    Editorial Review

This tenderizer not only hastens the cooking and marinating time of meats, fish, and poultry, it also significantly improves the flavor and texture of gamier meats such as venison or pheasant. In addition, the tenderizing process reduces shrinkage during cooking, so meat retains much of its original, pre-cooked size. 48, razor-sharp, stainless-steel prongs aligned in three rows of 16 blades each; pierce any cut of meat--including entire roasts, chickens, or turkeys. This tool can be used to prep food for any cooking method, whether it be grilling, baking, braising, broiling, or roasting. A rectangular-shaped, plastic handle and plastic cover safely contain the tool’s super-sharp blades during storage. For easy cleanup and hygienic safety, the tenderizer is dishwasher-safe. Deni’s parent company, Keystone Manufacturing Company, provides a two-year, limited warranty on this product. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product
I must admit. I was a little skeptical about what kind of quality I was going to get by spending over $20 for this thing. The quality far exceeded my expectaions, as it is a hefty, sturdy, well made product. It works well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tender at LAST!
I'm blown away! With 48 blades, this product really does the job quickly and quietly. No more BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! echoing off the walls which only produced a flat but still tough piece of meat.I'd gladly pay twice the cost for the Deni because it works! It's very sturdy, very sharp and easy to clean in the DW.I'm using cheaper cuts of meat sucessfully in recipes I had stored away because of toughness or price.Marinating is faster and more effective, cooking time can be reduced.Keep it away from kids.Protect your countertop. The best kitchen gadget I ever bought!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent item, but.....
I use the tenderizer every time I grill meat.It really works like a charm. And you get a li'l work out in too.The only drawback is cleaning.I seem to remember reading that it is easy as tossing into dishwasher.Well, youwill find small pieces of meat stuck between the blades.Be careful with this since it is raw meat.It is easily disassenbled to be further cleaned.Or just use an old toothbrush to dislodge meat.Oh yeah.Blades are REALLY sharp.Be careful. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fast for marinating....
I have only used it a few times so far but it has always worked well. I do only hand wash it after reading previous reviews so that could be helping it stay in good shape. It seems like I never have alot of time when I am ready to grill so this product works well for time saving. It gives the meat great flavor in a short amount of time marinating.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great concept, but canister needs to be redesigned.
I have had four of these, and three have failed. The first two developed cracks, and I suspect that the dishwasher, in which I only washed the bottom part of the marinator as advised, warped and weakened them. After buying two more, the first two having been relegated to the potting shed as seed-starters, I have handled them with kid gloves so to speak, (no dishwasher), and the seal on one fails to hold for even a few hours. So far, so good with the fourth one.Whoopee. These are not cheap items, and even if they were less costly, a 75% failure rate is quite unacceptable. If they really functioned as they should, they would be fabulous for not only marinating in short order, but storing other items as well. All the round canisters and the wide-mouth jar sealer work exceedingly well, but I'll not buy any more "marinators" until there is a successful improvement in design.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have item
When it comes to infusing flavor and marinting foods this is a must have item.It quickly infuses flavors without some of the drawbacks of long term exposure of some marinades. Acids and salts can breakdown foods over time and change the texture, composition and taste. This handy item does the job quickly and preserves the fresh flavors of both the primary food (meat, fish, poultry) and the fresh ingrediants used in the marinade. For summer BBQ is is the ticket for keeping foods moist.Instead of brining cut up chicken for hours try 1/2 in the marinator, then on to the grill. Marinating vegitables for the grill also works excellent and is quick and easy. ... Read more

This barbecue fork takes all the guesswork out of grilling meats. With its built-in digital thermometer, the fork supplies accurate temperature readings in either Fahrenheit or Celsius when its tines are inserted into a cut of meat. A chart on the back of the handle provides a quick reference to the minimum temperature requirements recommended by the USDA for food safety. Because the thermometer reads all temperatures between 0 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit (-18 to 104 degrees Celsius), it can also be used to determine how thawed or cool meats removed from the freezer or refrigerator are at the start of cooking.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars don't buy it
i received this product in the mail 5 minutes ago, opened the box and pulled it out for testing. the pos doesn't work. the power won't come on. i replaced the battery with a new one and it still won't light up. I guess I got the 1 in a million that made it through quality assurance defective. great workmanship, guys.

5-0 out of 5 stars WHAT a great idea!
You have to turn the meat. You have to take the internal temperature. Why do you need one pointy thing to turn and one other pointy thing to take the temperature? You don't! This fork does it all. GREAT IDEA.

5-0 out of 5 stars works like a champ
I've always had difficulty knowing when BBQ'd or smoked chicken was done, especially the thigh pieces. With this easy to use therometer, it is very simple to use and takes the guess work out.Now all my chicken pieces are cooked to the proper temperature and I am no longer worried about serving under cooked meat to my family and guests. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly the right tool
I've used it to break up chocolate, crush tortilla chips, and pulverize eggshells (for the garden). In fact, for everything except pounding meat. But I'm sure it will do a great job at that when I get around to trying it.

Fresh ground sausages, pates, meats for chili, and fish for soups can all be prepared at home with this professional quality meat grinder. Solid and sturdy, the beautiful brushed stainless-steel housing should last a lifetime. An extra-large, die-cast hopper holds a generous amount of cubed or sliced meat, which is then fed into the grinder tube with a long plastic pusher. Three metal cutting plates are included: fine, for spreads, pates, hamburger, and baby food; medium, for soup-related textures; and coarse, for ground meat used in chili. Fish and vegetables can also be ground with the appliance. Stored inside the pusher are two sausage attachments, which allow meats and spices to be combined for thin or plump sausages (recipes for Cajun, Italian, venison and other sausages are included in the user guide). Covered by a five-year warranty, the 450-watt motor works effortlessly and operates with a simple on/off/reverse switch. With the hopper attached, the grinder measures 10 by 13-1/4 by 8 inches. All parts should be washed by hand. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good machine
I only used it once, and it worked fine.Of course, I only grinded chicken breasts, which is not much of a challenge, but it appeared powerful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good For Making Dog Food
I grind rabbit meat and bones to make dog food. It does a great job of pulling the meat (on the bones) from the hopper and I rarely need to use the pusher to force the meat down. The cleanup is pretty easy, but you do need to oil the blade and plates prior to storage. This is the best non-commercial option if you need enough power to grind bones as well as meat.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good little machine
I used this grinder to make deer sausage.this was my first attempt to even grind my own meat or to make sausage. That little machine is easy to use no problem grinding the meat although it takes two people to make sausage.Link sausage that is with pig casings, using the saugage attachment. My daughter and i made 65 14"sausage links, and we hade fun doing it.that little machine is worth its money, and in my opinion not a bad price. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps Baked Boneless Chicken Breasts Moist
I live in the Midwest and boneless skinless chicken breasts prices have plummetted as compared to what they were a few years ago, but inexperienced cooks have made their preparation sometimes an exercise in patience with dry, chewy, stringy or sometimes rubbery meat.If it isn't overdone it is underdone. My mother usually pounded them flat to tenderize and make it easier to cook with consistent results. When I saw this product, boneless chicken came instantly to mind... either grilling or baking. It being winter, I decided to make a simple meal of Shake-n-Bake chicken breasts for my parents without telling them that I used the meat tenderizer. They came out so juicy and tender raved my mother as my father used a butter knife to cut them, they were perfectly and evenly cooked and to my surprise were as plump as they came out of the package.Just 3 or 4 times per breast and they were done.I am now dreaming of summer steaks, or even a chuck roast in the crockpot later this week.I am very pleased with the Jaccard Meat Tenderizer as it didn't change the texture of the meat as other had reported, and mine has two flat-head screw holes on one side and the blades can be replaced.I paid nearly $40 for mine at a local restaurant supply store and I think it will more than pay for itself by having GREAT meals at home instead of eating out.You can buy far better meat in the store than they have in most restaurants anyway. ... Excelente termometro, construido con materiales de calidad, resitente y de facil lectura. Lo utilizo casi a diario.

    5-0 out of 5 stars A Winner
This meat thermometer is fantastic and I am thrilled with it every time I use it.Two wonderful features worth mentioning are first of all the red arrow on the outside of the thermometer which you turn to the exact final cooking temperature. After setting the arrow, all you have to do is check to see when the temperature has reached it...set it, and forget having to check again what temperature is needed or worrying about reading the dial! The second great feature is that this thermometer starts registering at 120 degrees. When cooking a roast to medium rare this is an invaluable feature as most thermometers don't begin registering the temperature until 140 degrees which is too high and your roast is too well done!I have washed it in the dishwasher and so far the face has not steamed up like my last thermometer.Thank you Amazon for carrying this wonderful product! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
If I could give it 10 stars I would. I have NEVER tasted better meat, chicken, or fish. 20 mins in the tumbler with ANY marinade and the food is 200% infused with the flavor of your marinade. The clean up is SUPER easy. Throw the tumbler in the dishwasher and take 1 minute to wash the top. No need to remove the rubber seal from the top, as that will decrease the longevity. The seal doesn't let anything get in that will contaminate it anyways. This is absolutely the indespensible kitchen item for non-vegetarians :-) As a test I put in thawed thick cut bacon in it with some maple syrup and pepper and it was so good I made another pound immediatly afterwards. Works excellent on venison. No gamey taste and as I said earlier,,it totally infuses the meat with flavor. Additionally you don't have to baste your meat in between flips on the grill or whatever technique you use. Buy this product NOW! I know it sounds like a review written by an employee of the company, but I assure you I'm an Air Force man with a wife and two kids. We use this machine at least 4 nights a week.

1-0 out of 5 stars pure garbage - refurbished
I didn't even bother completely unpacking the thing. Old worn unsealed box, all the plastic surfaces looked as is scrubbed with 'Comet cleanser', sheen of grease residue on plastic too. The bag that the instructions were enclosed in had been through the mill too. I've been a long time Amazon customer and this is the first time I've seen this type of garbage. Therefore I put it on the manufacturer and not Amazon. If I buy a used, refurbished item I don't expect to pay full price.

This professional-grade tool, with stainless-steel prongs to break down tough meat fibers, provides controlled, uniform meat tenderizing. You can also use it to pierce meats before they're marinated so flavors penetrate deeply. The 2-inch-diameter plastic disk on the bottom is spring-loaded. It provides precise control when the tenderizer's handle is pushed down, so the prongs pass through the disk's holes and into the meat. When you release downward pressure, the handle springs up again, poised to tenderize another section with the same smooth, uniform action. This durable, heavy-duty tool (7-1/2 inches high) will last a lifetime. It's dishwasher-safe, too. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Just my opinion
I really like this item.It is easy to use.I ordered this item and the Jacard 45 blade and comparing the two this is easiest to use. This one does not stick into the meat as hard as the Jacard blades as I have recently learned. Just punch down and move on.Its easy to clean. The only down fall I had with item was after washing it several times, I noticed it started to rust at the base of the tenderizer, but I used W-D 40 and it came off.I had to rewash but it is still easier to use on meat especially thick and large tri-tips.

The tenderizer is a very good product have used many times the spikes do spread the seasonings throughout the meat. The only problem is the utensil is dificult to clean without a dishwasher (by hand) other than that very pleased with it....

For under 8$, you will not find a better made meat tenderizer. Until My Wife bought this for me, I was using a tightly wrapped handfull of shish-ka-bob skewers to tenderize steaks, roasts, chops, etc. Well made, sharp tines do not leave open holes, or tear the meat. 5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Pass This One Up!
This is a must-have. Far superior to any meat tenderizer I've tried before. It simply gets the job done and gets it done well. You won't believe how tender your meat will be after using this tool. It comes apart for easy cleanup. Get it, you won't be disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Every home should have one, unless you're vegetarian...
This is simply the best meat tenderizer I've ever used!I bought this tool a week ago and am super pleased with the quality and function is provides. It is very simple to use, sturdy, well built, easy to clean, and very effective. I used it on chicken breasts for the grill and I've never tasted more juicy, tender chicken in my life.If you want tender meat, this is your secret weapon. You only need to pass over the meat once because the blades are so sharp and perfectly spaced. This quite possibly could be the"perfect gift solution," surely not every owns one of these, but they should!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Meat Tenderizer
By having all those blades pierce the meat, it breaks down the connective tissues, thereby - tenderizing the meat. It also allows for marinates to really soak into the meat easier, cutting down on marinate time and having fully marinated meats. The method works, the design is good. It's a good, solid product. My only complaint is that it's hard to clean. The blades are extremely sharp, so you want to be very careful. There are 3 rows of sharp blades and the blades are non-removable. Each blade is gets coated with meat juice and bits of meat, yet you can't scrub each blade. Running it under hot water and scrubbing the outside with soapy hot water is about the best I could do for a good clean. I think the inner blades were cleaned enough with this method, but it's a bit of a pain to ensure cleanliness. This is the complaint I have of all meat tenderizers of this design, but this is the only one that lets you do something about it.Even though the instructions say that you don't need to disassemble it to clean it - rinsing with soapy water will do - I'm a little more anal than that and I like that I can disassemble it to really ensure cleanliness. The con to that then is that it's a pain to disassemble it each time to clean it.I guess every pro has it's con? It's also nice that you can just buy replacement blades for it - although I don't see the blades actually dulling anytime soon.

Turkey or chicken, pheasant or duck, beef or lamb, pork orvenison--any poultry, meat, or game benefits from being basted from theinside out. With this simple tool, injecting a marinade is foolproof, easy, and quick, and the result is increased flavor and juiciness. Themarinade goes into the syringe, and the syringe's needle delivers itprecisely where it's needed, with two holes near the needle's tipdistributing a marinade in both directions--right andleft--simultaneously. Made of plastic and stainless steel, the injectoris durable and the clear plastic syringe permits monitoring of themarinade's supply. 5-0 out of 5 stars Nice!
Ideal for people who wish to inject marinade into meat or for people who wish to gain entry to a hospital by posing as a doctor.

2-0 out of 5 stars Works great for a few times, then cracks.
This injector works great for a few times, but then cracks, not allowing you to suck-up the marinade or inject it. This was only hand-washed after every use.Don't waste your money on it; you will pull it out to use it, and will not be able to when you need it [like when you have that big turkey sitting on the counter, and find the injector unusable].The acrylic body needs to be redesigned and manufactured with another, more durable material, then it would be absolutely great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a meat injector that works!
I have gone through several of the injectors I could find at local stores and was always disappointed. They were all cumbersome to use and clogged when trying to inject a marinade with any spices or herbs. My Chef Williams Deluxe Marinade Injector is easily operated with one hand and CLOG FREE!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Kitchen Tool...No More Tough Meat!!!
This device works easily, quickly, and effectively. It does change the texture somewhat, but the trick is to not over tenderize.I made this mistake with some old frozen tough chuck.I pierced in all directions repeatedly; across, 90 degrees, a 45 degree angle going this way and that way and repeatedly; it stayed together, but it was more tender than meatloaf...not good.Twice over on each side and then twice again at a 90 degree angle is about right for typical chuck.Perhaps an extra pass if especially tough.
5-0 out of 5 stars Can't do any better than this
Wonderful.Tired of cleaning the splatters of blood and meat bits from the tile behind your kitchen counter?Throw that tenderizing hammer in the garage tool box and use this superb gadget instead.Never had chicken or beef that was better than this item produces.30 seconds and you are done.Beef or chicken cooks clean through even on the grill in half the time.Marinade really penetrates well.
3-0 out of 5 stars Tender but grainy feeling meat
The blades do what your teeth don't have to....chew the meat.It does make tough meat much more tender, but the texture of the meat becomes very unusual. It does NOT turn any cut of meat into the butter soft texture of Filet Mignon.I am totally worn out after the 5 minutes of hard work it takes to tenderize a cut of steak....I prefer to pay more for better meat than to Jaccard a cheap cut...When I was a chef in a steak house in Scottsdale, we used a liquid enzyme tenderizer which gave us the butter soft steaks I love to eat. ... Agree with the other reviewers, can't go wrong with this baster. clean look, high quality. easy to clean. can't mess with the stainless look. will stay in your top 10 tools for years to come.
5-0 out of 5 stars No lost bristles, easy to clean, and it works !!!!!
I did not expect this product to function as well as it does.I knew that it would not lose any bristles and that it would be easy clean. However, I expected those results to come at the price of efficiency.I was wrong.
5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a lasting basting brush!
I have always had trouble with regular basting brushes, as they tend to clump after you have used them for a while. This brush doesn't seem to suffer from this problem. The silicone bristles take a little while to get used to, but once you get a hang of it, the brush is a breeze to use and clean! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Thermometer
I have owned a Taylor Roast thermometer for 10 years and consider it an essential tool for the satisfactory cooking of roasts, hams, poultry, etc. I started worrying about the fact that I don't have a "back-up" thermometer and was so relieved thatI can get one from Amazon at a good price!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Tool
I have had my Taylor Classic Yeast/Roast Thermometer for about 30 years (to the best of my memory) and find it an excellent tool. It is utterly simple to use and totally dependable. I wash it in the dishwasher and toss it in a drawer to store. It is not fragile; the stainless insertion rod encases the glass, rendering it rather durable. We use it in the Weber grill, in the oven, and anywhere a cooking thermometer is needed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but fragile
I prefer to use thermometers without dials as they are more accurate.I was very pleased to get this thermometer a few days ago.I used it for the first time and it performed well. However, after I removed it from the meat I accidentially dropped it into my sink from about eight inches and the bulb that goes into the meat broke off.Five stars for accuracy, zero for durability.I will order another, but treat it as the fragile item that it is. ... This replacement probe fits the Polder Preprogrammed Cooking Thermometer, Wireless Remote Cooking Thermometer/Timer, and the Smart Fork. The 8-inch-long curved probe inserts into even the largest roast, while the 39-inch wire is long enough to reach from the cooking food to the sensor unit. The probe stays in the meat during cooking, and the oven door closes over the wire. Not to be used for taking the oven temperature, the probe is suitable for measuring cooking temperatures up to 392 degrees F (200 degrees C). Heat-resistant gloves or potholders should be used when handling the hot wire and probe. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Unreliable!!!!
These things are accurate-until they "fail".
1-0 out of 5 stars Multiple Probes failed quickly; bad batch? or just plain bad?
I've heard of others complaining that these probes will end up failing under "normal" use... something goes wrong at some point, and they just don't read right anymore.
1-0 out of 5 stars Beware - Fire Danger!!
After some years of satisfactory use the probe with my Polder thermometer/timer would occasionally not read the temperature so I purchased a replacement. Using it to caramelise sugar I found a deep color when the thermometer read only 260F. Switching quickly to the old probe it read 350F!! - about what I expected from the color.
