Attractive, but worthless
The first time I used it, the weld holding the scoop to the handle broke, leaving the scoop in the ice cream and the handle in my hand.

greatest thing since scooped ice cream
have used this for 20 years and it's still going strong. the freon that is sealed into the one piece die cast aluminum is warmed by your hand which warms the freon inside (you can hear it when you shake the scoop) and the freon gently warms the cup of the scoop allowing for easy release of the ice cream.

reminder on zeroll scoops and spades
Just a reminder that the scoops and spades contain a fluid in the handle that transfers the heat from your hand into the scoop cup or blade. It will leak out if placed in the dishwasher based upon the lquid's properties and the nature of the seal on the end of the handle. Nice concept, but
It's an interesting idea, using internal antifreeze to keep the scoop warm, but the drawback is that it tends to melt the ice cream still in the container.Either that, or after extended scooping, it gets cool again, and doesn't offer the same melting action.I've pretty much tried all the scoops made, and the Oxo one has by far been the best one, due to its comfortable rubber grip, which really makes the difference when scooping out the well frozen ice cream.Also, the smaller size makes it easier to make it into a cup; a spade is okay for a plate, but if you do cones or cups, you'd have to do some manuvering to get it in.

It was great - until I washed it!
Worked like a charm until I put it through the dishwasher, and now it always exudes a fine black residue. Maybe some kind of rust? Can't use it anymore unless I want black grime on my ice cream. I have emailed the manufacturer to ask what's going on; haven't heard back yet. ... Read more

No more straining to scoop ice cream
Yes, it's a little pricey but a great investment.The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because you can't just toss it in the dishwasher.It's great and doesn't strain your wrist when your trying to scoop.It basically melts the ice cream while you are scooping it.Just make sure you rinse it off after using it to avoid it pitting the metal.This is worth the money!!

Not the best out there....
Yes, the Tupperware scoop lives up to most of it's claims.But I want to share with you that there is a better scoop out there.The Tupperware scoop is very heavy and requires you to run it under hot water first.The Pampered Chef has a scoop very similar to this that uses the heat from your hand and is immediately ready to slice right through even the most frozen of icecreams.No, I'm not a consultant, just a happy customer.One word of warning for both of these products: don't leave the scoop in the box, even for a minute, it will melt all the way to the bottom.(I say this from experience)

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but this is nothin' special. If I take it out of the drawer and try to use it there is no difference than any other scoop. I have not put it in the dishwasher either. I usually have to run it under warm water and then use it, which is what I used to do with my other scoop. So, basically no big deal here. ... Read more
