Good garlic press, but...
This is a sturdy garlic press with a chamber large enough for 2 or 3 cloves at a time.The only issue with this press is that the piston is a bit smaller than the chamber, which allows some of the pressed garlic to leak back past the piston.

I'm buying more of these for presents.
This is the best chopper. I have a small food processor and a large food processor.I have purchased those handheld types that you pound up and down.I've went through several of those, because they are handy.Well this one is just as handy.It cleans up so easily.I don't have to twist parts to lock in place, just place the top over the non-skid bottom and BOOM! Your chopping.It doesn't mush your food either, it chops!

I just received my food chopper on today and immediately washed it out in some Dawn w/bleach detergent.I followed the directions as to how to prepare my veggies before putting them into the chopper and didn't have any problems whatsoever.I chopped up some celery, scallions and one hard-boiled egg to add to canned tuna and canned turkey. Then, I spooned the chopped mixture into separate bowls with one tablespoon of Hellman's mayo, 2 teaspoons of sweet relish and a few sprinkles of black pepper.I put this over some lettuce and it was very tasty!!! Most of the rack and lids are not made of metal, but painted plastic. The circular top and bottom are the only metal parts on it, and those are just a thin metal shell over plastic underneath them.

Proctor Silex Food Chopper
My second one.Perfect for that small chopping job.Makes chicken salad, turkey salad, egg salad, ham salad, shrimp salad and tuna salad sandwiches tast better being ground up finer than cutting with a knife.

a very convenient food processor
I got this food processor in order to make pesto sauce.I'm sure it will work will salsa and bruschetta, as well.It's the perfect size, dishwasher safe (blade, cup, and lid), and it chops very cleanly.It's so easy to use and store since it's so small. For making just a little bit of pesto, maybe just a quarter cup, it would really be annoying to have to take out and clean a larger food processor.But this food chopper is the perfect size for such a small amount...or anything up to 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups really.I'm really glad I bought this...and it was just the right price. No need to get a larger, clumsy, and more expensive larger food processor that won't get used as often.

Its a Rip off!
I wanted to have an onion cutter that would make my life easier. after buyingthis i found that it was tough to use. I had to apply all my body weight to cut onion. 2nd day , it broke.
ItWorks Well - So Far
My family makes and freezes four huge pots of spaghetti sauce every 3 or 4 months. The recipe calls for 3 large white onions to be chopped up for each pot - the most time consuming part of the ingredient prep phase. For the last batch we made, my wife pulled out this onion chopping device and said "try this". I was skeptical but willing to try anything to avoid chopping up 12 large onions. Well, it worked. I estimate it cut my chopping time in half. I thought I had broken it several times, since you really have to muscle the onion pieces through the blades, which causes a loud bang when the lid closes, but it didn't break.
Buy a good knife!
When I saw this chopper I thought it was a very good idea. It was a good idea if it had only worked as Progressive described it, or if I was 6 ft tall and worked out all the time. I have had to put this gadget on the floor and step on it with my heel to cut even a small section of a small onion through the not very sharp blade. There seems to be inconsistancies as to how sharp the blade is which tells me that there was very poor quality control in the manufacturing of this chopper. There appears to be no middle ground in the reviews. Are we all talking about the same chopper? If you have to cut the veggies into small pieces to make this work, why not just continue cutting with a high quality knife. It's just as fast if you practice a little slicing, dicing and chopping. The amount of time to clean my knife is much less than how long it takes me to clean out the little pieces of onion that stick in the blade and the plastic top! Gummy handles in dishwasher
We have had this garlic press for a number of years, but now its handles have turned so gummy from repeated dishwashing that they turn the kitchen counter black just by laying it down. Plan on buying a new one every couple of years.

Excellent feel and weight!
This is the best garlic press I have used. Very nice weight. Easy to use and clean. The only thing negative about it is the plastic cleaning teeth that can be broken while cleaning if not handled carefully.

She's so heavy...

Works great while it works
This product does an excellent job of chopping everything from nuts to cheese.But, after only a year and a half of light use, it quit working. The blades still spin, but it no longer is capable of chopping anything. So, unless you are fascinated by spinning blades, it is useless.Not a good life cycle for an appliance.

Nice chopper
This cute chopper is a big help to me. It makes fast and fine chopping-up and saves a lot of time for me. It's a little bit small and contains only "pulse chopping" control. However, I found it easy and convenient to use, and is sufficient for single or couple family use.

The is the easiest pepper grinder to Unfill I have ever set my hands on!! While it is easy to fill and has a great grind, all the good points are nullified when dining area cleanup is required after a user can easily open the filling port during use.The fill port opens in THE SAME TWIST DIRECTION AS GRINDING and is located where fingertips will overlap the grind wheel and just touch the rotating fill port cover. If the next user does not keep the grinder vertical when passing or using, pepper corns will spill and roll in a most inconvenient manner at the worst possible time.I would send the designer to a hell of picking up peppercorns for eternity!

I always try to buy aesthetically pleasing things (e.g. the Vic Firth stainless salt mill) but sometimes you just have to go with what works -- this works.Actually, it mills so fast that it takes some getting used to but it is worth it ... but it not the prettiest mill ...

Very, very nice design
For years, I've been using an awkward wooden pepper mill roughly the size and shape of a table leg, a gift from one of my in-laws. The gear finally broke, giving me an excuse to shop for something more ergonomic -- especially since I've developed arthritis in my hands and arms in the past couple of years. This is the easiest pepper machine to operate I've ever used, the long horizontally-rotating arm being very easy on the hands. The large opening for filling means I don't have peppercorns on the floor anymore, nor do I have to shovel them into a tiny hole with the tip of a teaspoon. As other reviewers have noted, it would be nice if it would sit loosely on its lid without the necessity of pulling it off for each use -- but that also means I don't leave a trail of errant pepper between the island and the cooktop. And it took me a few days to discover that you have to press the wheel up into the base to adjust the fineness of the grind (there are no directions), but once I caught on to that, the adjustment seems to stay where I put it -- unlike some other people's experience, apparently. I can only hope this beautifully designed instrument lasts a long, long time.

Although I'm not THAT old, I still have trouble with the ones that have the grinder as part of the barrel.This one is easy to fill, easy to grind.

Great little grinder.
I'd never even thought of an electric pepper grinder until this came up as a recommendation on Amazon. I bought one based on the reviews. It's the best pepper grinder I've ever owned or used. I, too, recharge batteries, so battery life is not an issue. Still, I've used this at almost every meal for a few weeks and haven't had to change them yet.

Superior design and function
After years of using cheap, hard to use, hard to clean, and inefficient garlic presses I finally bought this one...based mostly on the 18/10 stainless steel (instead of aluminum or cheap pot metal) and good reviews.It is certainly worth every penny and all of the glowing reviews are spot-on. A perfect marriage of form and function.Even large cloves of garlic are easily and completely crushed, virtually squirting out the inner garlic and leaving behind only the outer skin.Not only is it efficient, it is beautifully designed and very easy to clean.One reviewer felt it was not very ergonomic for small hands....I wear size 6 ladies gloves and have absolutely no trouble using this press at all. The Rösle Garlic Press is the best garlic press I've used in 45+ years of crushing garlic.I fully expect this press to last for a lifetime.

Unbreakable
It's crazy, but you do have to spend this much for a garlic press. I make three gallons of pesto every year, and I've broken four different presses. There either aluminum, cheap pot metal, or have some terrible hinge design (Zyliss and Oxo to name a few). I give the Rosle a four star because of it's design for very large hands - not very ergonomic. Check out the Kuhn Rikon. Either way, stainless and a hinged drop out sieve is way to go for any garlic press.

I have limited counterspace in my kitchen, so I wanted a free-standing spice rack.I live in an apartment and part of the lease agreement is for no nail or screw holes in the wall.I like the design of this rack, plus the price is right, but I was really dissapointed to find out that it does not in fact stand upright.Its too wobbly and tips over.This was a big negative for me because the ad specifically lists free-standing as an attribute. not the easiest clean up
it does work great, however i think mine is missing the clean up piece. i ordered this on 1/23/06 and it did NOT come with the insert. however, besides having to use a toothpick to clean it; it works great. plus, there are only a few holes that clogged so it doesn't take forever to clean, however, i thought it would be super easy to clean. it isn't.

Extremely pleased!
We purchased this pepper mill for ourselves. We like it so well, that we are ordering five more for gifts for our kids and friends. We have four other pepper mills and none of them compare to this one.

Great Product!!!
I hesitated to purchase this peppermill after reading some previous posts, but I can honestly say it was one of the best purchases I have made!In fact, my 2 sisters visited from Indiana and I just ordered them each one as a surprise gift when they arrive home.They were extremely impressed with the ease of operation - one handed - just press the button.Easy to fill and very easy to keep looking brand new.All around impressive!

poorly designed on-off control
I love the speed at which I can grind a lot of pepper with this for preparing large dishes.However, the button often gets stuck in the "on" position, so this is not useful when you need to grind small amounts on an individual dish.In fact, the button often turns on when the mill gets bumped accidentally.I have ground a lot of pepper onto the shelf in my kitchen cupboard!My husband hates this mill, despite his love for pepper. ... Not a good chopper!
Again, another KitchenAid product I got hoping for quality (because it's KitchenAid, it SHOULD be QUALITY!) and thouroughly dissapointed. It really is hard to take apart and put together and does a very poor job with the actual chopping, which is what is it's only function. My Mom has the original Pampered Chef chopper and it's a dream! I was hoping this one would be just as good. It's not. Do not buy!

This chopper does a poor job, with a fine line between chopping and pulverizing, and takes way too much effort to chop a reasonable portion of most vegetables.
So-so, I suppose
I had high hopes for this product. It's definatly not as good as I expected. I had one of these years ago from some no-name company and it worked great. After years of use and abuse, it finally broke. So I replaced it with this, thinking it would be better because it's KitchenAid. This is difficult to take apart after using-I feel like I'm going to break it. It doesn't hold very much. It's also a pain to clean, almost impossible if you don't clean it IMMEDIATLY after you use it. I used mine to chop garlic about 2 months ago and it smells like it still. may deserve 5 stars...
solid, well made, cool looking and I think works well.wife doesn't like it because only a small amount of pepper per pump, which is true but I don't think someone would expect large amounts "per pump" from this... certainly good enough for peppering a meal versus cooking.I'm going to buy the salt mill to go with it.four stars because of my wife's opinion and it is a bit pricey...otherwise I'd give it five.

Don't waste your $$$$ - like grinding a duck!
When I ordered this product, it had a 4 star average rating- how that happened is beyond me. Were a zero star rating available, this product wouldn't even deserve the string of uncolored stars!
Poor and Inconsistent Grinding
Unless you love the look of this pepper grinder, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. When compared to a generic grinder, this product produces inferior and very inconsistent grinds. I've gone so far as to grind peppercorns onto a white sheet of paper to look at them. With this grinder you'll always get a huge variation in the grind. Some of the pieces of the peppercorns will be large enough that it would give anyone pause to wonder whether foreign matter had somehow entered the dish. The oval top is quite slippery and when you tighten down the top nut to reduce the grind to something that will prove acceptable, you'll have trouble turning it. Not recommended.
