Great invention, poor execution
I bought the Taylor Wireless digital cooking thermometer with remote pager, Model #1474, from Amazon in July 2005.
Easy Cooking
I first seen the Taylor Wireless Thermometer on a cooking show thought it would be a useful accessery. I have since purchased two one for my son and the other for me.We both have had very good results and would highly recommend this product.The remote comes in handy the alarm is easy to hear and accurate.

Base appears to work- but remote is a joke
This is a cheap piece of junk.The base won't communicate with the remote even after extensive review of directions and trying different channel selections as directed.The plastic housings are so lightweight I don't think it'd survive ordinary outdoor use either.Certianly not a drop off your grill.Felt like I had to handle it gingerly so I didn't crush it with my hands.This one is going back -Sorry AZ. ... Wood handle IS there for a reason
This spatula (or spoonula, whatever you want to call it) works pretty well. I've left it sitting in the pan over high heat for a few minutes before, and it does not melt, so that's great. It's very flexible. The wooden handle has been getting bad reviews, but this is the feature I like the most. At first, though, I hated it. Then I realized that Le Creuset really did put a lot of thought into this. When using their cookware, you should not bang utensils on the side of the pan because it could chip it. Even plastic will chip it. This is a very hard habit to break. After stirring your food, you bang the excess off on the side of the pan. Well, with the wood handle, you can still do that and not chip the pan because it is a softer, shock absorbing, material. No, you should not put wood into the dishwasher. I don't put my Le Creuset pots and pans in the dishwasher, either, so it doesn't take anything extra for me to hand-wash this. The only complaint I have is that the slots are too small. Food gets trapped inside the slots easily and is a pain to get out. And they're too small to let any significant amount of liquid drain. All in all, it's a pretty good spatula. Next time, though, I'll get an unslotted one.

I hate the wooden handle
I like this spatula for the following reasons:

A SPATULA WITH SLOTS JUST BECOMES A NUISANCE AS EACH SLOT MUST BE CLEANED OUT. IT DOES SCRAPE OUT THINGS WELL BUT WOULD BE BETTER WITHOUT THE SLOTS. Lovely and useful
I originally bought this scale in green just for the look. It matched my kitchen perfectly. But, I have also found it to be incredibly useful too.The "cup" is generously sized allowing me to measure all sorts of things. I've also found it wonderful to use for baking as measuring by weight is far more accurate. When not is use, it's great as a fruit / veggie holder.The numerical markings are large, plentiful and easy to read. I am so pleased I bought this scale. I encourage you to check out thier full range of colors too!

Pretty but questionable accuracy
This is an all-metal exterior scale that operates through a spring loaded bowl that pushes on a metal lever that is geared to the indicator. The overall exterior construction is pleasant, with a nice appearance and a few sheet metal screws located to easily allow access to the mechanism. Unfortunately, the mechanism itself is set up such that it indicates gross amounts reasonably well, but fine amounts poorly. For example, if you want to quickly see if you have about 2 pounds of potatoes, the scale is great for that. On the other hand, if you have 8 ounces of grain on the scale and you'd like to add another ounce, you won't know until you've added too much and the indicator finally overcomes the built-in friction necessary to move, at which point it will show that you've added a few ounces. There's also a kink in the mechanism at 2.5 lbs which the unit has to overcome, again blocking fine gradients from being measured in that area to an even greater extent than around other points on the scale. Multi-purpose
I love this spatula so much that I barely use my older spoons. I use this spatula for everything and anything. The fact that it is silicon and has one plain surface (no separate head and body) makes stirring and mixing, and cleaning it a breeze because food does not stick to its surface or get around the joints as in other spoons. Love this scale
I've had this scale for years - it's easy to use, and I've always had good accuracy with it - and you can't beat the price. I like being able to quickly zero out when I use a different container to hold the food.

Inaccurate
If you really need to know how much something weighs, this is not the scale for you. Every time I tap it, it shows a different number.

handy, versatile
I purchased this in all honesty to get an order up to the $25 free shipping limit, but am quite pleased. It *does* function very well for stir frys, although the slots for drainage aren't that effective. Interesting and functional shape, comfortable to use.

Chirps aftertwo months of Use
I bought this from Amazon to use on my calphalon wok. After daily use for about 1 month, we realise that the tip chirps. The scoop design is useful but the material used does not withstand the heat.

Dull and useless blades
I bought this exact item for about $20 at a Tuesday Morning store that mostly carries items that were returned from stock at other stores.
Not sharp enough
Although this mandoline is sturdy and fits together well (as far as changing the blades), the blades were not sharp enough when I received them to easily slice or julienne pototoes or carrots.I would think they should go through the slicer much easier than they did.I had to really bear down hard, and the slices were really choppy, rather than smooth.
