Insert the card into the appropriate slot and enter a personal ID to get a personal greeting and an exact balance. You can also insert real dollar bills and coins, and the machine will add those amounts to the account. A cash drawer at the bottom pops open for withdrawals. The beeps, lights, and robotic voice resemble those one might find on a spaceship; it's almost as if you're withdrawing funds from the HAL 9000 rather than the ATM machine down the block. Not worth the money (or saving for it)
What a disappointment. My son eagerly opened up the box and set up his name and password and that's about as far as he could get before it started dying.After feeding about 5 quarters into it, it stopped registering the amount.Also, the quarters made the coin slot mechanism too large and now won't register the smaller dimes, pennies, etc. I think we'll just go back to the old-style piggy bank for now...

Great Concept - Horrible Execution
My mother bought this for my [...] son.He loves the idea, but has a hard time getting it to work.The machine takes bills only about 10% of the time.It's extremely frustrating for him.Second, the bills and coins dump into one compartment.When you open the compartment to make a withdrawal, they all tend to spill out.If they improved both those problems it would be a great toy.As it is now, I would not waste my money on it.

I think it's junk but son likes it.
My son is having fun with the bank but he does get frustrated with the bill feeder. It is very touchy and doesn't accept the bill most of the tmie. The coin slot isn't always accurate. Most times it counts pennies as dimes so your balance is off. I wanted to take it back but my son (age 6) says he still likes it and just opens the "withdrawal door" to put the bills in when the feeder won't take them. Money jar
How cute is this.I got it for my 2 year old grandson.He already had a little water jug full of change but when I tried to count it for him he just kept putting the money back in.This is soooo much better.He is learning to save and I don't have to add it up!!!

Broke within one hour
Great idea...poor design!We gave this bank to my son for his birthday and it stopped working within one hour.He was very excited and then very sad!

Great Sorter for end of the day change
I have had one of these sorters for over a year and have had no problems.I use it without the wrappers so there are no jams.When i get home each night I just throw the change from my pockets in there and once a week hit the sort button.When I see a full chamber I wrap the coins and put in a safe place until the next time I go to the bank.Its so easy to use.I have one in each bedroom of my house so everyone can use it.

Great Product
The product does exactley what it is intended to do.Drop the coins and and they sort into there respective chambers.I have been using the coin sorter for several days now and have not had any jamming issues and all the coins were deposited into the correct slot.They have more expensive products that may be better suited for your needs, however for simple coin sorting of extra change at the end of the day, this product is perfect!

It may be fire proof but it's not drop proof!!!
I don't know if it's fire-safe (haven't had a fire) but it's certainly not drop proof. I moved last year. The safe was stacked on a box about two feet off the ground. My husband accidentally knocked it off the box and the safe fell open! Curious about wheter this was a fluke, I closed the safe, locked it and knock it off the box again. Same thing- it popped right open.
A review NOT from a seller
The other review is so obviously someone from SENTRY that I thought I'd add my two cents. My house hasn't burned down so I don't know if this works, but I've read other articles that say it does. It is heavy (since the foam contains water to evaporate and dissipate heat in a fire), and there is no rubber grips on the bottom, so it can slide around a lot. It's a lot cheaper and more convient than renting a safety deposit box.

Great motivation for saving
My [...] daughter bought this for herself with some money she got for Christmas last year.Since then, she has saved every penny (except for a quarter here and there for a gum ball) to deposit in her "bank".The digital display only excites her more as she drops in her change or dollars so she can see her savings increase.There is also a zero balancing button inside the vault so kids can start counting all over again rather than withdrawing all of their money first.It has helped her dramatically with respect to seeing the benifit of saving money and not wanting to rush to the dollar store every time she earns some money, and has also helped her with her money counting skills.This past school year she was introduced currency and it's values, and having this ATM machine made learning fun.
broke too soon...
My son loved it, it was great at the start. But then the trouble started, batteries died, balance never matched, the bill feeder broke, atm card got lost, finally the combination lock broke. It just wasn't worth the money.

Mixed feelings
This bank is great if you don't plan on opening it often (or don't want it opened by you children!).The lock doesn't work very smoothly, and usually doesn't open on the 1st try.It also does not recognize $1 coins.Counts them as quarters.Otherwise it is a great concept, and has taught my children that there needs to be money IN an ATM before it can be taken out and used.Both my children also like that they can quickly see how much money they have saved. ... Very good
While it has jammed a few times, this sorter seems to work well.Although this is the first coin sorter I have ever purchased, it seems to get the job done quickly.

Digital Coin Sorter
This item was a bit of a disappointment.It jams often and counting of the coins is not very accurate.If I had it to do over I could have purdchased a coin counter for half the price and probably would have been happy with it.

Plugs in & uses batteries?
Seemed to sort well, but LCD seemed easy to confuse...and why have to fuss with adding batteries for the LCD counter, when it's plugged into the wall anyway? Would be nice not to have to push a button to both start and stop it. WORST BANK EVER
OK, if I could rate this 0 stars, I would.Within a week of getting this item, we realized it counted wrong.Also as you know, kids have a tendancy to "accidentally" tap on things.If you tap this bank on the top, it thinks you put in more money.I wish my bank did that...hahaha.There is basically no way to know when you have enough coins to make a roll because when you push the button to tell you the amount of each coin, it resets if you're not extremely quick.Basically, this does not work.I even tried to return it, but since it was a gift, we have no receipt and we had already thrown the box away, so now we're stuck with it.If you really want a bank for your kids, please don't get this one.Your kids deserve better!

I have just purchased this chest. The first thing I read from the packing box was this product is not intended to protect computer disks, CDs, tapes, videos. This was not mentioned at all in product description on 3 to 4 website that I checked before I decided to buy it. I was more than disappointed. I feel that the seller was evasive...

Pretty good but eats a lot of batteries
I didn't see this in the other reviews, but we are finding that we replace batteries once a week. (!) Plus, there's not much storage space. If you want to write in it every day, that's less than 2 months.

Cute, but not practical
If you're looking for a diary that REALLY locks, this isn't it.The lock is flimsy and can easily be pried open.Also, if you put it into a backpack, the buttons get pushed and the musical notes play inadvertently.

Good first diary
My almost 8 yr old daughter wanted a the Personalized Password journal, but I purchased this one instead. I'm glad I did,especially after reading the Password journal reviews. This journal is easy to customized with any 4 key combination & easy to reset if you forget the combination. User Friendly
Easy to use yet has finger print technology, very reasonably priced compared to other biometric safe's in the market.
Damaged but still working
I ordered this item after reading all the reviews. I was planning to buy it from a store but it is difficult to find a biometric safe, especially this one. The product itself is great, sometimes it is difficult to use the finger print function because it doesn't read your prints properly. You always can use the keypad instead. In order to open the safe you still need the keys. You have the option to leave the keys on the safe which is not recommended.
Pleased with the safe but it still only gets four stars
To start, I purchased this safe locally for around $200.I think that my store had the price labeled wrong because I've not seen them in the store since I got it back in January.Works for me!Because I purchased it locally, I did not have to suffer with the shipping problems that some of the other reviewers had to put up with.I can see how they had problems because there is no real padding between the box and the safe.(I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing the safe.)

Great bank for teaching savings.
You know the drill: Your kids receive money it burns a hole in their pocket until they find the nearest dollar store and blow their wad.They become absolutely compelled to spend it ASAP.They have forgotten, for the moment, about the toy they have been talking about for the last 5 months.But when a few days pass, and their latest "thing" has lost it's luster, the pining for the long-desired "it" begins anew.Let's face it, kids just aren't natural savers.(Are any of us, really?)We endured this scenario for years with all of our children until last Christmas we bought this bank for my 5 year old.Since then, my son has been putting all the money he receives into the "Uncle Sam."I picked this bank because it shows him how much money is in it every time a deposit is made, and it only opens when $10 is reached.And there is NO way to get it open before then...believe me, he and my 8 year old have tried.It has worked out beautifully as a teaching tool, and the kids LOVE to hear the "ka-ching" every time a deposit is made.It has been so great, that we will now be purchasing one for our other 3 children when their birthdays come around. The best bank ever!
My mom bought this bank for my daughters 4th birthday, since she was able to figure out how to break into her other bank. With this bank theres no way that she can get in it unless she reaches $10, then it unlocks. She has learned which coins are what, and patience. Soon she'll be able to count her money and know when the bank will reopen for her. Even when she accidently put pennies in the front slot instead of the back slot, it didn't break. I'm thinking about getting another one for myself, so I can save up for something extra.

fun while it lasted
Gave this to my 7 year old great nephew for Christmas.It jammed up and now doesn't work....it worked for only three weeks.I bought it because it was all metal and it should have lasted longer than that. There doesn't seem to be a way to get into the bank to unjam it and I can't find the company address to write to ask if there is a way to unjam it.
