Waste of money
Thermostat quit after 2 months, now I see other have had this problem.My old pot lasted 45 years, but this is useless.
Lid Removal Problems
This coffee perc makes wonderful tasting coffeee---much better than any of the drip machines we have owned. However, it has been a problem since we bought it, in that the lid is VERY DIFFICULT to remove. After a few months of tugging on it, the plastic tabs on the viewing knob on the top have sheared off. Delonghi, after going through a bit of red tape, has agreed to replace it (in warranty) but is charging me $7.50 shipping, which is kind of sand in the face in my book. They also admit that "the sticking lid is a problem but it usually gets better with time."I would not buy another one based on those poor assurances.

Old lemon --Warranty has passed
The pot was not keeping the coffee hot, then stopped working completely. The serial number indicates an old model from 2001. DeLonghi's policy registers it as having passed its warranty, even though I just bought it and sent in the warranty card. ... Read more

Coffee urn for 30 cupsOld model
My parents bought one of the old 30 cup urns and it was great for family gatherings. My parents have been deceased for over 25 years and the urn still works.I could use some advice on how much coffee you need for 30 cups.It is a Model 13U.

Too Bad!
I used this unit on a very moderate basis for about a year and a half and then it stopped working properly. Naturally, the warranty had expired. I called the customer service number to ask about paid repair service and was told that there were no authorized repair stations and in fact, it couldn't be repaired. They did offer to sell me another at a reduced price which wa more than I paid for the unit initially.To sum it up, it worked well while working but didn't stand up and then, regardless of my willingness to pay, it can't be repaired. Seems to me that a unit of this cost should last for a long time and repairs should be possible.

Not Reliable and Impossible to service
I bought this unit and used it ONE time.The next time it was plugged in, it failed to turn on, which is probably a good thing.My step-father took the thing apart and found the wiring to be faulty.On top of that, I called Farberware Customer Service several times and NEVER got through nor did I get any response from them.I am extremely disappointed, since I paid [a lot] for something I think should last for a long time. ...
