Bad Taste
I've had this crock pot for a year and I've given it every chance possible.Now I'm going to ditch it.The problem for me has been TASTE.I hate the taste of food cooked in this pot.
Used very little, knob cracked, lid "spits" steam
I own 4 other Rival crock pots and have never had any problems.One of those is a VERY old one inherited from my wonderful mother.This one spits so much steam from the lid while cooking I was afraid to leave it on while I was away from the house.I came home after first use to find the pot sitting in a lake of water!I was sure I must have not put lid on correctly.I still used it a few more times while I was home to supervise.This has been used very rarely and today the knob just disintegrated in my hand when I turned it on!This is not the usual good quality of my other Rival products.Found this site searching for a replacement knob only to find out there has been a recall!

Handles and temperature knob cracked and falling off!!
I only have used this about 8 times for just my husband and myself.I took it out yesterday and the temperature knob fell off in two pieces in my hand.Then I noticed the handles are all cracked and ready to come apart.VERY DANGEROUS.This gets very hot and if lifted it would cause a real problem. ... Don't Buy It!
I have had a crockpot for many years and loved it but I wanted a larger one.I got this one as a gift and hate it.It gets too hot inside and outside.I only used mine 3 times and each time I used it, it cooked my food quicker and quicker.By the 3rd time it cooked my food (that was supposed to take 8 hours on low) in about 1 1/2 hours! Love it!!!!
I was surprised to see so many people were disappointed with this crockpot. I absolutely love mine. I love that it will cook and automatically set to warm once the cooking time is done. I have no complaints and find it to be very useful. I would highly recommend this brand for anybody interested in getting a crock pot.

It's great if you like uncooked soup!
I have had this crock pot for 2 years now and about twice a year I wonder why I don't use it, get it out and try to make soup with it. And what I find out every time is that this thing is a piece of garbage!!! I just tried to make pea soup with it and after 10 hours on high, yes 10 hours, it still wasn't close to being done. The outside gets hot enough to roast marshmallows, and the inside still had my split peas and carrots uncooked, swimming around in water. Broken handle on lid
I purchashed my crock pot because I liked the one that a friend of mine had. I used it a couple of times everything was great, but then I went to use it for the third time and the handle on the lid broke off. I was very disappointed because I have other smaller crock pots and never have had a problem with them. Now I have this crock pot that I can't even use. I just think that the design of the handle should be better. Now I have to purchase another crock pot just to get the lid.

Doesn't hold up
The second time I started useing this Crock-Pot the handles started to break off and by the time I finished cooking that second time the handle was completely broken off of the lid.<br /> The worst part is I can't even return it because I recieved it as a Christmas gift and did not recieve a gift receipt.

There is no "low" on this pot
I ruined several roasts in this pot until I realized it was the pot, not me.There is no "low" on this pot.Only hot and warm.The low setting is hot and everything cooks twice as fast as it should, boiling around the edges as it goes. I complained, shipped mine back to Rival and got a new pot.Today in the new pot, my chicken cooked in 2 hours as opposed to the 6 the recipe called for.Doesn't matter how full I fill it, either.The pot is also hot to the touch.Look elsewhere. ...
