the expensive foodsaver containers.Overall great product and worth the extra price for the frequent user!Highly recommend!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
My husband wanted to try one of these appliances to save our garden produce, after researching we settled on this one, haven't been disappointed. It's easy to use, does what it says it does, like the upgraded buttons that are sealed so you don't get dirt around them.Quality and features are worth it. ... Since day one the item never heats up at all.We set it to the desired temperature but it never reached it.DO NOT BUY IT!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Let the Buyer Beware!
I had another George Foreman grill that I used every day for years. Eventually it died. I loved it! So when it came to buying another, I came to Amazon and started to look at the newer models. I purchased this version, attracted by the timer and heat setting, features not available on the gril I previously owned. And the removeable grills for cleaning! Wow! That must be great! Well, no! Since day one the grills barely attached to the body. Took so much effort to get them to adhere, I took to cleaning it the old fashioned way. Half way through grilling, the top grill would come flying off. Since it was heated up to 425 degrees, there have been quite a few burns, and a couple of close calls with it landing nearly on top of my bare feet. Great concept, very poorly executed. Very disappointed. Does a great job grilling, however.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Product.
This George Forman Grill is so easy to cook and clean.I have had other earlier versions and they weren't as easy to clean. This timer and temperature gauge is great. It is worth the its weight in price alone in all the fat you don't cook in. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Extra Large Water Tank for Single Serve Pod Coffee Machines
This extra large water tank removes the daily need to replace the water.

5-0 out of 5 stars Should be Standard
I guess if you have very limited space, the standard tank might be a necessity, but now I can go two mornings without re-filling the tank. Not a really big deal, but it always seemed like my tank was nearly empty when I was rushed the most. Now I just refil it when I get the chance, and it cuts those times in half. Now if only I could find a mug to fit under the spout that would hold one "two cup" shot and half of a "one cup" shot. Then I could run out enough to fill a to-go cup and not have to fight the drip.I would give this Item 6 stars if I were able.

5-0 out of 5 stars Oh Yeah...
Absolutely no complaints about the Senseo large capacity water tank. Some would say that the larger tank takes away from the sleekness of the unit, some would say that it makes the unit bulkier, I would say that it is incredible NOT to have to fill the tank everyday.Bite the bullet, get the large tank, you won't be sorry! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Unique features in a bad product with lousy service resolution.
I bought a Panasonic toaster oven and I am now planning to return what I have. My first unit worked fine for about 4 months and then the rack mechanism broke followed by the heating element at the bottom. I had to send the unit for repair and then (weeks later) was accused of abusing the unit by the servicer, who then claimed an out of warranty problem and refused to repair it. Weeks later, Panasonic sent me a replacement - but the wrong model; more weeks later, I received the right model but it was damagaed upon unpacking it. It's been three months and I still don't have resolution or a toaster oven, not to mention all the time I've spent on the phone with Panasonic - where some folks are very helpful and some are worthless (outsourcing at its best). I cannot recommend this product and for me, the Panasonic brand is tainted.

This electronic stand mixer beats cake or bread dough, leaving your hands free for other food preparation tasks. The powerful motor has 12 easy-to-set speeds that can handle any mixing task. You can knead dough or stir ingredients on the lower speeds, smooth batters or mash potatoes on the medium speeds, and whip cream or prepare frosting on the highest speeds. An electronic sensor detects how large your quantities are and adjusts the speed up or down automatically to accommodate larger or smaller loads. The mixer comes with 1-1/2-quart and 4-quart stainless-steel bowls that are dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. Both bowls rotate on the mixer’s turntable during operation for more even blending. The mixer also has two beaters that are large in size, leaving little batter on the sides of the bowl to scrape down. Two heavy-duty dough hooks are included for making bread. A release button easily ejects the beaters or hooks for cleanup. Made of lightweight plastic and fairly compact in size, this mixer is easier to lift and store in a cabinet than some of the heavier cast-iron stand mixer models. This appliance is covered by West Bend under a 90-day warranty. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased!
I was glad I had purchased the West Bend 41027 12-Speed Electronic Stand Mixer. I was only familiar with the KitchenAid and others but this brand was new to me. I was pleased with the super packaging of he Mixer--it was well protected from damage. I have used it once so far and I believe I have gotten value for what I paid for it. I love the stainless steel bowl. A really good buy for me.
5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect mixer
This mixer is just what I was looking for.I searched for several months to find a mixer that wasn't big, bulky and heavy. This one is lightweight for ease in moving and storage, but very sturdy, when in use. The weighted stainless steel bowls help keep it in place nicely.I'll never have to worry about the bowls breaking. The mixer is VERY quiet and does an excellent job mixing. With it's streamlined design, it is easy to clean. My daughter has has had this same mixer for a couple of years and has never had a problem with it.I was so happy to find it at Amazon, because it was no longer available locally.

By using high-quality 18/10 stainless steel for this French press, Frieling has smartly sidestepped the problem of breakable glass carafes. The full-length handle is both comfortable and stable, while the all-steel mesh plunger mechanism can be used with coarse coffee grounds or loose tea leaves. 5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Container - Fabulous Coffee
Our Daughter-in-Law bought this for us as a gift from Amazon. The carafe is beautiful, made from 18/10 stainless steel, feels good in the hand because while heavy and insulated, the handle is perfectly balanced for easy use when pouring.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
This French Press is very well made, and worth the extra money it costs.I only see two minor flaws:1. The screen doesn't come completely clean just buy spraying it off - some coffee grinds stay behind.2. If you aren't careful and press too hard I suppose hot water could come spraying out. However, anyone that has used a French Press before will know how to press it slowly and properly and won't have that problem. ... Editorial Review

Serious coffee lovers agree that the best way to brew everyone's favorite stimulant is also the simplest and quickest. The French press method prevents scorching of the beans, and because there's no filter involved, all of the flavorful oils stay in your drink. Simply measure out one rounded tablespoon of coarse ground per 4-ounce cup, pour very hot (not boiling) water over it, let the contents brew for at least 4 minutes, then slowly depress the plunger. The result is one of the richest cups of java you'll ever taste. This attractively designed Bodum press is the perfect size for one person's morning fix. Because the carafe is glass, it's best to use a little care when handling the press in the sink--but if it should break, don't panic: Bodum offers replacement parts. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars French Press Coffee -- Why take the time.
For ideal coffee using a French press is the best method. It takes a bit more time and effort, but results in much better tasting coffee. This is because due to the lower temperatures and the lack of a paper filter the coffee oils stay in tact. This adds a lot of flavor to the coffee that is lost otherwise.
4-0 out of 5 stars Nice coffee press for work
I bought this neat coffee press to replace my trips to the nasty workstation coffee pot.Rumors around work say the workstation coffee scrubber and pot hasn't been changed or cleaned very well in 7 years!

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Rice Cooker Ever
My fiance is Thai, and I almost made a big mistake by purchasing the 'wrong kind' of rice cooker! So, I did some more research before I purchased and wound up with buying the Zojirushi NH-VBC18, and she could not be happier. This unit does alot more than just 'cook rice'. It does soups, and just about anything else you want to put in it. It also cooks evenly, as advertised. The 'keep warm' feature for rice works great and keeps the rice fresh all day. Its so simple to use, that even I can do it! Looks nice on the counter too!

1-0 out of 5 stars Quality Control Failure ?
I just finished returning the replacement for this cooker from amazon. The first one did not work for anything other than white rice and the second one has an out of control touchpad that spontaneously starts beeping all of a sudden. Looks like Zojirushi maybe having some quality control issues, according to even the Amazon customer service. Only saving grace is the fact that Amazon has been very good about the return process.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great rice cooker
I have been having some bad luck with rice cookers in recent times. Some of then were really bad; finally I made the transition to a Zojirushi. I had one of their lower end model and was perfectly happy with it, until one day my daughter decided to experiment with the rice cooker and break it. Finally I bought the NH-VBC18 much agains the wishes of the family. But now that we have started using it, everyone loves the end product. I have cooked the soft, medium and hard version of the white rice and it's excellent. I have nothing but prise for this product. This is a excellent choice and would recomend it over any other rice cooker. I have been using this cooker everyday for the last 3 months with no issues at all. ... Read more

Editorial Review

All kitchen and sporting knives, whether professional quality or inexpensive, need a blade tune-up now and then. This electric sharpener produces razor-sharp edges using the same rapidly rotating Sapphirite grinding wheels used by professional shops. A two-stage system allows knives to be ground and sharpened on the Stage 1 half of the machine, and then honed on the Stage 2 half. Blade guides hold the knife at the ideal sharpening angle for each side of the blade, as it is drawn slowly towards the user and kept parallel to the countertop. The sharpener is suitable for knives made of alloy, carbon, or stainless steel; it is perfectly normal for sparks to fly when knives of high carbon steel come in contact with the Sapphirite wheels. Non-electric serrated knives that are only serrated on one side can also be sharpened with this machine. Three suction cups on the bottom hold the sharpener securely on a table or countertop, and two receptacles underneath catch metal filings for disposal. The sharpener measures 8-1/4 by 5-3/4 by 4 inches, and is covered by a two-year warranty against defects. Read more

Features

  • Electric sharpener produces razor-sharp knives in just minutes

1-0 out of 5 stars Dull
Well, I go by alot of reviews on Amazon here, but I disagree with the ones here now, maybe I bougth the lemon, I've had this for a couple of years and have never had a good sharp edge on my knives, I am sure both wheels are the same grit and the the sharpening looks the same on both wheels, I've gone back to using my file to sharpen and in 20 to 30 seconds I can sharpen my knives with a razor edge where this machine only takes the flat spots off.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Knife Sharpener
This sharpener puts a razor edge on knives. I had a draw of dull knives that I was going to throw out. After using this sharpener, these old dull knives are better than new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Impressive
What a great tool.I've tried sharpening using a steel, and I find I don't have the talent to do it well.I've bought other sharpeners, like the Mouse magnet and the ones on the backs of can openers, but this sharpener is the best of them all.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great system, but finding pods locally? Not so good
I bought the red Melitta One:One. I LOVED it for about 2 months. Then I started having trouble finding the pods. I bought this at Target, they quit selling the pods, then Linen and Things quit, no grocery store carries them, nothing local.
1-0 out of 5 stars What a POS...
Started having problems with hot water spraying out and burning those who stand in front. Contacted Melitta and they said they are aware of the issue and I have to "purchase" a pod holder adapter due to the pods are too thick. I questioned charging people for something they manufactured and were notified was defective, the dummy on the phone didn't have an answer. I do not recommend this product. Maybe a class action is due?

I recieved the FoodSaver Vaccuum Seal system as a gift along with two 11" continous roll bags. They worked great but were kind of big for some of the food that I was trying to vacuum and seal so I bought the premade package of 48 quart size bags.I have had nothing but issues with those bags since I got them. They will not vacuum and seal correctly. When I make my own bag with the continious roll material the vacuum and seal works great but not with the quart bags.Even when I have tried both types on the same night, the continious self made bag works the quart bag does not.The vacuum system works well but the quart bags do not. They look and feel like they are made from the same material. The only difference is that the quart bags are about half the width of the 11" bags and they don't stretch across the whole vacuum seal area like the 11" bags do but the manufacturer does mark-off where the optimum vacuum seal area is so you can make sure your bag covers that area and the quart bag does stretch across that area but still will not vacuum and seal.I am just going to buy the 11" roll and make my own bags.

I wish I had tried these a long time ago. They are absolutely great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hot Shot water in less than a minute!
We Purchased the black model Hotshot to compliment our kitchen appliances. We paid a little more for the black model but it has a nice up-graded design. We are very satisfied and I would recommend the unit as it has a nice appeal and works like a champ.

5-0 out of 5 stars indispensable
I have had a Hot Shot for approximately 20 years.I hope I never find it impossible to purchase another.I keep a spare one in the pantry. They are sometimes very hard to purchase.Sunbeam direct does not sell them, so many times I have had to hunt a supplier.I have bought it many times for friends and relatives. I use it daily for one thing or another. Love it.

Editorial Review

This smartly designed, finely tunable burr coffee grinder from Krups is built on the premise that good coffee starts with the freshest, most appropriate grind. Equipped with an expert-quality burr milling system, the machine turns out very consistent grounds with minimal heat for the best-tasting coffee. Its coarseness dial offers 17 distinct settings to create precisely the right grind for the occasion, brewing method, and kind of bean. In addition, the quantity dial, ranging from 2 to 12 cups, lets you grind no more coffee than you need, which helps preserve fresh aroma and flavor.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons after 10 Months of Use
After a "long term road test" of this Krups Coffee Grinder, I wanted to summarize my experience. I have used it pretty much daily. It replaced another Krups grinder (blade not burr) that I had used off and on for 20+ years.
2-0 out of 5 stars this grinder sucks.
Okay, this is the first time i've written a review, but I had to because I'm usually very easy to please.NOT this time! This grinder (for $[...]) is awful.First of all, the SECOND time i used it, the grinder was running, yet the beans wouldn't go down into the grinder and it just whizzed away (which by the way, will throw off your cups measured if it thinks it's grinding and it's not).I had to knock on it just to get the beans to grind.THEN, the even on the coarsest setting, the ground coffee was WAY too fine.Just like baby powder. It made horrible coffee that was very bitter. And don't say it's my coffee maker. It's not.Very dissapointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, low-priced Burr Grinder
So far (about two weeks) I like this grinder better than what I came from-a blade grinder. It provides a much more consistent result than a blade grinder. The size is of the machine good not too bulky, the quality of the machine is typical of something in this price point, plastic, fairly light-weight etc. Otherwise, the fit and finish should be just fine for the everyday user. Not sure it will actually hold up for the user with 'long-term' expectations though.

Employing a stainless-steel vacuum carafe instead of a warming plate, this coffeemaker brews up to 10 cups in under eight minutes for maximum flavor and aroma, and the carafe then keeps the coffee hot for several hours. The carafe prevents coffee from turning bitter, as it can when sitting on a warming plate, and doesn't have to remain with the machine for coffee to stay hot. The machine also offers a setting for brewing three to five cups without diluting the flavor or aroma. The unit's charcoal water filter removes up to 83 percent of the chlorine in tap water, and its electronic indicator shows when the water filter needs replacing. To reduce calcification, Capresso's stainless-steel ThermoBlock system prevents water from contacting aluminum inside the machine.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Complicated
I have owned this Coffeemaker for one week. I will admit it makes a great cup of coffee and the coffee does not get bitter. BUT, You must follow instructions completely and carefully, or you will have a very hot dangerous mess.
5-0 out of 5 stars A worthwhile self-indulgence
Let's get the price issue out of the way: in no way is this "worth" its price premium over other brands by virtue of its construction / materials. You are considering buying this for one reason only: coffee geek self-indulgence in search of the best possible home-brewed.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great coffee maker
I have had this model for 6 weeks now and I have no complaints. The concept of not letting the coffee sit on a hot burner makes a lot of sense. The coffee is very hot and tastes great.I take a little more time to rinse the various parts than with previous units, but this is not a problem. The design that keeps the coffee hot allows for a small spout.Although it pours very well, it is slower and takes about 7-8 seconds to fill a big mug vs 2-3 seconds with a conventional model.Again this is not a problem for me.The coffee maker is nice looking and fits in well with our kitchen. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Good value rice cooker.
I live in Japan and have owned several rice cookers. I wanted to buy one for my mother in the USA. Bowl construction is a key factor and the highest quality models in Japan have specially constructed, really thick bowls. This cooker was advertised as having an "extra thick" bowl. I was dissapointed to find out that the bowl was not near as thick as Japanese models. I don't know how the bowl will hold-up in the long run but the cooker does make very good rice. For occasional use this one should be fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS THING IS A GENIUS!
Being Japanese doesn't make me an expert in rice, but I can tell the difference in brands of rice and how recently it was harvested.I've recently been eating this high-tech microwave rice from Japan because my rice cookers have been failing to make really good rice (all three of them).
4-0 out of 5 stars great cooker

5-0 out of 5 stars The best !
This is the most used kitchen appliance in our home. When my mother-in-law gave it to us years ago (when Black & Decker first started making them), we thought of it as an "extra" that we didn't need. How wrong we were! It's the only way we steam veggies. We've given them as gifts to friends and all 3 of our daughters-in-law. Now we are building a new home and would like a new steamer for our new kitchen. Unfortunately, we cannot find a store that carries this indispensable appliance (why?!), so we will definitely buy one online.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've worn two out already!
I grew up with this steamer. When I went away to college I wore it out! When I graduated and got married I wore out another one before our first year was done.I am currently on my third and have been gentle with it since they seem to be getting harder and harder to find. But this is a fantastic product and I'd recommend it to anyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Item
Great item that has now become an essential item in my kitchen. My only problem with it is that if you are not careful when you are handling it, you may catch a blast of steam into your face as it gets very hot quickly.A really great item for the value. ... Read more

A real time-saver, this 32-ounce Hot Pot boils water 60 percent faster than a microwave. The plain white exterior makes it equally at home in an office or dorm room, and the nonstick interior can be wiped out easily with a soapy sponge (the pot should never be immersed in water). Seven settings, from low to high, allow milk to gently warm or noodle soups to come to a full boil. A one-year warranty covers the pot against defects. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars It's good....for a while
We use the Hot Pot in the office and it does indeed heat water really fast. The problem is that after only a few months (less than a year) of ownership, it started leaking like crazy. I guess we'll have to get another one. I'm glad it's cheap.

1-0 out of 5 stars Works for a while but then leaks
I've had two of these Rival hot pots. Both worked for a couple of months and then started leaking on my counters.
5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT for college students!
I recieved this hot pot as a graduation gift and it was one of the 3 things that I always used.It heats quickly, pours nicely, and cleans easily.4 years, no problems, and I'm bringing it to my new apartment.Very useful for boiling water for tea or cocoa, eggs, and pasta, and making soup.In my opinion, it is a great substitute for an electric kettle because it's shape allows for more versatility in the kitchen. ... This little 250-watt workhorse comes in handy when a full-size foodprocessor is unnecessary. The 3-cup work bowl is just right for making pesto ora salad dressing, and two receptacles in the lid have pinholes for one or twooils to stream into the bowl while the processor is blending a perfect emulsion. It's also ideal for chopping and grinding. Pressing the "chop" button deploysthe sharp edge of Cuisinart's patented reversible blade to chop onions, herbs,or bread crumbs. Pressing the "grind" button whirls the blade in the otherdirection so its blunt side can grind nuts, coffee beans, or cheese. Compact atjust 9 inches high and lightweight (it has a plastic body), the Mini Prep Pluscan be tucked away in a cabinet, and the little spatula accompanying it goesinto a drawer. It carries an 18-month warranty against defects. The plastic workbowl and lid are dishwasher-safe, but the stainless-steel blade should be handwashed to protect its edges. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this handy chopper!!!
I received my new Cuisinart DLC-2ABC Mini Prep Plus a couple of days ago.I was so excited to place this stylish little chopper on my countertop.I looks too nice to place away in a cabinet, besides I bought it for the convenience factor. My last mini chopper was so ordinary that I kept it hidden away; therefore, I would only drag it out on rare occasions. This stylish new addition to my gourmet kitchen countertop is such a jewel to have!!!I used my new Cuisinart last night for the first time to chop an onion ... whoah, what power!I've used other choppers where I had to constantly stop the process in order to toss around whatever I was chopping to have it evenly chopped. Not so with this powerful baby!It chops powerfully and evenly. The grind option is perfect in aiding the process.Additionally, the size of the 3 cup bowl is a wonderful companion to my 11 cup processor ... for those smaller tasks. My old chopper was a 1 cup capacity & in my opinion was just too small. It's easy to clean and is just waiting on it's next project ... hmmmm, what can I use it for next???

4-0 out of 5 stars A time for every seasoning......,
A time for every seasoning......and a utensil for every purpose. The Cuisinart Mini Prep does not serve well as a primary processor for heavy jobs. That was not its intended design, or function. It is not a parmesan cheese grater nor does it compete with a sharp French knife for uniformly chopping onions.
4-0 out of 5 stars Right tool for the job it was designed for
When I first bought this, I thought this was a 'mini' version of the big brother.(Now I own power prep 11 plus, as well as the belnder from cuisinart). And this is where most of the angry customers come from.If you want to 'slice', this thing isn't it.Nor is it for grinding coffee beans or anything heavy like that.In fact, I own a grinder for that exact purpose. But as one equipment review show stated (America's test *******), it's better to use the knife then any of these units or even gadgets for chopping/mincing.And they recommend coffee grandinger for grinding and I have to agree.I just never found better way to mince then a my favorite Wustof classic chef knife.Even with the dish washer, it takes too long to clean (for daily use when I run a dish washer 2x a week), and it just isn't as fine and even as a good knife.
