4-0 out of 5 stars Nice and less pricey now...alternatives
My friends have one of these that I've used and it is very nice, but I could not handle the price (a year or more ago). After some searching, I found the Hitachi RZST10Y fuzzy rice cooker and ordered it at $89.They have only 1 US reseller so far as I can tell.It has been great. The same "fire-and-forget" function. Now that Zojirushi prices aren't quite so inflated, I would consider them next time. But hmmm., I did not know until I stopped here that the "Z" models will need to have their internal battery surgically replaced in future.I need to see if the Hitachi has a user-replaceable battery. That was something I was not aware of with these and not sending it back to NYC in 3 years would be a plus :)
5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect rice and porridge every time
This product rates five stars because it does what it is supposed to: turn out perfectly cooked rice as and when you want it, every time you use it. The non-stick bowl is easy to clean, and the inner lid, while not non-stick, at least pops out easily and gets clean with a little elbow grease, although I would highly recommend spraying it with non-stick spray before cooking anything sticky (like oatmeal). I will say, however, that after reading the reviews here I was expecting the rice this cooker produced to be a revelation. And, in fact, the rice this cooker makes tastes... like rice.Exactly the same as properly cooked rice on the stove top. It's that "properly cooked" part that is the beauty of using a rice maker. No more forgetting the rice is on the stove and boiling the water out or getting the timing wrong. With a rice cooker you add the desired quantity of rice, the appropriate amount of water for the type of rice and the texture you want, press a button and you get perfect rice without ever having to worry about it overcooking. When the water is gone the machine switches automatically to "keep warm" mode and will keep the rice perfectly warm and fluffy for hours.Or you can reheat it if you need it just-finished hot.You can get the same safety zone by baking your rice in the oven, but what a waste of energy.A rice machine takes up less space than a food processor, doesn't heat up the kitchen and uses far less engergy than the oven.So it's a worthwhile investment if you like rice. The real question is whether you need to spend the extra C-note to get a neuro fuzzy cooker.
5-0 out of 5 stars The cooked rice smells good to heaven
It's really my pleasure to cook with this rice cooker.I always set the cook time as 6:30AM, the tasty smell just sweetened my dream, I love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
I have had this product for almost a year now and I absolutely love it! Cocoa ALWAYS comes out perfect. I've never used it for other drinks as I am not a coffee drinker, but I assume they come out just as good as the cocoa! I would recommend this to anyone :) :)

5-0 out of 5 stars Starbucks quality hot chocolate @ home
I received this item as a gift and it was the best present anyone could have given me! Not an item I would typically buy for myself, this hot cocoa maker has changed the way I feel about hot chocolate and other warm beverages. It is so easy to use allowing anyone to make Starbucks quality hot chocolate (and other beverages) out of store-bought powders at home. It's AMAZING!!!And every time it heats it to the perfect temperature making sure that even the youngest don't burn their tongues.
3-0 out of 5 stars Many flaws and problems...makes a good cup of cocoa though.
The first one I bought leaked after a week.It was replaced and the second machine leaked after 6 months...could not take it back because the store stopped stocking this machine.

Editorial Review

For a century and a half, since a woman in New York invented the hand-crank freezer, making ice cream has been an American family value. Mom blended the ice cream mixture; Dad filled the maker's wooden tub with ice and rock salt to achieve the below-freezing temperature needed to produce smooth confections; kids clamored to turn the crank; and everyone happily consumed big bowls of ice cream as a reward. This family-bonding activity remains as vibrant today as it was through a century-and-a-half of "progress." With various ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbet recipes included, this old-fashioned White Mountain ice cream maker maintains the tradition. Only the use of modern stainless steel for the freezer can and dasher and the electric motor distinguish this rugged maker from the one earlier generations enjoyed. And years from now it will still be used, knitting together a family's history. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars whitemountain 6qt electric ice cream maker
The best home made ice cream ever.Easy to operate.Great recipes come with machine.Well worth the cost.

5-0 out of 5 stars White Mountain is the ONLY way to go!
We had a White Mountain Freezer for AGES and the motor broke when it was dropped.Since there was a cheap (and I DO mean CHEAP) little Rival machine on sale for a mere $13, we decided we would try it - what could it hurt?Well, so much for icky soft-serve.It was just useless. When you put the "finished product" (and I use the term loosely) in the freezer, it froze solidly and you couldn't scoop it out.
5-0 out of 5 stars Everything we expected
Freezer works great - everything we expected. It is noisy, but freezes a large batch of ice cream in 20 minutes. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Never got it started
I wanted to like this machine and was excited to receive it. Unfortunately the top wouldn't fit properly into the base and it had to be returned. I'm ordering a different brand today.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent grinder
I was buying pre-grinded coffee in my local coffee shop, unit I bought some very nice beans. So, I decided to buy a grinder. After some research on the internet, I decided on Capresso Infinity. Now I have it for about a month and it works perfectly, grind very well, no mess whatsoever. Overall, a very very good product, that exceed my expectations. Highly reccomended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good coffee requires a good grinder!
I am delighted, and completely satisfied with my Capresso 560 cone burr grinder. After giving up on blade grinders five years ago, I had used a Capresso 551 flat burr grinder. This grinder was a great improvement and I was satisfied.Over the years, because of things that were my fault, I had to write to Capresso for help.Their response was fast, complete and satisfactory. When the 551 gave up (likely from overwork) I bought an inexpensive Melita burr grinder. On its finest setting, it would not grind nearly fine enough for my espresso machine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good concept - Unreliable
Worked great on first usuage.By the 4th time I used the unit, it would boil for a minute past boiling, spewing steam and water out of the pot. Yes the metal pot does get hot, but I like the stainless steel. I am reordering a replacement unit due to the strong recommendations of other owners.I was very disappointed that Target was unable to handle my return.

2-0 out of 5 stars great while it lasted
great kettle, until it broke, after about 6 months of use. This seems to be a design flaw.

2-0 out of 5 stars burns toast
This toaster at the lowest setting of 1 burns my toast. It also burned one side of a frozen bagel when I put it on defrost.
5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Toaster!
We love our shiny white Cuisinart Toaster. It's definitely worth the [...] we spent -- a real bargain! We love that it toasts so much quicker and more evenly than the toaster oven we've been tolerating for the past several years. One minor drawback: my husband called me in to show me how the rye bread he was toasting was just a little too long for the slots. We don't see this as a huge deal, though. The bagel and defrost settings are great.I especially like the cool-touch feature -- no one gets burned if they need to handle this toaster immediately after using it.
4-0 out of 5 stars NICE TOASTER
This toaster is great. The cord is a normal length and can be placed out the back or the side. The bottom has a cord wrap to store it. When its plugged in, the number on he dial is always lit. 5-0 out of 5 stars Good Fortune with my Breadman 2500
After reading other reviews, I took my life in my hands and ordered the Breadman 2500.Fortunately, I have had no trouble with the machine at any of the stages.Having baked bread by hand regularly for over 40 years, I was surprised to find the Breadman texture quite acceptable. Here are a couple of tips I got from the company while trying to do the basic set up:1. When you turn on the machine to "burn off manufacturing oils", take the bread pan out and leave the top of the machine open. This was not mentioned in the booklet.2.When you set the cycle you want for a loaf, don't expect to see words like "white bread" -you get only the amount of time it takes to run the full cycle.Keep pressing "Select" until the arrow on the right stops where you want it.Then do the same with "Crust Control" and "Loaf Size".Then you're ready to push "Start".3.After you have completed the entire baking, push the Reset button and hold down for 4 seconds.Do this as well if the electricity goes off but you are not baking, or if you unplug the machine. This precautionary measure will keep you from finding yourself in an emergency cycle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best food processor out there
I've been a Kitchen Aid customer for 12 years.I own at 12 year Kitchen Aid foor processor, and recently rec'd this one for a housewarming gift.Kitchen Aid is one of the few companies out there making a quality product. In the 12 years that I've owned my food processor, never had any maintenance on it, nothing has ever broken, and it is used at least once a week.I would still be using it if we hadn't received a new one. My new one is gorgeous! It makes quick work of chopping, grating, even mixing from time to time.Definately a worthwhile investment and great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Built like a tank
This is a heavy duty processor with an industrial strength motor. It slices, it dices, it chops. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. The unit is well made.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent unit, great price
After reading Amazon reviews (and other online reviews) I selected this unit. I work in a small professional kitchen and needed a good quality processor without the upper price tag that a Cuisinart/Robot Coupe would have.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Coffee Pot
I bought this to use on the stove top of a travel trailer. This is much better than the aluminum camp mess kit pots I have also used. The stainless steel is sturdier and more attractive. There is a spring on the pump that pushes the basket tight to the lid, virtually eliminating the spill over of grounds you get with the simpler, mess kit percolators. And the plastic handle means you don't need a potholder or towel or sweater hem to safety pour from the pot.Since reading the other reviews about the plastic lid top breaking, I have been using my fingernails to help lift the lid from the rim. This is a good coffee pot, and the price is right.

4-0 out of 5 stars quite surprised
I got tired of the drip and wanted something new to me. I read somuch about the plastic top and worried. I saw the replacement glass cost $8. I also had no Idea how to do this thing. Well, it's been 3 nice days of excellent coffee. I get about 20 cups from 1 lb. of coffee at the strength I like. At Costco price, that's about $6 for 20 cups or .30 a cup. It tastes much better than Starbucks, but requires work and attention.
5-0 out of 5 stars Found the best cup of coffee
My husband has been searching for months to get a good cup of coffee at home.He has tried different coffee makers and different coffees.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I had only used my fryer a handful of times before I noticed a significant decrease in heat. It was nowhere near the temperature indicated on the dial and I would have to increase the heat frequently just to keep cooking at a lower than desired heat. By the end of the second or third batch I have the dial maxed and it's barely adequate to get the job done. The troubleshooting guide in the manual made no mention of this particular issue. I've gone back to frying in a pan and shopping around for another deep fryer.
4-0 out of 5 stars VERY VERY EASY TO CLEAN LIKE NEW
I ONLY HAVE THIS ITEM A SHORT TIME. SO I DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL DEVELOP A LEAK AS I SAW IN ANOTHER REVIEW. BUT,MY UNIT WORKS VERY NICELY SO FAR. THE WHOLE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS FRYER IS HOW EASY IT IS TO CLEAN WITHOUT TOUCHING THE OIL IN ANY WAY. THE WHOLE THING COMES APART IN TEN SECONDS, GOES INTO THE DISHWASHER AND COMES OUT LIKE NEW.IT AUTOMATICALLY FILTERS AND DRAINS THE OIL. YOU END UP WITH A TUPPERWARE TYPE CONTAINER WITH PRETTY CLEAN OIL TO USE AGAIN AND AGAIN. THE UNIT HOWEVER IS PRETTY SMALL. FOR EXAMPLE IT MAKES ABOUT TWO NICE PORTIONS OF FRENCH FRIES AT A TIME.

3-0 out of 5 stars Clean But Flimsy
I'm not as confident using this product as I was my Delonghi Safely Fryer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Terrific Espresso Maker!
I used to use an all-glass $150 Cona vacuum pot to make coffee. Then I discovered the Aeropress. It not only makes better coffee, it's smaller, not fragile, easier to use and faster to clean.
5-0 out of 5 stars What a cuppa Joe!
I bought this for my sister, but just had to try it out...spend some time reading the instructions, it sounds like a lot, but once you do it it's a piece of cake. Makes some of the best coffee I've ever tasted, stores neatly too. I will be giving away the other 4 coffee makers I have, this is it. You can make a concentrate that stores in the fridge, expresso for two or americano for 4. You must use the right grind, ( drip or expresso) scoop the coffee in the tube after placing a filter (1 year supply included) in the bottom screw on mesh. Drizzle some hot but not boiling water on to the grounds to wet them , them pour in the water to measure for how many cups you want from 1 to 4, stir the water and grounds 10 sec. then put in plunger and press SLOWLY down. By using water around 165 degrees, ie not boiled, you get flavor smoothness and richness. Then you put the concentrate in a cup and now you can add boiling water if you want it really hot. Fabulous, better than my friend's $900 unit. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a toaster that works
After reading about this toaster in the Wall Street Journal, I just had to give it a try.I've had several toasters over the years that never really made that perfect piece of toast. This one is truely the cadillac of toasters and I finally get my perfect toast.

4-0 out of 5 stars so far, so good
Have owned it now for 3 weeks with no problem. My last toaster from a different manufacturer stopped working on one side after 2 weeks. Best part is the lever which raises the hot bread up so you can reach it easier. I like toast dark, and most controls even at the extreme dark setting leave toast only slightly dark. The 10 setting on this really toasts dark.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor performance
After thoroughly checking toaster reviews and ratings (this got top ratings), I had to return it after several attempts to get it to produce evenly toasted bread.Very disappointing; my old Toastmaster (much less expensive) does better. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Tips for Senseo - non-invasive volume adjustment
We have this machine at work. We are using individually sealed pods from Target. The coffee is pretty good although nothing beats using fresh ground beans, which you are not going to get with the pods.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Coffee Maker!!!
I had given up on coffee due to the cleaning and waste, but now I am back. AND I can change my mind on the flavor from cup to cup. LOVE IT!

4-0 out of 5 stars Senseo-able solution for a casual coffee drinker
Disclosure: I have received Senseo HD7810/15 Single Serve Coffee Machine free of charge for the sole purpose of evaluating its performance and giving my fair opinion of its operation and quality.

Editorial Review

Designed to be used with all Tilia FoodSaver vacuum-packaging machines, the two rolls of material in this package can be cut and sealed at both ends to create custom-size food-storage bags. Each roll is 8 inches wide and 22 feet long. The material is a three-layer construction--two plastic layers and an outer layer of nylon--that keeps moist foods moist, dry foods dry, and all foods from leaking odor. Bags can go directly into a microwave oven or boiling water to reheat food. They are resealable, reusable, and dishwasher-safe. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great price for these rolls
You can't beat this price for these rolls. If you own the machine, you'll want more of the bags to seal and store, for sure. This is the best price I could find on this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars These Are Okay, But I Like the 11" Better
The basic concept appears sound.Smaller foods need smaller width bags. However, in practice we rarely use the 8 inch width. There are a few things that fit better in the 8 inch width, but considering that almost everything that we routinely use in the kitchen will fit in the 11 inch width, we tend to use that width most of the time.
4-0 out of 5 stars rolls vs. bags
The 8x11.5" quart bags are more convenient to use, but I figured the 8" x 22' rolls would be more cost-effective.As it turns out, the rolls (at $18.69 for 44 bags' worth - assuming a foot per use) are slightly more expensive than the bags (at $18 for 48), so you might as well get the bags.As for being able to use more or less as needed, I've found that I can re-seal or re-use the bags, thus leaving me an assortment of available sizes when I've used their previous contents. It is occasionally useful to have larger sizes, so I would recommend purchasing the bags in the quart size & the rolls in the larger 11" x 18' to give a wide range of useful applications. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Hit of the Beach
Just back from a week at Cape Hatteras with the crew.We have a total of 9 couples who have shared a house in Sept/Oct for many years now. This was the first true test of the Frozen Concoction Maker and it passed with flying colors.Probably had about a years worth of normal usage in a week and amazed everyone (and we are very serious about our margaritas - we even have a gas powered blender for making frozen drinks on the beach)
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Invention of Mankind
This is how my boyfriend described this machine and although that may be a little extreme, it sure is a purchase I'm glad I made! It seems very well-designed and sturdy. I expect to be enjoying delicious frozen concoctions from it for a long, long time! It's so cool, it's even fun to watch it do it's thing! The price is a bit steep, but I seemed to forget all about that when I got to sit down and enjoy a delicious pina colada! I looked at this item on other sites, but saved over $30.00 in S&H and tax by ordering it from Amazon with their free shipping! That's a plus!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Prior to purchasing thethe machine I read the prior reviews.I must tell you that I highly recommened the maker if you want a great margarita.

4-0 out of 5 stars good coffeemaker
This seems to be a very good coffeemaker, works well...coffee is tasty, pretty easy to program, and not as bulky as some.

3-0 out of 5 stars Better than others but sure not like Krups of the past...
Not the easiest to use features but it makes great coffee.I actually miss the old Krups that had a little less automation but gave one more control. The old glass water level indicator has been replaced by a cheap plastic tube.It kept giving a false reading because of an air bubble inside and then broke off up at the top of the maker. No more air bubble but we have to keep it secured to the maker with Scotch tape. They just don't make things like they used to but the prices keep going up, don't they?Too bad because I think Krups is still nicer than some of the alternatives.

4-0 out of 5 stars A reliable coffee maker
We have used it at the office every day since purchase. It works well. A good value. It is my second Krups coffee maker. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to do and looks good doing it.
I bought this oven primarily for toast and light baking (potatos, frozen entres, etc.) but it has been deceptively versatile once you catch on to it's capabilities.Just about anything that can be baked or gratineed in a full size oven can be handled in smaller serving sizes in the Sanyo Convection Oven.
4-0 out of 5 stars Sleek little oven
I bought this as a replacement for my old DeLonghi convection which my daughter was taking off to college. It toasts fine, and I would have given it 5 stars xcept that Sanyo decided to call it digital. Yes, it has a touchpad for 1, 2, or more slices of toast, but what's that about???? This is not a microwave, so the toasting should not be quantity-dependent; why not just have us toast longer? There is also a touchpad for temperature which is calibrated not in 50 degree increments as are our reg ovens, etc, but instead at such odd temps as 180-250-320-400-470; maybe the boxes of frozen food say different things in Japan? That said, I think I will adapt and be able to use this oven just fine.It is exactly the right size for my counter, prettier than my other one, and the shelf is conveniently attached to the door so the food slides out toward you when you open the door, without burning yourself on the hot shelf!

5-0 out of 5 stars ideal toaster oven
This purchase is totally worth the price as it has many of the features of higher priced models and works perfectly. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars I would not buy anoter one of these toster ovens
We had this toaster oven for about 30 days and the half of the heating elements when bad.It never did seem to do a great job toasting. The toaster oven part is small which is ok if you can live with that.I do like the idea of having a toaster and toaster oven in one though!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst toaster I ever owned
On the highest toast setting, I have to push the lever down at least 4 times to get bread even slightly browned. All it does is heat the bread.I've been unable to cancel toasting, resorting to pulling the plug. The mechanism that holds the bread leaves too much room on the side and the bread falls into the oven. For a toaster that gives off a lot of heat, it unfortunately doesn't direct it at the bread. If I hadn't lost my receipt, I would have returned it immediately.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bought this for my daughter who has limited counter space.
She wanted a toaster oven that didn't take up much room and was surprised when she saw it was nice and compact (and good looking)and that bagels or bread could be toasted in the top slots. That gave her more space because she could put the regular toaster away. It does a very nice job, too. ... Read more
