Editorial Review

Cook meats and vegetables all in one place at one temperature with this skillet, as its versatile design allows a dish to be started on the stovetop and finished in the oven. Its 10-inch size is ideal for cooking a meal for the whole family, and the convenient helper handle makes this skillet easy to transfer into the oven. No need to worry about the handles melting, either, as they're oven-safe up to 350 degrees F. The nonstick surface on both the interior and exterior walls ensures that foods don't stick and that cleanup is quick--just wash by hand with a mild detergent. Hard-anodized aluminum cookware is twice as durable as stainless steel, and Meyer is so sure of its product that this skillet has a lifetime warranty. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, solid skillet... and for 10 bucks!!!
It's great! I didn't expect to get such a "serious" (hefty) skillet for such a price! Great, easily washable surfaces on the inside and outside.
5-0 out of 5 stars Works great
Non-stick surface is superb and produces great results. Now all of my cooking blunders will be my fault, not my junk pans'.This is a hefty pan too (4lb shipping weight), the most solid I've seen at this price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pan; wish I had more of them
We got a lot of nice pans from our wedding registry, but none of the non-stick stuff we requested.A few months later, I noticed this pan on Amazon's Friday sale and given that it was $15 or $20, decided it couldn't hurt to try this guy out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Having the right pan for the job
Talk about potato woes. Mine were sticking to the pan, ripping, smooshing against my spatula. I tried home fries on the stovetop, roasted potatoes in the oven. Nothing worked and I was getting so frustrated.
5-0 out of 5 stars We love it!
We love this new addition to our kitchen. We use it all the time for all kinds of things. We can barely believe how easy it is to clean - it even fits in our sink, unlike pans with long handles. It works great for roasting fresh vegetables then adding cheese and toasted pine nuts. It's also the perfect size for quesadillas.Great for eggs and any kind of sauteeing.Other than things that require boiling in water, we could probably do fine with just this pan in our kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value!
You can't beat the price on this pan.Got mine for $24.95 plus free delivery and am very pleased with its quality and performance.Food truly doesn't stick and the lid is a nice weight. Also, pan is sort of mid-weight and I like this lighter weight for everyday use. Works well on my ceramic cooktop. Will weigh in later if the coating doesn't last as long as I expect. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Calphalon Skillet Combo Pack
We were interested in the 8-inch pan, but couldn't resist the bargain deal of two skillets for just a dollar more than the smaller one.The 8-inch is MARVELOUS for fixing breakfast eggs -- stay in the middle of the pan and easy to flip over.
1-0 out of 5 stars Calphalon Doesn't Honor Their Warranty
We bought 2 non-stick Calphalon pans less than a year ago.We treated them with care, hand washing them etc. After a couple of months one of the pans started having the non-stick coating come off.No problem, we thought. There is a lifetime warranty.Right?Well, we sent the pan in for a warranty replacement. What we got back was our defective pan and an unsigned form letter accusing us of subjecting the pan to "caustic agents."This, of course, is nonsense. Both pans were subjected to exactly the same conditions, but only one started disintegrating.Neither pan has ever seen the inside of a dishwasher as we only hand-wash Teflon-coated pans.Neither pan has ever been subjected to excess heat. But Calphalon would rather accuse a customer of abusing their product than honor their warranty. So, my advice: AVOID CALPHALON.The store brand set we bought at Costco 10 years ago is still perfect -- at a fraction of the price. . . .I wonder how much of that Calphalon Teflon is still in our bodies...

4-0 out of 5 stars Just so you know...
The pans are great, love the cooking surface and handles.Just so you know, if you stack your cookware as I do, the outside surface scratches and abraids eaisily.I haven't tried using anything on it yet - it doesn't look nice but I figure it's only going to happen again. That is the only reason it doesn't get a 5 star. ... A rare feature among hard-anodized cookware, Anolon Titanium isactually dishwasher-safe. However, it offers cooks many advantages longbefore cleanup time. Constructed of extra-thick aluminum, these heavypots and pans conduct heat quickly and uniformly (no hot spots) andwon't warp. Their handsome, charcoal-gray exterior is harder than steeland resists scratching and denting. Inside, they're coated withDuPont's exceptionally durable Autograph nonstick that readily releasesfood. Stainless-steel handles have an attractive satin-finish. Thehandles are rounded for comfort, hollow to stay cool on the stovetop,oven-safe to 500 degrees F, and have hanging holes. This classic,slope-sided, 8-inch skillet is perfect for frying an egg orpan-roasting a hunk of halibut.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Exceptional coloring and even heat
I am a serious cook and have always detested almost every attribute of non-stick pans. I finally caved to improve my french-style omelettes with this pan but was astonished to note that this pan can brown as effectively as my cast iron, reaches higher temperatures on my stove than any metal other than copper, and is excellent under the broiler. I've had the pan now for more than two years and it is still in excellent condition. Almost as fast as copper, better browning than stainless, and easily as even as iron with much simpler care. I've never given this glowing a review of any product. I'm buying a couple as presents, and thought I'd leave a review for this incredible pan.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just about Perfect
Superior to everything I have bought to date. The non-stick interior is more non-stick, the exterior doesn't get discolored like regular hard-anodized, and the handle stays cooler than other all-aluminum handles. And the whole thing is attractive too. Definitely the Cadillac of pans.

5-0 out of 5 stars nice size & heft
I have the 10 & 12 inch millenium and like them both. The 8 inch is a good size for a single serving or to saute mushrooms. The sides are higher than I expected which is great. The skillet doesn't feel flimsy at all. I don't put any of these nonstick skillets in the dishwasher. They don't need more than a quick swipe with a regular sponge to clean up.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful pan.
The size of this pan is perfect for anything I cook..not too big, not too small. The handle is comfortable to maneuver and seems well balanced with the pan size. Don't know the affects of wear and tear yet but hopefully if I wash it carefully as instructed, it will be just as great to use after a few years as it is now. Great deal for the price!

Pros:
1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
After cooking eggs this morning and having a layer of egg stuck to the whole pan, I'm sad to say that my non-stick pan sticks. We've had this pan for maybe 8 months and I just assumed that pans lasted for several years. We even bought this pan plus the 8" for my mother-in-law for Christmas. What a disappointment.Better begin research on a new pan...and I'll make sure to read the reviews.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware!
When I first bought this pan I was replacing a pan from a moderately priced set from Costco. That pan lasted about 3 years and I got my money's worth.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really well made, professional frying pan
We searched locally for an 8 inch frying pan with a lid.It didn't seem to us that we were trying to find anything obscure - yet, after looking in store after store, I finally decided to try Amazon.I was pleased to find both this one, as well as a more expensive one by Caphalon.I hemmed and hawed over whether I should get the more expensive pan, since I was was more familiar with the Caphalon name, but ultimately I bought this Swiss Diamond pan.
5-0 out of 5 stars The cookware I've always wanted
Over the years, my wife and I have tried all sorts of cookware. We have a good set of Calphalon stainless-steel cookware, but we've never mastered the art of cooking sticky dishes such as eggs without a non-stick pan. We've tried every type of non-stick pan we've encountered. Some are non-stick for a short time only before the surface gets mucked up. Our best Teflon pans, such as those by Calphalon, seem to remain non-stick for a very long time with careful cleaning, but recently we've learned that when heated, Teflon (PFOA) cookware outgases chemicals that are definitely not good for you. (An advisory committee has recommended that the EPA classify PFOA as a possible carcinogen.)

Editorial Review

By squaring this skillet and flaring its sides, famed French cookware manufacturer Le Creuset offers extra cooking room for steaks, fish, burgers, or any food that benefits from stovetop grilling and the caramelized flavor imparted by seared grill marks. The ribs in the grill's bottom not only provide those marks but also elevate foods so that fat collects between them for low-calorie cooking. Because cast iron is unmatched for heat retention and even distribution--no hot spots--foods will cook uniformly in the 10-1/4-inch-square grill. Enameled outside with a bright, smooth surface and inside with a black satin-texture finish, this is a heavy, durable grill that works on any stovetop, in the oven, or under a broiler. It's also stylish enough (think French farmhouse kitchen) to bring to the table. Though it's dishwasher-safe, hand washing preserves a patina that builds up with use and aids in the grill's stick resistance. Read more

  • Sears tasty grill marks into steaks, fish, burgers
  • Square shape, flared sides provide extra cooking room
  • Enameled cast iron unexcelled for heat distribution, retention

5-0 out of 5 stars Kick George Foreman to the Curb...
Don't let the high price tag and the cast iron thing scare you away from this great product. It's not your mother's cast iron of stuck-on messes and rust in your food. It's very easy to season, and from there it works great. We've been able to cook everything from salmon, to buffalo, to pineapples with no sticking. 5-0 out of 5 stars You'll eat more veggies and fish! Healthy and tasty!
Wow, I love this pan!I also live in an apartment, so this is a great substitute for outdoor grilling when you want a quick dinner. It's not as good as the outdoor charcoal grill, but this has some advantages. It'ssuper easy.I use this pan several times a week.I pre-heat the pan, brush a little canola oil to the ribs, and while it warms up to the right temperature, I prepare the food.I cut some veggies (can use zucchini, squash, small eggplant, onions, bell pepper, etc), on the bias, so there's more surface area, toss with olive oil, salt & pepper, and grill. You may have to do several rounds of it if you have lots of veggies. After cooking until just tender, toss with a little balsamic vinegar and olive oil.DELICIOUS!!Also, we've been grilling some great local wild salmon on this pan.It is unbelievable. It is very quick, so don't overcook.Season with salt and pepper, and anything you like. Just practice a couple times, experiment with the temperature and your technique, and you'll see how easy and tasty it is.If you can get some homegrown or organic produce, it's so much more tasty.Simple grilling complements good ingredients.

The only reason why this doesn't get the last star, in my book, is because of its somewhat limited usefulness. However, if you live in an apartment or otherwise anywhere where grilling is impossible, this is the next best thing....like all other Le Creuset products this heats evenly and wonderfully and takes abuse.I got mine as part of a 6-piece set (along with a Dutch Oven, Baking Pan, and Casserole) and sorta at first saw this as a "filler" piece. However, to it's credit, this pan can do even easilly-burned items like tofu dogs and fake bacon WONDERFULLY, which shocked me--I was convinced that nothing could give a "grilled" effect to those items. I even got adventerous the first time I used it and grilled some apple rings.I panicked when some sugar seemed to be burnt on for good despite a good soaking, but after the pot had been dried and put away for 48 hours it flaked right off.Forget what you know about nonstick surfaces, btw, and banish those bad memories of cruddy, flaking Teflon from the 70's.Just treat this well (I only use wooden utensils on it) and it will treat you well.Follow the instructions and enjoy!Just be sure to use a potholder and realize that once this thing gets hot it STAYS hot for a LONG time. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, but Clean-up not so Good
I bought this pan because I wanted a non-stick pan that wouldn't chip or degrade...and this pan is great in that respect!I personally don't like to use much oil for cooking, usually just a spray of canola, and this pan works just fine in that way.The problem I have with the Swiss Diamond is that in order to remove any of that excess oil left on the pan, you MUST clean it off very soon after using it (before the pan cools completely) or you will really have to put a lot muscle into getting this thing clean. The surface of this pan is NOT smooth (i'm guessing because of the crystals) and this causes the oil to get stuck in there pretty good.I personally like to eat my food right after i'm done cooking, and save the clean-up for after the meal, so this pan is just not working for me at all in that respect.Even when I do clean the pan soon after cooking, it is still quite a job to get it clean.
5-0 out of 5 stars Swiss Diamond are the best pans ever.
You will not find a better pan than Swiss Diamond.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!
None of the other nonsticks can hold a candle to this stuff! I bought this and the 8" fry pan 2 months ago and, except for the bottoms, still looks brand new despite being used nearly every day. I even used a bacon press (cast iron) in it every time I cooked bacon and a couple of times I accidently scraped the inside side of the pan with no marks left. Hubby stacked knives and forks inside, then topped it off with 6 dinner plates. I thought it was done for--scratches and nicks everywhere, but no, not a single mark. My Calphalon Commercial nonstick (which hit the trash already) looked like it had been through a war when my 18 yr. old did that. I must admit, though, that I do not use metal utensils in it, nor do I put in a dishwasher since I won't have one til the kitchen is remodeled. Overall, though, just from what abuse it has gotten, I'm very impressed and will buy more. My advice? Don't mess with the rest--buy the best and this is it. Going to try the wok next. Wish they sold an electric griddle with this stuff in it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Better than Meds
Having attempted to cook eggs for the first time at 4 or 5, it drove me nuts to try and use Stainless and have the eggs stick. I got a diamond pan @ Sur La Table that was good, but it did not wear well. Things started to stick, heating was uneven. This new pan is unbelievable. It has a bit of a lip on it so if you are used to flipping things, it's a tad tricky at first, but once you are used to it, it's ideal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best non-stick skillet I've ever owned
My wife and I have shared cooking duties (70%/30%) for 38 years. Over those years we've wasted hundreds of dollars on inferior skillets that didn't cook as well as we wanted, butwere indeed 'non-stick' for the first several months. But after that, the formerly 'non-stick' coating pitted, or pealed, or flaked. So far, the Swiss Diamond 10" has cooked nearly as well as our Lodge cast-iron skillets, and just as well as our our stainless (with 'clad' bottom), but cleans up with little more than a damp paper towel. Also gratifying - we can use (and are using) the same steel spatula we use with cast iron.

5-0 out of 5 stars HEAVEN on the plate

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible product!
I have owned countless nonstick pans, only to find that they peel after time (scary with all the teflon toxicity reports) and don't conduct the heat well. I now have a new gas stovetop with super high btu burners. The nonsick I had couldn't hold up to the heat. I purchased the Swiss Diamond 12" and 10" frypans. I am back to buy the 8". The Swiss Diamond heats evenly, has a nice flat bottom, and is very effective in the nonstick department. It just loves the high heat of my burners. And my husband loves it too(so I get dinner cooked for me!)I highly recommend the Swiss Diamond nonstick

5-0 out of 5 stars A Gem of a Fry Pan

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!! THIS IS GREAT STUFF!
I found & purchased this pan at the beginning of September when there was only one review for all of the pieces. I wanted to use as a test pan before ordering more. Let me tell you this is definitely on my Christmas list! I am thoroughly impressed.
