The items seem solid and well designed as expected, although the new plastic plunger seems to cheapen the package. It is marketed as being more convenient and sanitary, but the wood gave it a quality touch. Best Kitchen Gadget Ever

replacement
The purchase of this salad shooter replaces our 7 year old shooter. The old one stopped working due to a worn out switch. I was informed by Presto that these items are not repairable. They do not carry parts to repair them. So now my wife has a new shooter that she uses daily and that saves her a lot of time. And now I don't mind helping her with grating the veges as the shooter takes all of the work out of it. It's also very easy to clean. Any one who cooks a lot should have one of these

Does most of the jobs of a larger unit except for slicing
If you mainly use a food processor, or WANT to use a food processor for blending, chopping and pureeing foods, the Mini-Prep is such a good idea. It does about 80 percent of what a large food processor does, and it's easier to clean and takes up less space.
Gets the job done
This little thing is awesome! I have had mine for 2 years and it never fails me. If you want to chop things like peppers, onion, garlic...or make a small batch of homemade salsa, this gadget is the one to do the job. I have the large food processor I use for the big jobs, but 9 times out of 10, this is all I need. It works great for combining spices to use as rubs on your poultry, beef, etc. Anything to save a little time in the kitchen. Great performance!

It gets the small jobs done
I've owned this particular model for over a year and it gets the small jobs done. grating baby carrots, chopping onions and garlic, making salad dressing etc. However, in the past month I could smell the motor and knew it was time to upgrade.I bought the mini Prep Plus (um....and the 14 cup Cuisinart, the holy grail I must say but that will be another review)The Mini prep Plus is WAY better than this regular Mini-prep model and i highly recommend that over this.The mini Prep Plus has what feels like a stronger motor and a visibly better blade.It also appears to have a wider bowl although they both say 3 cup. I still have my mini Prep and compared them side by side and the bowls are the same height but the Plus is wider with a much better blade. It has cut my usual procesing time in 1/2 and I have not problem with bell peppers and other "tough" vgetables like I did before. If you are going to buy one, get the Mini Prep "plus" model and save yourself some time.If you are REALLY going to go for it, get the 14 cup model. Worst Customer Service in the World
I have been happy with the machine and the system. The problem is when ordering coffee from Tassimo. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced in my life. When ordering the system is not linked to the inventory system so you do not know if they are out of something that you are ordering. The worst part is they do not let you know that some of your order is back ordered, they just do not ship the order until it is all in (even if it takes more than a month). You just run out of coffee waiting. You have to call their so called customer service and then they let you know they are out and ask you to change your order.

My husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday. When I told him that I wanted the Braun Tassimo, I'm sure that he thought, "But we already have a coffee maker".Little did he know that the Tassimo is not JUST a regular coffee maker.After reading the reviews posted on Amazon, I admit that I was quite apprehensive.People were complaining about how loud the machine was.One reviewer described it being as loud as a machine gun??I admit that it is not as quiet as my regular coffee maker but it certainly is not as loud as some people described.When we first tried it out, our newborn infant was sleeping in the room right beside the kitchen.She didn't wake at all.

I do love the coffee but I wish that the disks were recyclable. There's a plastic part with a foil top that has to be thrown in the trash after each use. Out here in Oregon we hate to throw anything into the trash. Tassimo would be doing the earth a big favor if it could figure out how to make a biodegradable or recyclable disk. ... Read more

Worthlessto the Nth!
Any serious Cuisinart owner/dailer user with their fine array of multiple blades needs a serious storage/accessible medium for those blades. NOT a counter-top "display" item! Cuisinart offered and I have two, pricey stands/racks, with no lids or protection yet they calculated the number of discs per rack wrong. Cuisinart should come up with a secure disc-holder to smartly accomodate ALL discs/blades for a given model and which - if it becomes dirty, wouldn't mind a trip through the dishwasher!

Lock problem
Had to return the first one because of a lock malfunction (it locked but would not unlock).Amazon was great about responding immediately and replacing it promptly.However, the lock on the second one does not work properly, either (it doesn't lock), though I will keep it, since keeping little hands safe is not an issue in my home. This item is a good way of storing blades and disks, but unless Cuisinart comes up with a more reliable locking mechanism, don't count on it to protect small hands from getting into it.

This is a super convenient item. I don't lock it so messing with the lock is not an issue. The lock could probably be a little more user friendly. It stores everything just great. Not so green thumb!
Aerogarden doesn't live up to it claims.Plants on outside corners underperform. I contacted Aerogarden directly and they sent me a new pump, which means you have to disassemble the unit and take the plant pods out to install. New pump doesn't seem to make much difference.Save your $ and grow your herbs outside during growing season!

Cool gadget - one caveat
This is one of these more useful kitchen gadgets. Every time I need fresh herbs for a recipe, I end up buying one of those expensive packs, use one or two twigs, and end up tossing the rest, and everytime it irks me. So this looks like it solves that problem, and do so without becoming this huge time sink that a full-blown herb garden would do.

I only just purchased my AeroGarden, so I have nothing to harvest just yet, but I wanted to comment on the high quality of the package, and the ease of setup.I was very pleasantly surprised.The instruction manual was clearly written and diagrammed.You simply screw in the light bulbs, attach the light to the base, add water, drop the seed packets into their slots (clearly marked), cover them, plug it in, drop in a couple of tablets and you're good to go.

Aha! Yet again, the infomercial sends its siren song when you are up watching tv on a sleepless night. Is it the wooziness of insomnia, or is the Magic Bullet the best thing since a food processor for the kitchen. Here's my opinion.

I have read the other reviews about the ice and gears wearing out.I have had mine for about a month now.I put ice in it everyday and frozen fruit.It hasn't stopped working yet.I drink smoothies for breakfast almost every morning.I love the way this think makes one cup.When I used to use my blender it made about 3 times as much as I needed.Plus, I hated the clean up.

This is the one to get for long term use and health.
Our family has owned this juicer since last Christmas. When we are at our most conscientious, it is used several times a day, every day of the week to juice all manner of fruits and vegetables and it still works the same as the first day, very well. It is the juice extractingest juicer I have ever seen, nevermind owned. A stack of strongmen on top of a wooden press couldn't get out more juice. The difference in the amount of juice this produces out of a same sized fruit or vegetable vs. other machines is quite amazing. This will save you money on groceries whether you are using organic or not.
Achilles heel - clogged filter basket and dull teeth
When you pay $300 for a juicer you expect Hi-Q all the way. This machine has a powerful motor and a heavy-duty stainless steel look. But, oh, it lets you down! I've owned one for 6 months and take pretty good care to rinse and wash the parts after use. But apparently pretty good is not enough. After 6 months my 3 times a week carrot-beet juice seems to have KOed the filter basket. Plus the "titanium cutting wheel" seems now to have dulled itself sending gobs of wet pulp to the waste catcher rather than into my juice. It amounts to$60+ replacement. What a sting!

Replacement filters are a must!
I have had my Hamilton Beach Brewstation coffee maker for quite some time and just didn't think about changing the filter until I saw them on Amazon and decided to order them.I changed out the old filter (Yuch! I won't say what it looked like...) and I immediately noticed a better taste in my coffee.The handle has a dial you can set to tell you which month the filter should be changed out, so just remember to check it now and then.

Not my favorite appliance
I was given this sandwich press as a gift.Honestly, I feel it is just another specialty appliance to take up storage in my kitchen.If I could open it up all the way so that I get more surface area than my skillet - and have it double as a griddle, that would make it more worth having for me.But other than toasting/pressing a sandwich, I would use my skillet for any of the other uses it suggests because I can adjust the temperature on my range. I wish the sandwich press temperature was adjustable.

Good product, Good Value
This is a significant improvement over the 750 model. The 750 model was not very well designed. The first one we purchased broke within 3 days because the blade came up and hit the plastic. We returned this. We got the 760 to replace that. The 760 has been redesigned to avoid this problem. For the same price as the 750, the 760 comes with one extra bowl,juicer and egg whisk. Compared with others like the Cuisinart and we determined that this was much better constructed.

Proctor Silex Food Chopper
My second one.Perfect for that small chopping job.Makes chicken salad, turkey salad, egg salad, ham salad, shrimp salad and tuna salad sandwiches tast better being ground up finer than cutting with a knife.

I got this food processor in order to make pesto sauce.I'm sure it will work will salsa and bruschetta, as well.It's the perfect size, dishwasher safe (blade, cup, and lid), and it chops very cleanly.It's so easy to use and store since it's so small. For making just a little bit of pesto, maybe just a quarter cup, it would really be annoying to have to take out and clean a larger food processor.But this food chopper is the perfect size for such a small amount...or anything up to 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups really.I'm really glad I bought this...and it was just the right price. No need to get a larger, clumsy, and more expensive larger food processor that won't get used as often.

We are very pleased with the Oster egg cooker. We have had it for approximately one month. It took us a little while to get the proper water level to cook only two soft boiled eggs at a time. Now that we have, it is excellent. Cooking two poached eggs to perfection is very easy. Hard boiled eggs are a snap! We purchased this model because of the automatic shut-off which works just fine. We have found that using filtered water rather than tap water keeps the cooker base cleaner. However, regardless, it is easy to clean and we have used the cream of tartar which takes care of any residual minerals that build up.
