Just as great as new!
After seeing that everyone on the Food Network shows seemed to have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer, I decided they must be good machines (or that the KA company paid a lot for the product spot advertising).I started doing my research of friends and family and people who use them, and realized that I wanted one.
Great , I LOVE IT!!!
I make rolls and bread all the time and it has yet to let me down. I can say that if your looking for a handless handheld this is not for you. It's not made to mix a little bit of anything. I have to mix my honey butter with the handheld because there isn't enough for this mixer to mix. I love the easier start, you don't have that big mess from the quick jerk of starting. It's a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.

I also purchased this for $175, with free shipping.I had been checking the availability of the reconditioned models, not realizing that it can change (as well as pricing) very frequently.I had originally planned on getting a reconditioned Artisan model, because when I originally checked, there were no Professional models available reconditioned.Well, a few days later when I went to make the purchase, the Artisan was no longer available.I was very disappointed, until I did another search and found this Pro model, for about $5 LESS that the Artisan had been listed!I've watched some of the different models & colors now and then, and yes, you almost have to check daily to see what's available and the price.My advice... What's not to love?
I've had it for a month, and have been using it a lot to test it fully before the warranty runs out. It's done a big batch of cookies, merengues, the best bread I've ever made, and a bunch of other things flawlessly. (My friends are starting to dread the windfall of yummy baked goods.) The spiral dough hook kneads a lot better than my mom's old flat hook, and the mixer did, as promised, cut kneading time to about half for my bread recipe. I've really been enjoying this, and highly recommend the larger refurbished model over a smaller new one, if that's the decision you're making. There's really nothing it can't handle (including just a couple of egg whites), and as long as you make sure you've got a good one before the warranty's out, six months more or less of warranty isn't much in the life of a mixer that should be hitting its prime about 20 years in.

The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough; the 6-quart bowl can hold up to 11 cups of flour, which translates into as many as 192 sweet treats. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solid in construction and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist; untwisting them is a bit trickier because the attachment stems are short and can be hard to grasp, especially if they get the least bit greasy. The bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing 16-1/2 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball (25 pounds), this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Couldn't be happier with Factory-Reconditioned!
Bought this for my mother that was a special $100 deal that day, and we couldn't be happier.The top had a few minor scratches that makes the top less shiney, but aside from that there were no other imperfections.We've been using it together for about two years, and it's been reliable and easy to use.So if you have any doubts about buying something in this condition...don't!

Everything I expected and more...
I just received this yesterday via UPS.Not only is the price absolutely the best I have found for this item (free shipping plus $20 coupon off) but this machine is an absolute dream. It is big, beautiful and powerful. I love the size since I have seven children and I really need to crank out the homemade goodies. A double batch of oatmeal cookies (8 dozen large) was mixed up in under three minutes. Blends cold butter into the sugar perfectly and no problem at all mixing they dry ingrediants in smoothly.Refurbished accessories with free shipping are available really cheap at kitchenaid website as well as more information on this product. It is being discontinued and that is why it is available so cheaply. Kitchenaid website also has live help and an 800 number if you need to ask more questions before buying.

hotter than foreman
This thing is big. Real big, especially compared to the old foreman I needed to replace. But it also looks good, and stores on its side to take up less counter space. It's also pretty heavy... I suppose because it's all metal, and has heavy duty grill plates (from what I can tell much heavier than the foreman's.) It seems to be very solidly built. Some others have complained that the tabs that hold the grills on seem pretty flimsy... I'm not sure, but will most certainly take care not to yank too hard when using them.
Run away!

KitchenAid Quality at a Cuisinart Price
Well Cuisinarts arent cheap in price but for the price Amazon is offering this French Made beauty at it beats the pants off Cuisinart's Chinese Made models. A plus is the citrus juicer which would cost you close to what the whole food processor goes for plus you can make Pesto, Hummus, Grind Meat, Pastry Dough and chop and slice anything else your heart desires.

Better off with the Cuisinart
I've had the Kitchenaid food processor for several years and it is less than fully satisfactory. The buttons are difficult to press positively, making the operation less than wholly precise and the loading tube is too small for most veggies - exactly the sort of thing a food processor is supposed to save you time preparing. The mini bowl was its only redeeming quality, it was great for little batches of spices or a small hunk of Parmesan cheese, but the plastic they use for their blade assemblies doesn't hold up well over time - it gets brittle - and our mini blade broke. The kicker is that you can't get individual parts for the Kitchenaid like you can with a Cuisinart. You have to buy a whole new set for nearly the price of the entire machine and oh by the way, you can't get a new mini bowl and blade at all. After Al sent the blade stem thingy down the disposal, we are down to only the one main chopper blade, but the plastic is going on it too. We don't have call to use it but every once in a while, so it isn't like we've worn it out. awesome food processor
