For the price you'd think you'd get SOME service
We purchased this toaster oven with a giftcard & after reading positive reviews about the brand.Normally we dont pay this kind of money but we figured we'd splurge with the giftcard.

I bought this oven upon glowing recommendations from relatives and friends who had owned DeLonghi's. They especially raved about the toasting capability. I guess I turned out to be the star-crossed owner. :-(

Waffle Iron for the Masochist
I would recommend this product to anyone who loves the ticky torture of cleaning grooves, hinges and other impossible to reach places. Overflow is directed first to the back where I used a nutpick to scrape. Batter still in hinge. Use was maddening. I feel my blood pressure going up just thinking about it. This is my third waffle iron, first one I had this problem. Using slightly less batter produces holes in the waffles.

I cannot recommend purchasing this product.

Poor performance
This brand was my 2nd Delonghi thermal carafe model in 2 months, after the first one broke after 5 weeks.This one worked wonderfully for about 4 weeks until one morning.I came in and found coffee all over the counter.I thought I had not aligned the pot properly or something.After another week of dealing with this, the electrical system shorted out due to all the coffee spills.This coffee maker made the best coffee and the carafe kept it hot all day.I don't know what happened and we couldn't get it resolved.We purchased a Cuisinart with a 3 yr warranty (not the one that grinds coffee) and has worked great for 6 weeks.

No stars is what this should be. Great blender
This blender does its job very well. I can drop frozen fruit, ice, and fruit juice to make a smoothie indistinguishable from smoothie shops. Although the manual says that the blender isn't designed to crush ice, I've had no problems with adding uncrushed ice to whatever I'm blending.

Dead in 16 months
This unit was fine while it lasted, but it suddenly went dead after 16 months.Unfortunately, that seems to be a common occurrence with this model (see comments for white and stainless, too).

BuyerBeware!
The reviewer who castigated the othertwo reviews should consider himself lucky. He probably received one of the apparently good units Delonghi made.
It is VERY DANGEROUS!
I bought this model oven toaster about six months ago. I used it early this morning and it worked fine. Thirty minutes later, the front glass door just shattered and exploded. The shattered pieces were everywhere on the kitchen floor and on the dining table in the dishes. Fortunately, we just sent kids to school. Otherwise they would have been right in the line of explosion. I immediately called Delonghi and spoke to a rep by the name of DeLorne, who was very unfriendly and gave me hard time. I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told none was avaible at that time. Upon my insistance, I was finally told someone by the name of Kelly would call me back. I am still waiting!

I was compelled to write this after reading the other review, only giving this oven one star and wishing for zero stars. It is a shame that Delonghi can't write a rebuttal. First off there is a third heating element, which is removable, and stored under the unit, and when toasting, it must be plugged in...as the instructions clearly state AND there's even a picture. Unfortunately for Delonghi illiteracy is on the rise in the USA and sometimes even the pictures don't help with people like that. I hope that they figured it out and are now terribly embarrassed, but I'm not very hopeful. This unit does it all, and it's wonderful. If you have a space deficiency then this is not the unit for you because it is large, but if you want to save money for medium sized meals etc... or if you are either single or a couple this is the best. I only use my big oven for large meals, I can cook two 12" pizzas and you can even purchase a pizza stone for the oven separately. I have made a meatloaf, 4 large baked potatoes and a vegetable casserole all at once. It also toasts 12 slices of toast, all the racks are removable, even the crumb tray comes out. Plus it is a snap to clean, just a damp sponge or cloth...get a grip caprika, you didn't tell it how it is at all! ... Read more

Great for the price
This is a great machine for the price.The froth comes out nice and the espresso is very good.I think most people break these because they put in the wrong kind of beans (too much oil).This is a great value!Highly recommended!

Unreliable, but great if it isn't broken
Mine (a new one, not a refurbished one) required sending back 3 times during the warrantee period. For this reason, I cannot recommend it. However, when it works it makes great coffee, provides steam quickly, and has a number of great features. The dump box that receives the coffee grounds is very small and is hard to get to for emptying and cleaning. This is identical to the Gaggia Syncrony Compact.

I have had this machine for a little over a year now.It works perfectly every morning!

Good coffee maker
I got this for Christmas over a year ago, and it still works great!I use it most every morning.The coffee quality isn't as good as my drip maker - no pod coffee maker can ever measure up to a drip maker - but it's very easy to brew just one cup and with no cleanup (except to remove the used pod!).
I love it, despite its faults
I love my pod coffee maker, despite the machine's flaws. If you don't get the pod in there JUST RIGHT, the water leaks out around the pod's edges and sprays out everywhere. After many false starts, I finally learned to really squish the pod down into the pod holder. I haven't been sprayed in months. I love how you can brew just one cup at a time, which is all I ever have. I switched to another brand of coffee pods, though--I think the Juan Valdez pods come in excessive packaging. Other pod brands work just as well in this coffeemaker, taste better, use less packaging, and are cheaper. ... Read more

Most convenient blender available
The Krups GMA211-70 Power Extreme VI blender is the most convenient blender I ever used. Easy handling; easy to clean not even necessary to take apart; just rinse and put in the dish washer! No spats when using, due to the perfect sizing and wide opening with good sealing lid. Easy to pourA true top quality item all the way. Love the easy to clean front with the covered push buttons. Looks like new all the time. Is easy to store because of its weight. The button functions are true to what they say they do.
Beware of this blender
My husband and I registered for a similar Krups blender (model #243) two years ago for our wedding. The blender has been a huge disappointment. First, the letters and numbers on the main face washed off with plain WATER. Next the blender started to shake, getting worse so that now we both must hold it down to keep it from flying off of the counter. This shaking has cracked the base. Defective merchandise
I tried to set up this air conditioner in my home last night. The unit does not have the on/off, temperature or time control buttons in the control panel, so the only way I have to turn the unit on or off is to disconnect it. The alarm light comes on about 10 minutes after the air conditioner starts, the A/C shuts off and the unit becomes a very expensive fan. I have called customer support but have received no response as yet.

Cools well and efficiently; I've used one for three years and never had any of the scary problems other reviewers have reported.BUT, it it is loud, big, and refilling the water container is a pain (though you can operate (less well) without it.)I would recommend a window mounted device instead, unless you need either portability (no complicated window installation necessary,) or use in a room that only has windows that open outwards (the type you can't install a window AC in.)

More Heat, Less Cool
I bought one of these a few years ago and couldn't wait to return it.When you have an AC unit in a room, it generates heat -- there's a reason that a window unit hangs *outside* the room.There is heat dissipation along the exhaust hose also, and at the window: if your window has 2 sections, the heat can rise just outside the lower section, and re-enter at the window dividers.At least, understand that a 10000 BTU unit in the room does not equal the same outside the room, because the room is not insulated from the machine.I had this unit in a small bedroom -- maybe it was windy in there, but it really wasn't any cooler.The unit did act as a dehumidifier, and required a fair amount of emptying.Anyways, don't, don'tbuy this thing -- it does nothing, and it's expensive. ... Tempermental - at best.
I, too, purchased my first Saeco Italia machine from Starbucks.I bought the machine without the digital display.Recall tells me it was selling for $800, but on sale over the holidays for $600. I think the digital was (at the time) selling for around $1,000, on sale for $800.
Have had my Italia for over a year and a half...
I love my Italia and it works wonderfully!I take care of it by making sure it get descaled every 4 months, which is important.Also, the directions clearly state to turn machine off when not in use...I've found this is also a useful tip to ensure machine works properly.It gets quite hot, so leaving it on for extended periods of time (like over an hour or two) will cause the espresso to have less froth.If you follow the directions, you will get perfect shots everytime.People love to come to my house for coffee!
