Rack is awkward...
Though the rack is awkward in that the handles are rigid making it difficult to find space to store in my cupboard, the pan and rack cooked efficiently and evenly and cleaned up very easily.I would recommend this product despite the size of the large handles on the rack.

Someone (Calphalon) has finally taken the tedium out of cleaning roasting pans.Even with scrubbing, regular roasters seldom get clean.This one cleans with a soapy sponge.Fabulous!

A fine roasting pan.
Roasting meats has until very recently been by-and-large out of my scope of regular cooking-- I tended towards sauces, soups, stir fries, and so on.Largely stove-top work and if I were to prepare a piece of meat, it was generally in a skillet.For whatever reason, this has been changing recently, and it occured to me that rather than fumbling about with Pyrex dishes as roasting pan substitutes, I needed a real roasting pan.

Le Creuset manufactures porcelain enameled cast iron cooking vessels as well as other quality products considered by many to be the world's finest. Sassafras La Cloche Brick Oven
Received my Sassafras La Cloche Brick Oven yesterday with the idea that I'd be trying it out this weekend. Unfortunately,I discovered that the thin clay handle was broken off the cover. Now I'm in the process of trying to get it returned and replaced.
Great bread, but...
I used La Cloche to make bread with, specifically San Francisco Sourdough, with SPECTACULAR results. The crust was crisp but chewey, and I could not imagine baking another loaf without it. But after I used it the first time, the bottom developed a crack. After a second use, the crack became so large that I will not use it again for fear it will break during cooking.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee of Roasting Pans
Most of my cook- and bakeware is of the hard-anodized Calphalon ilk.That said, I will admit that the Calphalon was not my first choice for a roasting pan.I will also admit that my first choice was the shiny, uptown All-Clad Roti.And I will even be so brazen as to admit that the Roti was my first choice because (a) it is shiny, (b) it is All-Clad, and (c) I am not immune to the whole cache of All-Clad and that whole "kitchen-bling" thing that it has going on.But then I realized that for the cost of the Roti, I could get the Calphalon, a 25 pound turkey, two bags of cranberries, a bottle of wine, and a vintage cookie jar that I have had my eye on.

Another rocking,warped skillet/braiser!
I have been looking for a 10-13" skillet/braiser that will remain flat on my electric flat cooktop.After reading all the descriptions-page after page, I thought the Anolon Titanium would do the trick;however, after one(1) heat up on high to fry some hamburger, I had a pan that wobble terribly on its middle point(right where Anolon stamps its logo).One can whirl the pan on this point with ease.This product may be great for the gas cooktop, but do not get it if you want a flat bottom pan for your electric cooktop.The handles stayed cool and had a good grip feel and balance for carrying and cooking. ... Very nice, solid roasting rack.
This rack is very nice and heavy-duty.I cooked an 18lb turkey on it with ease.The non-stick coating seems durable enough for the purpose and the rack is plenty large and heavy enough.The only reason I am giving it four instead of five stars is that the piece could have easily been made even sturdier by using a few more welds.There are a number of points on the rack where the metal rods simply touch one-another and are not welded.While the rack held my 18lb turkey with no problems, it seems to me that two or three more spot welds by the manufacturer would greatly increase the durability of the item.That being said- it is the sturdiest rack I have found so far.

This is the Rack for the Big Turkey!
I use this Calphalon Large Roasting Rack in an 18-inch Calphalon Hard Anodized French Roaster, and it works quite well for a 25-lb. turkey. When the roasting has been completed, it's easy to lift this rack out of the roaster and slide the roasted turkey onto a carving board, using washable cloth pot holders. (No need for any special 'poultry lifters.') The roasting rack must be gently washed by hand, using mild liquid soap and a plastic scrubber, if necessary, in order to preserve the nonstick coating. Don't put it in the dishwasher or the nonstick coating could flake off.

Toasty turkey!
We bought this to use this Thanksgiving for our 20 lb turkey...but couldn't wait.We have used several times to raost chicken and it is great.The chicken cooked faster than our cookbooks had suggested and it cooked very evenly.Clean up was nice too...just a little hot soapy water was enough to remove the cooked on drippings.We did a lot of comparison pricing before we purchased this item...the price was right in line with many of the cheaper and no name brands that I had seen on sale. ... If they made it out of better material it would be perfect...
It's a three-piece roasting rack--two sides and a long "pin" that holds them together. When assembled it has a rounded bottom and tall sides with handles. It's supposed to handle up to a 25 lb turkey, and after using it with a 22 lb turkey I believe that claim. The tall sides and handles make it easy to remove your turkey from your roasting pan, and the wide rounded base holds the turkey nicely up out of the drippings without crushing the rib cage the way angled racks do. In fact, my only beef with the shape was that it was too wide to fit in our Maxam Steel Roaster, which is currently my favorite roasting pan.

Can't be used AT ALL on the stovetop!
After only 8 months, the Teflon started to bubble off the pan and after contacting KitchenAid (who, to their credit, responded very quickly) I was told that the pan CANNOT be used on top of the stove, even just for making gravy.What kind of a roaster is THAT, I ask you???They will replace the roaster but now I think of it as merely a lasagna pan with a rack.Or a roaster that can be used only if you scrape all the drippings out and into another pan before you make gravy.
A disappointment.
The roaster is a nice size and weight.Unfortunately, after a few uses, the teflon started coming off.

it smells inside?
I just recived this roaster, and It has a awful smell to it!! No way would this hold a 25lb turkey!
I gave this 3 stars because it is a very nice roasting pan (especially for the money, what a deal) - great non-stick (which I prefer for ease of clean-up vs. having the deglazed bits you can get from a regular pan for gravy, that's just not worth the clean-up hassle to me), very sturdy, high domed lid, strong handles, and it really is beautiful (not that I'm putting it on my coffee table, but it does make for a nice presentation when you pull it from the oven). However, I cannot see how a 25lb turkey would possibly fit in this pan - at least not without being smushed up against all the sides, which would mean that nothing would brown or crisp at all. I cooked a 17lb bird, and frankly, I don't think I could go much larger in this pan. Great pan if you don't need it for it's "Extra Large" size, just know that if that's why you're choosing this one . . . you might want to keep looking!

CHEFS STAY AWAY!
DO NOT buy this roaster if you are at all serious about cooking.It warped immediately in my 500 degree oven, the high temperature I used to start my Thanksgiving turkey. Also completely useless over two burners to make gravy--everything immediately burned, it has major hot spots, and horrible heat conduction.The bottom is, as another stated, like tinfoil. I was very surprised at the poor quality, being so happy with other Cuisinart bakeware I have purchased. It is a waste of money and I am currently requesting a refund from Amazon or Cuisinart.Wish me luck.

Definite Quality - - Affordable Enough For "Real People" !
I had been considering this type roasting pan for over a year, but I just couldn't justify the price for the other brand I had been seeing. I'm so glad I waited for the Cuisinart. This is definitely a quality roasting pan, and affordable enough for real people.It is not QUITE as heavy as the AllClad, but almost as heavy, and certainly heavy enough!I'm pretty sure it will perform just as nicely and for as many years as the pricier brand.I appreciate value, and I consider this to be a great one!

Definitely not up to typical Cuisinart standards. While the roaster is a nicely polished stainless which makes for easy cleanup, it's relatively thin. In a 400 degree oven, the pan actually bows.
