perfect size for small roasts and easy to clean
We received this roasting pan as a gift when we were married 2 1/2 years ago.We use it primarily to roast small chickens, but have occasionally used it for other meals.It's size makes this a very useful addition to an apartment kitchen, or for a cook who primarily cooks for smaller crowds.It is lightweight, easy to store, easy to clean and is the typical calphalon quality that most people expect.However... easy to clean!
This roasting pan is a good size and a good depth, and I was surprised how easy it is to clean!

Not as spectacular as I'd hoped
With all the talk about Calphalon and how faaaaabulous it is, I expected to open the package and have this Rolls Royce of roasting pans wink at me. True, the pan is a reassuringly professional-looking matte gray color, but it lacked a certain je ne sais quoi, which is just a silly way of saying that it wasn't nearly as colorful as Le Creuset. As always, the proof is in the cooking, and I will say that things cook beautifully in this pan. I haven't really been able to take it out on the straightaway and really open it up with a turkey or ham or sizeable roast of beef, but for smaller things, it performs well. It's awkward to handle, and I find I avoid the drop handles, preferring to grab the edge with a large potholder. Those handles are guaranteed finger-burners, in my opinion. And its legendary non-stick qualities...well, okay I haven't yet had to attack it with a chisel, but here's the key: When you take your food out of it, fill it with water immediately.Otherwise you're going to be scrubbing harder than you like. Trust me. Even after an hour's soak, it's still a harder clean-up than Le Creuset's enamelware. And no matter how many times I wash it, when it dries I always find a sticky or greasy spot that I missed somehow. Do I think it's worth getting? Yes, you could do far worse, and I believe that the pan will last a good deal longer than a cheap one. Is it worth the price? That I can't tell you for sure.
