don't be put off by the matte black interior of this roaster
I was concerned about the appearance of the matte black interior.The light color interiors of le creuset ironware just looks more appealing.However now that I've purchased and used this roaster, I wouldn't change a thing with it.The matte black interior seems to be more durable than the glossy enamel of the other le creuset pans.In fact, it seems to be the same type of enamel as the skillets and grills have and those items surely must take more abuse than a roaster.The interior almost looks like a non-stick finish and it cleans up as if it were.I've used it a few times and the inside looks like new where there are slight marks on the exterior.This pan would be wonderful for roasting a turkey, (Thanksgiving is coming up) and the price is great for a le creuset pan of this size.

Don't limit use of this pan for just the holidays

All-CLAD? I think not.
This roasting pan is NOT a clad construction like the other All-Clad cookware. It is a pure stainless steel construction and does not conduct heat well at all.I'm going to be returning mine as I just purchased a Viking Roasting Pan to replace this one. The Viking is only a little bit more expensive but it is a fully CLAD ALUMINUM construction and conducts heat SUPERBLY -- plus it matches my All-Clad cookware!

Wouldn't Have Thanksgiving Without It
I stepped up from the black, speckled roasting pans you get at the grocery store.I've had my All Clad pan for a year and purchased it before Cook's Illustrated latest review.

Daniel Boulud Cast Iron 5-Quart Oval Roaster
I was looking for a roaster that was sized to receive an Oven Stuffer Roaster for purposes of making Salt Baked Chicken.I started out with the 3-quart size which was too small, but the 5-quart is just about 1 inch larger around than an Oven Stuffer Roaster which is just about ideal.I agree with previous reviewer that the height could be slightly higher, but it did barely clear "the bird".Nicely designed cooking vessel for price charged.Seems ideal for chicken/fowl.Interior dimensions are 11" long x 8 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" high.

Well done enameled roaster
I had looked at the le Creuset pots and found them ludicrously expensive (overpriced in my view).A cast iron, enameled pan is not made of unusually expensive materials and does not seem likely to require an unusual amount of processing, so it probably should be fairly inexpensive.

My baby roaster
I also own its big brother and both pans work extremely well.Efficient, even heating.Upright handles make the pan easier to lift.Solid, heavy contruction.I like going from oven to stove top for making gravy. Easy to clean (dishwasher safe).

Wouldn't Have Thanksgiving Without It

My pan has warped and is getting worse
At first we loved this pan.We've used it quite a bit, but recently it has started to warp and it gets worse when it is heated. I can no longer sear a roast and then put it in the oven because the pan is so uneven.I've contacted All Clad and am waiting to see what they say. Needless to say, I would have been much happier with a less expensive pan.I am very happy with all the other All Clad pans that we have, but this one is a disappointment.

Overpriced
This item is the black sheep of the All Clad line. It is NOT a triply pan like other All Clad products and is made entirely of stainless steel(no aluminum). It is also made in Korea where other All Clad products are made in the USA.
