Good machine
I only used it once, and it worked fine.Of course, I only grinded chicken breasts, which is not much of a challenge, but it appeared powerful.

Good For Making Dog Food
I grind rabbit meat and bones to make dog food. It does a great job of pulling the meat (on the bones) from the hopper and I rarely need to use the pusher to force the meat down. The cleanup is pretty easy, but you do need to oil the blade and plates prior to storage. This is the best non-commercial option if you need enough power to grind bones as well as meat.

Good little machine
I used this grinder to make deer sausage.this was my first attempt to even grind my own meat or to make sausage.That little machine is easy to use no problem grinding the meat although it takes two people to make sausage.Link sausage that is with pig casings,using the saugage attachment.My daughter and i made 65 14"sausage links,and we hade fun doing it.that little machine is worth its money,and in my opinion not a bad price. ... It's NOT stainless-stell
I think the machine was great at first. It's fast and eficient, but if you have more than 5 lb.of meat to grind and you don't want smoke coming out from the motor,You might want to give it a break in between. Plus, the cutting plates and the feed screw turn rusting and black even you put cooking oilafter wash as directed by the instruction book, and they have this iron/metal smell on the cutting plate that contaminate the meat. I am very disappointed.

Second time the charm....
I purchased this grinder for multi-purpose use, both for pet food and for human use.The third or fourth time I used it, grinding turkey meat, the grinder made a clunking noise and stopped.The motor would run but the shaft would not turn.I disassembled it, cleaned all the removable parts, put it all back together, and still nothing.On picking up the grinder, I could hear something rattling around that sounded like it was in the motor casing, and preventing the shaft from turning.

My husband and I have been using electric grinders to make our cats' food since 1998 (used hand grinders prior to that).We have both the Tasin and this NT grinder.
Okay grinder, very poor stuffer
I bought this grinder so I could have a grinder and sausage stuffer as an 'all in one' unit.I bought pork and ground it up, ready to add seasoning and then stuff into the sausage casing.The rating of 176lb per hour is optimistic, but it does work okay.

Do Not Buy This * take the one star I gave it back*
With the rising cost of everything, including meat, we decided to purchase a meat grinder and make our own burger and sausage. We bought this one. do not make the same mistake. it is junk. the meat is smashed to a pulp in the tube rather than going down the tube to the end. dont get me wrong, it does eventually get to the end where it is forced out of the holes, but by then, all the grease ( trust me, I thoroughly scrubbed this) has been worked out of the handle shaft (this is a guess, Im not positive where it is coming from)and is also coming out of the grinder with the meat, in large clumps. after the grease has all been worked out, you get a lovely screech with every turn of the handle. I have never been so disgusted with a purchase in my life. complete waste of money. Also, the clamps do not hold the grinder in place. Picture this, and really think about it. I am turning the handle, my husband is holding the grinder still with both hands, every time I turn the handle, we get this screech. and we were tightening the mount constantly, it just doesnt hold. Now, imagine what that does for your temper. It is really not worth it, at all. We still intend to buy a different grinder, but not from this company.

not very efficient
I purchased this item and tried to use it but found it very difficult to keep the meat actually going into the casing. Most of the meat squeezed its way between the inside of the unit and the press which really made the process take a huge amount of time. I attempted to seal off the internal gaps to keep the meat going into the casings by wrapping ziplock bags around the press part but it barely made a difference.

it ain't pretty, but it works.
I have the kitchen aid sausage grinding/stuffing attachment....but this hunk of metal is awesome.Basic, cheap, quite and does the job.I now wish I would have gotten a manual grinder as well...and just may shortly.Looks like Grandma and Grandpa were right.It don't look pretty on the counter to the 'gormet'..but its a fine machine. ... A month later and I'm still happy
I have not found any problems which others have noted. One inch chunks of meat and larger have worked well.I have made sausage using beef, pork, chicken and turkey. What I have found is that when using the ginder for stuffing casings I need to remove the cutting plate, particularly with poultry, as the fat and skin tend to plug the holes in the plate. Once I did this the stuffing session went very quickly.All meat should be chilled thoroughly before grinding to help prevent the fats from plugging the plate holes. It would be nice if the instructions with the machine were more explicit. That is the only issue making it a four rather than a five star purchase for me. If this machine were stolen, I would buy another immediately.

Very good buy
I noticed some negative customer reviews for this item; its due to lack of food experience.This machine works very well, however, you do have to compensate for the fact that it's a home machine and it has a small feeding tube.You cannot put your average sized 1 inch/1 inch cube into the feeding tube.Yes, it will fit, but no it wont do a good job.Think about it, the big industrial machines take cubes that size.You also cannot run the machine without a steady flow of meat or have it running on empty.One of the reviews said that the machine burned out on the first try.Probably an overexageration but these machines will burn out if you run it on empty of do not keep a steady flow going through the feeding tube.
A good value
This grinder performs very well for the prices it's been selling for. When I saw this one, it was clear I had been looking at other units that were to high in price for a home unit and for my needs. I'm getting the same grind quality seen from a professional unit at the market. Granted it is not fast, but it's fine for me. You almost never see a grinder at any price with 3 coarsness disks. Unfortunately the disks are not stainless steel, but units costing $499.00 often don't have stainless either. Also, this grinder has a reverse feature which you rarely see at any price.

There is a reason no one uses these anymore.
God bless those pioneering women who had muscles like steel bands to crank a grinder handle for hours and the unexplained need to make meat mush from otherwise good meat.This has to be one of the worst retro-technology products that I have ever come across. From cutter blades that couldn't cut soft cheese without making fondue, it to parts that must have been cast from the thousandth recast of the original.Nothing fits well, nothing works well . . . in general it belongs where you see most of them, on a table at a garage sale with a $0.25 price tag.Don't waste your time, money or musclepower.

Very good grinder
Bought this since it ships free, although it may cost less in other site, but shipping generally adds $15 to the final cost.It is a cast iron version with zinc coating.Washing is required since there is a lot of metal powder on the surface, used a pound of beef to make sure it is clean.It does a good job, 10 lbs of meat took less than 15 minutes.Cleaning is reasonable simple.we used to have an electric one, but the manual grinder is a lot better since it is easier to control the speed.If you only have a pound or so meat to grind, it is not worth the trouble.The home made ground pork and beef is so much leaner, you will never buy those from store again.Highly recommended ... Mush Mess
I trimmed some sirloin steaks spotless and still this machine did nothing but clog clog and clog, which also results in meat mush, leaking juice from the handle and mess. It was all work and no play, big mistake!

Nice finish, good quality, stainless where it counts
First let me address the previous review.The grinder is stainless steel except for the cutter blades.They're carbon steel as they should be to hold an edge.The previous reviewer apparently did not follow the instructions.The cutters should be dried immediately after washing and oiled with cooking oil to prevent rust.The rest of the grinder is very nicely finished stainless steel, works well, and will not rust.I did not try it in a dishwasher.I ground 25 pounds of pork for sausage with no problem, and the grinder cleaned up as easily as you can expect anything to that's cut up that much pork fat.Just make sure the cutter blade is snug against the plate before you start grinding, and do expect to feel the effort in a muscle or two.If nothing is coming out, disassemble it, clear the cutters, and get the blades snug.

Stainless SteelMeatgrinder
I thought stainless steel does not rust. After the first time using the grinder, I put it in the dishwasher.When I took it out, the little wheel with all the holes was completly rusted, also the blade in some spots. Customer Service told me that I can't put the meatgrinder in the dishwasher to clean. Clean it in the sink with a little water. I feel it should've been posted with instructions on the website not to clean in the dishwasher. I never would've bought it. I never heard of anything so ridiculous.Anything cutting meat should be cleaned in as hot of water as you can get it. The thing is useless to me now, because I can't get the rust out of the little holes. I ask customer service to send me an manual where it says not to put in dishwasher.
