Switch defective
Makes excellent perked coffee but after about six months I noticed the built in light on the switch wasn't working and thought I had a power supply problem. Further investigation found the element was working fine in the coffee maker but when checking out the switch operation heard a snapping noise like a electrical short internally. I took the bottom off to check the wiring and did find one wire falling off so reconnected but built in indicator light for switch still not working.A little nervous about using it due to electrical malfunctions and possible fire hazard. I love percolated coffee
I loved the way my coffee tasted when brewed in the Melitta percolater.About the only thing I would change is the plastic bubble on the top of the lid.I've had two break apart on me.Since I cannot find replacement parts, I've had to replace the entire pot.

What a mess!
The lid is to darn tight and after a lengthy struggle it finally popped off sending hot coffee and grinds all over me and the kitchen wall, counter, and floor. I dumped the pot, replaced the lid and had my husband try to open it and the same thing happened. Am returning this item.

nice, but...
At first I was thrilled with this percolator - it made fantastic coffee (Gevalia is the best in this, by the way) and we really were enjoying it. BUT, now we have had it for only 3 weeks and the water level gauge on the handle is not working right - I had filled the pot to the brim with water, and the gauge said it was only half full! Other times, the gauge will read that the pot had 8 cups of water in it - when in reality the thing is empty! FRUSTRATING! ... Read more

Ah, the aroma of percolating coffee in the morning. And the sound, too, that perk, perk, perk promising a boost when it's needed. This pretty percolator brings the retro coffee-brewing method into the 21st century. A transparent knob on the top allows the brewing cycle to be monitored, as always, but this percolator adds convenience to tradition. Plug it in and brewing begins within seconds at a cup-a-minute speed (six cups maximum). The stay-cool bottom sets down on any surface without harm; the stay-cool handle permits safe pouring, and the power cord detaches to prevent counter clutter. Add a gleaming, mirror-polish body and matte-finish handle and bottom in blue, and function marries form winningly. The percolator cover, coffee basket and lid, and the pump tube go into the dishwasher. Wipe the percolator inside and out with a damp cloth. Read more

perfect for 2 people but some big design flaws:
I love this pot--I bought it because my husband has an amazing ability to break every glass coffee pot once it's in the sink, so I hoped this one would be indestructible... Also, it's nice looking, my friends comment on it's cool 'retro' look. Great, very hot coffee
This percolator is perfect......very attrative, cordless and brews a very very hot fast cup of coffee. I like to use alot of milk and the coffee is still very,very hot.I would recommend this product.

Wonderful yet flawed
This could be the world's best little perculator except for one major flaw. The clear viewing ball on the lid is made of plastic, becomes brittle in relatively short time, and it WILL break. According to the manufacturer, you cannot simply purchase the ball - you must replace the entire lid. When I tried to order the lid, there were none in stock. It is pretty though! ... Read more

great!so good bought another
This little thing seems to make coffee better than drip-machines.It is quick (faster than a lot of other perkalators) and has a low settings after the perk, so the coffee stays warm (doesn't keep cooking the coffee).We liked it so much, we bought a second for our camper.Really easy to clean and after 2 years of daily use, it's still working.
