Need replacement manual.
I only used this once; it was okay, and would like to try it again, but hv since moved and misplaced the manual that came with it.I hv tried in vain to find the recipes for this machine;would someone please just send me the simplest most basic recipe.I hv given up on finding a replacement recipe book.Otherwise it takes up a lot of room for nothing....thanks, MVanya TX

To noisy to be in the same room while the machine is running.The whole preparation before you start to make the ice cream is ridiculous. you first have to freeze the drum for atleast 24 hours. You also have to make the ice cream mixture the day before because you also have to refrigerate that for up to a day.The machine takes way to long to make the ice cream.There is also a very small portoin of ice cream to eat.The ice cream melts very fast so you have to hurry up and eat all of the ice cream so it does not melt.When I made ice cream using this machine it took up to two hours before I could start to serve it.Plus if the drum isn't cold enough its just going to sit in the machine wasting your money because it's just using electricty to do nothing.So your electric bill is more expensive.I have to admit the ice cream does taste very good but its just to big of a hassle to make this ice cream.I rather just go to my ice cream parlor in my town and purchase a bigger and less hassle ice cream cone for two dollars.I rather buy another machine.

runny serve
This ice cream maker stinks, it never mixes enough before the motor gets too hot and shuts down. I contacted the company and complained, so they sent me a new one. It does the same thing! And this after they said it was pulled from production and tested before being shipped to me.STINKS!!! ... Read more

This works only if...
My opinion swings both ways: this thing works without rock salt etc, which is great, and you can experiment with your own ingredients, also great. The downside? You have to have a freezer compartment which is large enough for placing the bowl into it and you must be patient because you need to pre-freeze/pre-refrigerate your bowl and ice cream mix. Also, the churning - some twenty to forty minutes - makes an awfully loud noise. I don't like that. Frankly, this machine is sitting around unused since long now, but then it's soon summer.
My kids & Ilove it!
My husband bought me this ice cream maker 2 years ago for Christmas. I have never made my own ingredients for it but buy the premade vanilla mix and add extras when the ice cream is done. The kids love to do this part too.
Works well if you use it properly
I have had this model for several years. I use it about once a month, and it has not given me any trouble. It does not freeze ice cream hard (if it did, the dasher would not be able to turn - duh); After 20 -30 minutes of churning, when a soft-serve texture has developed, I generally transfer the ice cream into a lidded plastic container, and let it set up in the freezer. It's important to cool your custard in the refrigerator (I set mine, covered, on the back porch in the wintertime) before pouring it into the canister. The motor is a bit noisy (not as bad as a blender of a food processor). The cleanup is easy because the motor, clear plastic cover, and dasher all come apart and a quick rinse with warm water is usually all that is necessary. Also use warm water to clean the cannister, and wipe it out quickly so that the water doesn't freeze on it. Don't freeze it upside down; you want the gel distributed in the bottom of the canister, (I learned this the hard way)and cover the top with a plastic bag to keep the canister clean. I think this is the better choice than the 1.5 quart model, because I stongly suspect that's the same product with a larger cannister, but no increase in motor power. ... Read more

Works, but not as advertised
When I first got this I followed the directions on the box for chocolate cookie ice cream exactly (which specified refrigerating the mixture for 30 minutes and freezing the gel canisters for 24 hours).This gave me something at about the consistency of a runny milkshake.My second try involved refrigerating the mixture for 18 hours and freezing the gel canisters for around 36 hours.That was more of a thick milkshake.
It worked great for me, not like the others reviewing it
I made some pistaschio ice cream a little over 2 hours ago with the ice cream maker and it was my first time using it.I have great ice cream here: not hard solid frozen but a nice soft ice cream. I used more heavy cream in relation to the half and half in the recipe and it only took 25 minutes to make instead of 40 minutes.I've had the bowls that you are supposed to freeze in the freezer for the last week [maybe the other reviewers didn't leave the bowls in the freezer long enough?] and after I mixed the cream mixture with the eggs on the stove I left this mixture in the refrigerator for 3 hours instead of the suggested two in the booklet.
Doesn't work
I got this machine a couple days ago hoping to make ice cream.After following the instructions carefully and chilling the canister for 24 hours, I plugged it in, and 40 minutes later I had a few ice crystals in the mixture.Thinking I'd done something wrong, I refroze the canister after turning down the thermostat on my freezer to make it even colder.I also made sure the mixture was chilled to just above freezing before trying again.After 30 minutes mixing, I had a soupy mess with big grainy ice crystals in it, but not ice cream.I'm going to return this and get something from a different manufacturer. ... Makes delicious treats!!
I have used this waffle cone maker a few times to make my favourite 'waffle rolls' and everyone loved them. I add milk to the simple but great recipe that is provided by the manufacture, and together with the filling, my waffle rolls make delicious treats for any occasion!!

Makes bad cones (irregular)
Makes very irregular waffles. Some parts are overbaked some underbaked.... :( We have tryed two samples of this product and both were the same :(((
