Almost Perfect
This deveiner works better than more expensive ones that I have purchased. The handle is very comfortable, however the plastic teeth do tear the shrimp a bit if not very careful. If the teeth were made of very razor sharp metal, it would be perfect.

Great tool for a messy job!
I love OXO things anyhow. But this one proves WHY. The fat rubbery handle is easy to hold, doesn't slip. The curve and serrations are designed just right. I had to clean several pounds of shrimp. The thought of doing it buy just my fingers was depressing. I checked AMAZON.com for "shrimp deveiners" and this (among other) tool showed up. Boy, a worthy tool at a very reasonable price!

AWESOME!
If I could give it 10 stars I would. I have NEVER tasted better meat,chicken, or fish. 20 mins in the tumbler with ANY marinade and the food is 200% infused with the flavor of your marinade. The clean up is SUPER easy. Throw the tumbler in the dishwasher and take 1 minute to wash the top. No need to remove the rubber seal from the top, as that will decrease the longevity. The seal doesn't let anything get in that will contaminate it anyways. This is absolutely the indespensible kitchen item for non-vegetarians :-) As a test I put in thawed thick cut bacon in it with some maple syrup and pepper and it was so good I made another pound immediatly afterwards. Works excellent on venison. No gamey taste and as I said earlier,,it totally infuses the meat with flavor. Additionally you don't have to baste your meat in between flips on the grill or whatever technique you use. Buy this product NOW! I know it sounds like a review written by an employee of the company, but I assure you I'm an Air Force man with a wife and two kids. We use this machine at least 4 nights a week.

pure garbage - refurbished
I didn't even bother completely unpacking the thing. Old worn unsealed box, all the plastic surfaces looked as is scrubbed with 'Comet cleanser', sheen of grease residue on plastic too. The bag that the instructions were enclosed in had been through the mill too. I've been a long time Amazon customer and this is the first time I've seen this type of garbage. Therefore I put it on the manufacturer and not Amazon. If I buy a used, refurbished item I don't expect to pay full price.

Very disappointed
I was very disappointed the Shrimp 8utler was not effect for my purpose.I bought the item to peel hundreds of shrimps I need for different events & found that it is quicker to peel the shrimps by hand.

These are fairly handy because of the elongated scoop on one end. The other end doesn't see much action. I use a small seafood fork instead. The cracker is nice. It's very sturdy and well made.

What else do you expect from Global?
These Fish Bone Tweezers from Global were the first fishbone tweezers that I encountered while building my kitchen tool arsenel some time ago. The dimpled sides provide good grip, and the metal, although not the prized molybdenum/vanadium steel variety that they mold their larger knives with, is durably hardened and has held its edge well. These tweezers are about the only ones I've tried because so far they've been good enough for anything I've thrown at them. Professional Skill Knife - Not for the amateur
This is an excellent knife but not for the amateur.It is designed to open an oyster from the side by sliding it along the side groove along the top and bottom shell. By entering from the side you can cut the abductor muscle and flip the top-shell off.It is not a "top-popper" that is designed to open the oyster from the hinge.However, if you sharpen this knife it can be used for hinge-entry by moving the knife with a side-to-side motion while applying pressure, once an incision is made you can then turn your wrist while rocking and pop the hinge.In any case, shucking is an art that you develop over time.I shuck for a living and anyone (a previous reviewer) who takes 20 minutes to open 36 oysters is not a professional but is laughable.The bottom line is if you don't open oysters on a regular basis, and don't really know how to open an oyster, then get a top popper knife with a thick shaft.But if you know what you are doing or want to learn the slick and easy way to open an oyster, this knife is exceptional and I use it every day.

Dont waste your time
i bought this oyster knife because i work in alaska and i have to shuck oysters daily i went to use it on the first oyster and it bent it took me over an hour to shuck 6 orders (36 oysters) which normally would take we 20-25 mins so i suggest that you do not buy this knife go to a local kitchen supply store and purchase one from them

This is not an oyster knife.
It is preposterous that they would even call this thing an oyster knife.This piece of garbage was literally destroyed after opening one raw oyster.I could see that was going to happen before I even tried it.It's just a flimsy thin piece of sheet metal.Anyone who has shucked raw oysters knows how much torque it takes and how rigid the blade needs to be.Apparently these guys don't know anything about that.Shame on "OXO/Good Grips" for calling this thing an oyster knife. ... I'm a bit of a cooking geek, so I had bought the New Cooks Catalog at Barnes & Nobel. They suggested this knife for clams, and, I had a couple, but, I have clambakes every so often so I can always use an extra. And now I'm looking at the catalog and realizing the main reason I bought it was I liked the picture. But the truth is, this knife is MUCH better than the other ones I have, no contest. It's got great grip and is really quick-when you have a bunch of people over and there's some knife-sharing going on, that's especially helpful. It's so easy to use ... well, I don't want to recommend a baby using it, but I think a baby COULD use it if no one else was around to open the clams. Simply dangerous
I have one very similar to this, same design, material, just a different brand.It's dangerous to use it to crack crab shells as it is nearly impossible to keep a firm grip on the smooth surface.Also the jaws aren't designed to really clamp around anything and the teeth are rounded and useless.Since the handles are also so short, it is not possible to really gain any leverage. ...
