This is my second set of Pyrex Custard Cups ...
... and I don't even make Custard! *LOL*I just love these for small servings of ice cream, fruit, side dishes, etc.They are great with meals for anything that you don't want to mix with the other foods on your plate.They are perfect for snacks and desserts.They are great for things such as pickles, olives, chopped onions, relish, dips, etc. on a casual buffet or picnic table.They also work well for pre-portioning ingredients when making a complicated recipe or allowing younger kids to cook with you.The typical Pyrex glass which is thick and a bit heavy is perfect for my family because it holds up to less than gentle everyday use.I still want my children to learn to be careful with china and glassware, but I see no reason to be too 'precious' about everday dishware.

Prepped and ready to go!
Mise en place is the French term for having all your ingredients prepped and ready to go before starting you start cooking.This technique is so important for proper cooking and these dishes really help you break that old habit of cooking and prepping at the same time.I use them to pre-measure all my spices, juices, liquids, etc. so that I don't have to be rushing around the kitchen as things are burning wishing that I had everything ready.
good small sizes
I have these but my only drawback is that they don't come with covers. I've made puddings, desserts or whatever and then you have to use saran to cover them and it's not easy trying to put a small piece of saran wrap on it without covering the whole dish, as they are small dishes. Not a total bad thing but covers would make these a 5 stars for me.They are perfect for small leftovers, using for prep food meals, or for little kids to put snacks in. Disappointed...
I ordered 2 sets of four in case there was any breakage...and guess what...1 ramekin was broken leaving me with 7 dishes.To top it off, a few days later, I found a comparable set, slightly larger, at Big Lots, for only $7 for four.Of course this is always the risk we take through mail order...often it is not worth the time or trouble to get refunds or replacements.

These pretty little ramekins are a bit different in style than the traditional vertically rippled cups that look like miniature soufflé dishes. The tall, smooth sides are only interrupted by three horizontal ridges--it's a clean look, and actually makes them more practical. They're easier to grab from under the hot broiler and also easier to scrub clean after use--no more caramelized sugar trapped in the ripples! The smooth interior flares just slightly at the top to provide a broader surface area for that tasty top layer. Absolutely Adorable Ramekins
I can't wait to find more recipes for these terrific ramekins!I was a little concerned at first that the may be too small; but, after trying the Molten Chocolate Cakes recipe, I am looking forward to using them again and again.If you are a chocolate lover, definitely try Mary Davis' recipe...they baked up beautifully; and, they had a perfect gooey center.The make-ahead feature is a winner.Easy to handle and to clean.I adore Le Creuset!!

Great ramekins
I have not been disappointed with Le Creuset yet. Use these over and over, in the oven or under the broiler for Creme Brulee - they always look new. Great!!!

Not the 8 ounce size in the description
These hold a little more than half a cup when filled to the brim.I can only guess the description statement that says they can hold 8 ounces when filled to the brim can only be refering to the 7 oz size.These are perfect for the standard 1/2 cup Creme Brulee, and they are taller, so that water won't splash in when you set them in a pan of water in your oven to bake.They are easy to clean, and the bottom stays cool when you torch the sugar on the top.They are easy to clean and come in 3 or 4 colors (Flame is not always listed, but I have the Red, Blue & Green versions).It works well for freezing sorbet as well, and for baking coddled eggs.I am very pleased with these versitile ramekins ... I never heard of a ramekin.
I bought a bunch of LeCreuset and these came as a gift. I suppose you use these for a fancy dessert, I don't know. What I do know is these are very well made and I am going to make jell-o and pudding in them and invite Bill Cosby over.

These ramekins are a handy size for desserts, condiments, etc. The cherry red is my favorite color, and the ramekins match well with my other Le Creuset. I originally bought 2, but found myself using them so often, I picked up a couple more. Think "out of the box"{

Great quality at a great price!
I was a bit unsure of these, seeing as how cheap they were, but i can assure you that they're great products for the price.I went in-store to bed bath and beyond to have a look, and the blue ramekins are beautiful, glossy, and well-made, all for a price that can't be beat.

not reliable quality
I guess I also got a defective torch!it takes 10-15 tries to get the torch to light, and the flame is hard to keep lit, when it does stay lit, I can't seem to get any sort of melting without lighting the sugar on fire and charing it.perhaps I'm using it wrong, but the directions are VERY vauge.the ramekins are great, but the torch...
Torch Song Trilogy
I purchased this set with some apprehension after reading one reviewer who claimed the product couldn't produce a steady flame.Honestly, I'm not sure if that reviewer was using the product improperly or just got a defective one; my experience has been quite the opposite. The unit is a cinch to fill with butane (not included with the set), reliably and easily produces a flame, and provides adjustable flame size (both length and width).I know there are more expensive kitchen torches on the market (some by this same manufacturer) but I think this one is suitable for every kitchen use. In fact, when my neighbor saw mine he wanted one for his home workshop! The included ceramic creme brulee ramekins are the right size, though they are manufactured in China, not France.Also included is a simple, basic recipe for Creme Brulee (though I have not tried it yet but instead used one of my own).Price, performance, and panache are the trilogy which make this set a winner.
