5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Pans!
I've had this skillet set for about two years and I can honestly say that these are the best nonstick pans I've ever used. They are nice and heavy and sit completely flat on the burner - no warped bottoms developing over time like you get with cheaper skillets. The teflon finish is still like new on both my pans. I did learn, however, not to use spray oils on them (like Pam)because even with the best cleaning the sprays will start to leave a gunky, almost waterproof coating on the pan. With just a tiny bit of regular oil or butter these skillets perform much better. I have never, ever had a problem with these skillets sticking.
5-0 out of 5 stars Revolutionary Cookware
After purchasing some Calphalon from a local store I became hooked on it. It's non-stick like T-Fal but is easier to clean and seems more durable. Found this deal on Amazon that was at least half the price I could find anywhere else. This is now my #1 cookware and I'll be replacing my older stuff. I also have a 5 qt pot that is wonderful!

5-0 out of 5 stars these are nice!
I have an embarassing inventory of Calphalon pans.I wanted some nonstick omelette pans, and as Calphalon One nonstick will cost you significantly more for one pan than this two pack combo, I opted for this item. They are as heavy as the Calphalon One pans, and come packaged nicely (unlike some other duo item package deals).Regarding the nonstick coating, I am not sure if they used Teflon or not on the Commercial line, I expect that they did. That being said, the fears you might read about Teflon on some reviews are not informed. There still is some dispute on the seriousness of health effects of perfluorooctanoic acid, which is used in the manufacture of a number of items such as Teflon, waxy type containers of fast food, rugs, etc.Perfluorooctanoic acid is finding its way into the environment. Most recent indicators are that the scare on perfluorooctanoic acid has been overblown. However to the point, Teflon itself does not expose you to this substance, and in fact only one study has ever found it to do so (an FDA study), and that was under rediculous conditions that would never occur in normal use, and even so only minute quantities of perfluorooctanoic acid were found. The dispute is in fact an ideological one being pushed by the very radical Evironmental Working Group against Dow, and it is a pretty disingenuous as far as Teflon is concerned. This group views Dow Chemical as the great Satan.Whatever their issue with Dow, after 40 years is is very clear that Teflon itself is a very safe item (although I would avoid the waxy containers until the final evidence is in on perfluorooctanoic acid, as unlike Teflon, these actually do expose you to perfluorooctanoic acid.) In fact, I feel more comfortable using Teflon than the newer polymers that are now being used in the new Calphalon lines, as Teflon has stood the test of time. That is, unless you are at total idiot in the habit of turning you big burner on high and putting your teflon pans on them until they self destruct, and also putting your canary cages on top of the stove as you do so.If you are in the habit of doing this, I would stay away from all non stick pans, Teflon or otherwise.Even so, probably the only ones that would be hurt by this would be your canaries, and the burning grease and oil would have killed them anyway. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent /product/service
Cooking is such a job with all ScanPan products---have purchased for gifts also.

5-0 out of 5 stars great investment
This pan is so durable! We have it about 4 years and there is no sign of any wear! It washes so nicely. When we bought it, it came with metal scrubber to prove that you can clean it with metal with no problem. You need to use tiny bit of oil, but not much. I went on their website to try to buy more when I learned that it uses some teflon inside, but only in temp 500-600 degrees it gets released. So it should not be released in food. For complete purist-time to go back to cast iron or steel. However, I am still using this pan--what can I say? When something works so well, do not replace it! It was worth money we paid for it. I don't understand why this pan is not marketed more. I don't know of better nonstick pan with the same durability. It loves metal brushes and spoons.

5-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for...
I bought this pan on the recommendation of some friends and after other non-stick options I've tried have proved to be less durable than advertised.Time will tell on durability but the fact that the ceramic titanium surface is bonded to the pan rather than applied to the surface should make a difference. It works so well that I can't put butter in the pan when I make crepes, the batter won't stick to itself and I wind up with crepes with holes in them.Eggs come out perfectly. The pan heats evenly and quickly, cleans up easily, looks great, and has a nice heft to the hand - solid without being too heavy. This is an example of getting what you pay for; well worth the price tag. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Calphalon Skillet Combo Pack
We were interested in the 8-inch pan, but couldn't resist the bargain deal of two skillets for just a dollar more than the smaller one.The 8-inch is MARVELOUS for fixing breakfast eggs -- stay in the middle of the pan and easy to flip over.
1-0 out of 5 stars Calphalon Doesn't Honor Their Warranty
We bought 2 non-stick Calphalon pans less than a year ago.We treated them with care, hand washing them etc. After a couple of months one of the pans started having the non-stick coating come off.No problem, we thought. There is a lifetime warranty.Right?Well, we sent the pan in for a warranty replacement. What we got back was our defective pan and an unsigned form letter accusing us of subjecting the pan to "caustic agents."This, of course, is nonsense. Both pans were subjected to exactly the same conditions, but only one started disintegrating.Neither pan has ever seen the inside of a dishwasher as we only hand-wash Teflon-coated pans.Neither pan has ever been subjected to excess heat. But Calphalon would rather accuse a customer of abusing their product than honor their warranty. So, my advice: AVOID CALPHALON.The store brand set we bought at Costco 10 years ago is still perfect -- at a fraction of the price. . . .I wonder how much of that Calphalon Teflon is still in our bodies...

4-0 out of 5 stars Just so you know...
The pans are great, love the cooking surface and handles.Just so you know, if you stack your cookware as I do, the outside surface scratches and abraids eaisily.I haven't tried using anything on it yet - it doesn't look nice but I figure it's only going to happen again. That is the only reason it doesn't get a 5 star. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Another great addition!
Picked up this to complement my ever-growing collection of Calphalon tri ply pans. And, like every other pan in this series, I have been very pleased!Sautees, cooks, fries great. The 8" omelette pan is ok for one person, the 10" pan is great for a family. In my opinion, the 12" fry pan is much too large, so this 10" is just right.Additionally, the 3 quart saute pan lid will fit this pan (check my other reviews of the tri-ply series).
5-0 out of 5 stars A practical pan for everyday cooking!
I bought this pan for the hope of having a great stainless steel pan for everyday cooking and I am glad I did. It is very practical to use for quick cooking, it distributes heat evenly and quickly yet the handle doesn't heat up and it's user friendly since it's not heavy. I love using it in searing meat and cook the sauce after searing the meat in the pan. It is a very good buy that's why I bought other sauce pans with the same tri-ply material by Calphalon. It's a kitchen basic if you love to cook!

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Omelettes!!!
I have been using this pan for a couple of months now.It is extemely well made. When you pick it up it feels hefty but not uncomfortable. Most importantly, I have turned out the most beautiful omelettes I have ever made. Nice even heat and a great surface do wonders. As far as the comment about discoloration... a little bit of Bar Keepers Friend and a Dobie Pad and it is as shiny as new. Perfect for hanging out on the pot rack gleaming away. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Like non-stick is supposed to work
I bought this pan to replace my old, worn-out, cheap Teflon pan that never quite worked right.Pay the extra money and get the good quality stuff! You know those commercials where the egg slides out of the pan and leaves barely any residue to be easily wiped clean? This pan really does that!Nice not to have two sets of utensils, too, as metal can be used on this sturdy surface.
5-0 out of 5 stars use all the time
I have several calphalon pans. This one is just the right size andis used more than any others.Sits on the top of my stove so it is handy and cleans up so easily.Absolutely love it

4-0 out of 5 stars Good line of pans
For almost two years I've had several sizes of these pans. They have good weight and balance, are very easy to clean quickly, and are reasonably priced.
2-0 out of 5 stars fell apart
I bought this pan a few years back. This morning while cooking breakfast the bottom piece separated from the rest of the pan. i loved this pan but now it is useless. The way it is constructed they basicly welded the bottom piece on and it is not on there forever. beware!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little frying pan...
I had initially purchased the Simply Calphalon wok at Target and was so enamored of its non-stick surface that I rushed out to get this small frypan. It's the perfect size if you live alone and only need to make one serving of eggs in the morning, or perhaps you need to caramelize some onions for some dish you're making, and don't want to haul out the giant frying pan for such a small job.

Editorial Review

This Le Creuset omelet pan goes from the stovetop or oven to the dining room table. Although not designed for the slight-of-hand, this pan is otherwise thoughtfully constructed. Porcelain enameled cast iron absorbs, retains, and redistributes heat quickly, especially at low settings. The nonreactive, nonstick cooking surface does not absorb flavors and allows for low-fat cooking. And, in keeping with French tradition, the pan is stylish and is available in a variety of colors. To prolong the life of this pan, avoid using metal implements on its nonstick surface, heat it up gradually, use low-to-medium heat when cooking, and cool it down before washing. This omelet pan is hand cast in a one-of-a-kind sand mold and hand finished at the Le Creuset factory in France. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love This Pan -- and They Do Last "Forever"
Everyone in my family is using this omelet pan.Eggs and omelets cook evenly, without burning, and despite its weight the pan is easy to manipulate.I wish that there were a version without the nonstick surface, because I'm trying to avoid nonstick pans, but this is otherwise an excellent pan. Also -- re the 100 year guarantee -- we still have a Le Creuset omelet pan that my father-in-law gave us as a wedding present 32 years ago, and which he and my mother-in-law had received as a wedding present 24 years earlier. It looks alot like our current pan, albeit a bit smaller and with steeper sides (and no nonstick surface), and is in wonderful condition. So, apparently, they really do last a lifetime.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the most utilized items in my kitchen
I've had this pan for over 4 years and it is by far my favorite thing to use.I never even put it away, I use it so often. It's great for everything from eggs to tarte-tatin.This pan is durable, attractive, and just the right size for most of my cooking needs. And, since I can even stick it in the oven if I need to, it's pretty much flawless.

5-0 out of 5 stars expensive but worth every bit
It took me time to decide for Le Creuset, especially for the price, but now I am using it every day, so easy to clean and so neat to use from the top of the stove to the oven. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Non-stick???
I bought this pan to replace a Cuisinart pan that I've had for 8 years. First time I used the Calphalon, I tried to cook an omelet. 2-0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't recommend
I thought to have an expensive fry pan might save money than changing cheap teffal pan everytime it got stuck.Guess what! Foods get stuck to this pan so easily, I would have thrown it away if it was a cheap one.I wouldn't recommend it to others. I've been using this for two months.

5-0 out of 5 stars very heavy, but healthy alternative to teflan

This 12-inch omelet pan is ideal for a six-egg omelet or a family-sized frittata, but is equally useful for shallow frying or searing meats. 4-0 out of 5 stars Love it - at the right price
I picked this up on a special promotion for ~$20, and for that price it is unbeatable.Has held up for years of regular use & dishwasher cleaning.Be sure to get some soft spatulas with your first non-stick pan purchase...!

2-0 out of 5 stars Loved and adored the omlet pan, BUT, the surface peeled off.
This was the favorite of all my Calphalon non stick pans.It could go in the dishwasher safely, looked beautiful, cooked like a dream and was a perfect price. Everything was wonderful, but all of a sudden the non-stick coating gave up sticking to the surface and came peeling off, as if the adhesive had given up.It wasn't abused and I used the right utensils and never cooked with it on high heat. Now I have to return it to the manufacturer and the pan has been discontinued. What a pain!

I have a wide range of cookware. The Calphalon Tri-Ply stainless is the best I've found.Other stainless with an aluminum disk on the bottom only are the worst I've found. The non-stick on the Calphalon Tri-Ply is the best, and this little 8" is one of my favorite pans.Read more

Editorial Review

With aluminum cores enclosed by stainless-steel layers,Calphalon's Tri-Ply pots and pans deliver the attributes of bothmetals. The aluminum cores conduct heat quickly and uniformly acrossthe pots' and pans' bottoms and all the way up their sides. Thedurable, 18/10 stainless-steel interiors and exteriors are easy toclean, resist scratching, denting, warping, and corrosion, and arenonreactive to acidic food. Some Tri-Ply items, such as this 12-inchslope-sided pan, are coated inside with durable nonstick to readilyrelease food. The pan is ideal for making omelets or for any sautéingor frying task, especially for delicate food like fish. The handlestays cool on the stovetop and has a hanging hole, and the pan's rim isflared for dripless pouring. Tri-Ply cookware is polished to a mirrorfinish outside. To preserve the nonstick, this pan should be handwashed. It carries a lifetime warranty against defects. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars even cooking - easy cleaning
I tried the regular Calphalon tri-ply stainless steel saute pan and took it back. Too much work to clean and it was very heavy. Then I bought the nonstick tri-ply stainless steel omelet pan. It provided quick even cooking and is very easy to clean. Cheese sauces and eggs just glide off onto the plate and whatever residue is left is a breeze to clean. Also it is not as heavy as regular Calphalon pans. Furthermore, the handle does not get hot. I am now looking for more pieces. My old pots and pans were wedding presents from 39 years ago. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars It works for me
I tried this pan today.I used 1 tablespoon of butter and made a mushroom and cheese omelet. It worked very well.Nothing stuck to the pan and my omelet looked professional when I was done. The buttons take a little getting use to but once you do it's easy to use. Also, easy to clean.I do recommend getting the lid for this pan which helps cook the top of the omelet while the bottom is cooking.Make sure the lid is on when you are heating up the pan before adding your eggs.

1-0 out of 5 stars A total waste of money!!
Yesterday, I received Chef Giornali's Easy Flipping Omlet Pan from Smart Inventions, and while the concept of having two buttons on the handle to flip the omlet is a good one, the pan ultimately does not work.I have made two omlets with this pan, and I had disastrous results both times. Before I made the first omlet, I heated up the pan with some canola oil in the bottom of the pan. When it was time to flip the omlet, , I had some difficulties because one of the buttons was extremely stiff.Furthermore, despite the fact that that particular pan is supposedly nonstick and that I cooked the omlet in canola oil, the omlet stuck to the bottom of the pan, and my omlet ended up not being an omlet at all but simply a giant mess of eggs, cheese, ham, and vegetables.I decided to try the pan a second time, and I could not get the omlet to flip whatsoever. The button that was extremely stiff would not budge at all this time around.Because of my experiences with this pan, I'm going to see about returning it or getting my money back. ... Editorial Review

Calphalon refines the art of cooking omelets and sautéing vegetables with this 8-inch omelet pan. With its nonstick interior and gently sloped sides, the pan cradles your omelet--gliding it smoothly and easily across the skillet's surface. When finished, slide the omelet from pan to plate without reaching for the spatula. The pan's thick, wide bottom conducts heat beautifully, creating omelets cooked to a perfect consistency.
