Professional chefs have long sung the praises of the KitchenAid stand mixer. Now, KitchenAid has designed a product specifically for the home baker with this nine-speed hand mixer. Its digital display shows the selected speed, providing precision control, while an electronic sensor works with the powerful yet lightweight motor to maintain that speed in any mixture, heavy to light. Designed with nonclogging air vents, the mixer is easy to clean because smooth, sleek surfaces have no seams or grooves that trap ingredients. The mixer comes with traditional beaters, a pro whisk attachment for fluffier mixes, and a one-year warranty. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a workhorse--I love it!!
This mixer is such a workhorse; it is always up for any amount of mixing you want to do.I have a black one that came with accessories--dough hooks, whisk, and drink mixer rod. What impressed me the most, along with the normal mixing and whisking, is when I used the dough hooks to mix a LARGE amount of ground beef mixture that I was preparing to make a couple of meat loaves and meatballs with.It tackled it with ease.
5-0 out of 5 stars You Can't beat KitchenAid!
This is my third KitchenAid hand mixer. My first was a three speed, my second a five speed and now I have the nine speed. Each one has had more power than the last. This is light weight and has an easy to use digital speed control that is not in your way when you are using the mixer. I always wanted the KitchenAid stand mixer, but when my children were home, I couldn't afford it and now that I can afford it, the hand mixers from KitchenAid have made me realize its just not necessary to have the big one that takes up a lot of counter space. The nine speed is wonderful. The lower two speeds are for stirring. My other two mixers didn't have that capability. I was surprised how much power this mixer has. If you don't have the room or don't want to spend the money to buy a big stand mixer, buy this one. It's a great little mixer with a lot of power.

5-0 out of 5 stars This mixer's for me!
I needed a good mixer with multiple speeds, and this mixer fit the bill.My first use was to make quick breads~4 loaves of banana bread. The low speeds were helpful blending the large quantities of ingredients.

Editorial Review

Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. For mixing, beating, and whipping, there are two cunningly designed beaters that produce volume while reducing splashing. For kneading, there's a strong dough hook, and for blending, there's an attachment that can be used in the accompanying 2-cup container (or any container) for small jobs like salad dressings. For chopping, the power unit attaches to another container with its own blades to make quick work of nuts, onions, hard cheeses, herbs, garlic, and meats. (The container's base serves as a snap-on plastic lid for storage.) The mixer/blender has three speeds and a power-pulse button for working through tough jobs. It stands upright on a nonskid base, and its power cord pivots to stay out of the way or can be locked in place. This appliance carries a one-year warranty against defects. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for small batches of baby food!
I would give this mixer 5 stars, except that I need to buy my third mixer in 11 years. Its nice to have one tool that is a mixer, can make healthy fruit smoothies, AND can make small batches of homemade baby food. I used this small chopper to make baby food for all 4 of my kids, the mixer to make cakes and other things, and the blender for smoothies for the kids. If you have babies, or plan on having them, this is great to have. The bad thing, is that the motor burns out. I don't feel I abuse it, or overuse it, but my first mixer burned out in about 5 years, my second in another 5 years. This is not a long term appliance. My current multimix is a 280 watt, but my first one was smaller wattage I believe.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good mixer for the price
I must admit that I did not have high expectations for this mixer for the price. But the unit works very well.I was initially put off by the beaters as they seem very lightweight and flimsy. But they hold up well to use in spite of their lack of heft.I have been very happy with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wife loves it
Our 15 year old Braun hand mixer was giving up the ghost, so looked through the mixers on Amazon. This mixer had by far the best feedback.Bought it, and everyone is right. This is a great product. Not the most expensive, but works well.Attachments actually work and are useful. ... Read more

With a 225-watt motor for accomplishing tough jobs, this compact hand mixer provides power and versatility. Two sets of stainless-steel beaters--traditional flat-bladed and easy-cleaning wire--and a whisk for whipping cream and beating egg whites come with the mixer, and six speeds are available by pushing a button atop the handle with your thumb. In addition, just below the speed control, there is another thumb-activated button, which Hamilton Beach calls the QuickBurst. This button provides an extra charge, available at any speed, for powering through tough tasks. Other attributes include a rest so the mixer can hang on a bowl's edge instead of messing up the counter with dripping beaters or whisk, a flat platform on the mixer's end so it stands up for compact storage, a tangle-free cord, and dishwasher-safe beaters and whisk. 5-0 out of 5 stars Portable Hand Mixer
I wanted a portable mixer to be able to grab in a hurry. This works fine and is perfect for which I wanted it.If I need something bigger I use my Kitchen Aid on a stand.Nice quality for the price.I like the way the cord is stored.

4-0 out of 5 stars #1 speed setting too fast
OK, for twenty bucks it works reasonably well.We like the storage container to hold the attachments. But if you're looking for a lower speed to blend ingredients like flour or pancake mix, buy something else. The #1 speed setting is way too fast.Anything higher than #4 will decorate your kitchen walls "at no extra charge".

5-0 out of 5 stars Works well
I cook for a family of 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and clean
This hand blender is GREAT because I make fresh salsa often and it's a lot easier to use and clean this hand blender than to use my food processor. The attachments are easy to remove and store.I've looked at a few different hand blenders and I think that quality will always be worth the extra money you put into the product. It's been worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy, Effective, Convenient
I love this hand blender. It makes great smoothies. I use all frozen fruit---berries, bananas, peaches, etc.I just make sure that the berries are not whole, and the blender works just fine. The plastic mixing container is the perfect size. Also, the detachable bottom half of the blender makes it a breeze to clean. This is so much easier than using a traditional blender to make a smoothie.

5-0 out of 5 stars Also a great whip
I already had two diffrent brands of hand blenders (both house warming presents) and they worked fine. However, I bought this for the purely frivolous reason that it matched my other KitchenAid appliances (stand mixer, food processor, and blender).

Professional chefs have long sung the praises of the KitchenAid stand mixer. Now, KitchenAid has designed a product specifically for the home baker with this five-speed hand mixer. Very portable, this mixer allows you to roam the kitchen and mix at will. Its powerful yet lightweight motor maintains consistent beater speed even in heavy mixtures and won't bog down. The mixer comes with traditional beaters and also dough hooks for raised yeast doughs--simply change attachments to mix heavy bread doughs and delicate whites all with the same machine. Designed with nonclogging air vents, the mixer is easy to clean because smooth, sleek surfaces have no seams or grooves that trap ingredients. This mixer also comes with a one-year warranty. 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product
The Kitchen Aid hand mixer is actually more than I expected. It is light weight, easy to use, and has attachments that other mixers don't usually have. While it is more expensive than your average hand mixer, I definitely feel I got my money's worth.I have other Kitchen Aid products and they last forever. I have never been disappointed in their performance.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a good thing.
I purchased this product because I have recently starting baking cookies and stirring cookie dough by hand left my arm and shoulder sore.I know Kitchenmaid as a quality product name. Instead of the large mixer I opted for this handheld model because I don't have alot of counter top or space.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Hand Mixer!
I've owned this mixer for 2 years. I use it at least once a week. It mixes everything I use it to mix, including bread dough (with the dough hooks, 4 C flour recipe). It mixes thoroughly and quickly. I've bought one for each of my daughters and they each love this mixer! Cooks Illustrated Magazine (America's Test Kitchen) rated this the top hand mixer of all the hand mixers they tested. They were right!

Pound for pound, a good hand mixer is perhaps the most laborsavingkitchen device. While my grandmother relied on arm strength and force of will tobeat a stiff dough or to mash potatoes, a light and easily maneuvered hand mixersaves time and muscles. This one from KitchenAid features seven-speed digitaltouch control for precision mixing, and an electronic sensor that will adjustthe power as you go, so you maintain a steady mixing speed. If you're beating adelicate batter, you can use the Soft Start feature and ease into faster speed. When you're finished, the beaters are easily ejected. If you've ever battledheavy doughs, you'll appreciate the beaters' design: they don't have a centerpost, so dough won't collect in the middle of the beater and clog the machine. It's also designed for easy cleaning. Features

  • The ideal baker's companion: creams, whips, and beats with ease
  • Thin, torqued blades and no center post in the beaters reduce clogging and provide easier cleanup
  • User-friendly digital touch-pad with seven settings
  • Electronic sensor adjusts power, maintaining a steady mixing speed
  • One-year warranty; 200-watt motor

5-0 out of 5 stars It's fabulous!
I do a lot of baking during the holidays and I had just gotten fed up with my other mixer.I researched and found this mixer, thinking the 7-speed would be just right, not too much power as the 9-speed might be, and not too little power as the 3- or 5-speed might be.So, I bought it as my gift to myself.I've used it a couple times so far this year and I love the low speed mix feature where it does not throw the dry ingredients out of the bowl when first mixing. The beaters are delicate enough to handle a thin mix while the speeds give it enough power to handle the thicker mixes.Besides, the thinner beaters leave more of the mix in the bowl and less on the beaters when I remove them...something my teenage son doesn't like (he gets to lick them). And the digital display and controls are so easy to use.I absolutely love this mixer and am thrilled with how it pulls the ingredients together for the doughs and frostings so quickly and easily.I highly recommend this product!

3-0 out of 5 stars Could be better
I have enjoyed my mixer being lightweight, quiet, easy to clean, and the slow-start feature is great. However the beater locks wear out prematurely and it is IMP0SSIBLE to buy parts to fix it. Kitchenaid would rather sell you another one at $70 than sell you a part to fix it for $2 or $3. And yes I have checked many, many web sites and the beater locks are not available there either. The reviews on the web indicate that the Cuisinart is heavier duty. I think I'll try that one.

1-0 out of 5 stars country of manufacture
Amazon lists the country of manufacture as the USA. The information is false. I called to confirm and discovered that Kitchen Aid manufactures this product in China, a country that floods the world market with products manufactured in forced labor camps. Moreover, given the cost of labor in China, it seems that Kitchen Aid charges a PREMIUM for this product. Braun, on the other hand, manufactures their hand mixers in Spain--a country with laws against slave labor. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent mixer
I bought this mixer in lieu of a stand model due to storage issues. So far, I've been really impressed. It is both powerful and quiet - so quiet that I wasn't sure it was working that hard until I really looked at the batter I was mixing and saw that, yes, it was blending together quite well!It is very comfortable to use, and relatively light for a hand mixer.I bought this when it was on sale for $39.99, as it's the same product as the other 9-speed model, but at the time was much cheaper.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a solid, reliable hand mixer.

5-0 out of 5 stars The price I paid made this 6 stars.
This is the most versitile hand mixer KitchenAid makes. 9 speeds and 2 different types of beaters make this an integral part of your kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots of power
I am an avid cook and adore my KitchenAid stand mixer and thought I'd never need a hand mixer again. Not so,I find myself pulling this little baby out often. It's got the guts to whip cookie dough to a froth.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome
I love the extra long batters of this hand mixer that bring a lot of air in the egg whites and make the result fluffier. My problem is now to find an extra deep mixing bowl to avoid splashing all this outside the bowl!

A speed demon in racy red, this 300-watt hand mixer puts professional blending power into home-prepared batter and dough. Five speeds give this mixer the versatility to blend liquids on low, beat batter or icing on medium, and mix dough or mash potatoes on high. Three different attachments help mix ingredients to the desired consistency: a pair of beaters mixes cake batter or creams butter and sugar; two dough hooks knead thick, yeast-based dough thoroughly; and a wire balloon whisk whips cream or egg whites.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars overall nice handmixer
I too purchased this hand mixer as a backup for my kitchenaid counter mixer. The looks and weight of mixer are great.I like the exterior material that seems to take a beating if you bump it.The cord that twists back into the base is a cool idea to keep cords from hanging but mine tends to get tangled up inside and then its hard to get back out.The power of this unit has so far been awesome.I feel like I'm using a high quality power tool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Red color not as red
This is an early review: I have had the red Dualit for a few days
5-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding power and ease of use
If you are looking for a hand mixer for those times when you don't want to haul out your stand mixer and it is in your price range, I highly recommend this Dualit mixer.Made with the same attention to detail and quality as their industrial-strength toaster, this mixer has an amazing amount of power--my first use never took me past the first speed. The soft-touch really is extremely comfortable, and the mixer is light weight. The internal cord storage (one twists the back to roll the cord into the unit) is very handy for storage in tight spaces. You really can tell the difference between this mixer and those others that one can purchase at a hardware or discount store. While I love my Kitchen Aid (which is coming up on 18 years of heavy use), this has been an amazing addition to my kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy, practical tool for a great price
I trust Kitchenaid's products completely, and this immersion blender is not an exception. I use this for blending soups and am pleased with the quiet motor and efficient results every time. The various attachments are handy and just about everything can be stored in the included Kitchenaid canvas storage bag.

I was very happy, until this blender broke. Was very careful with it, but after only 5 weeks, it was done.Called the "hassle free replacement warranty customer satisfaction center"and they said they would ship out a new one.Great!

Editorial Review

Packing 220 watts and electronically programmed to deliver extra power when it's needed, this hand mixer is powerful enough to cut through butter straight from the refrigerator. A thumb control atop its comfortable handle offers five speeds for precise work. Its stainless-steel beaters are extra large for speedy mixing and better aeration of egg whites and whipped cream, and they don't have a center post so they're easy to clean. (They're dishwasher-safe, also.) The mixer carries a three-year warranty against defects. Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars great product while it lasts
This has been a great mixer for nearly 3 years. Now it has developed the same problem others have described = the beaters don't turn smoothly, rendering it impossible to use. I replaced the beaters thinking one may have been bent. But they simply stick and won't turn whether in individually or together. I was thinking about replacing it with the same model, hoping this was a fluke. But seeing that other people have had the same experience, I'll find something else. Very disappointing.

1-0 out of 5 stars disappointing
At first I was happy with this mixer. My last mixer lasted about 10 years and cost very little. This mixer cost more, I thought was a good brand, and lasted only abut 2 yrs.Something happened to make one of the beaters turn sporatically and hit the other beater. Threw it away.

2-0 out of 5 stars warranty? what warranty?
I bought this mixer on sale, at a department store & set it aside for future use. I was pleasantly surprised with the power...yet as others have noted, it was too powerful for wet foods...Does a larger bowl help? Rarely. I used this mixer for a little over a year and suddenly the left beater sputters and stops, rendering the whole mixer useless. I tried to e-mail customer service, several times...Always came back as an error. I finally made a telephone call.. a total waste of my time. The warranty had expired. Period. Would I buy another? Never. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Rusty Beaters?
I received this a shower gift a few years ago.Standard mixer, can't do anything too drastic with it, but I noticed the last time I took the beaters out of the dishwasher they had rusted. These are not stainless beaters and they will rust.I'm in the market for a new mixer.

1-0 out of 5 stars spend a little more for a better mixer
this is clearly a case of "you get what you pay for". for easy jobs this mixer works fine, but give it a thick batch of brownie mix or cookie dough and the motor will just die

2-0 out of 5 stars I WAS surprised.....
I was in need for a cheap mixer, for thanks giving, this is the exact model that I got from target. I was surprised what this mixer could do, for only being 125 watts. It did handle great too. I was mixing a big batch of oatmeal cookies for my big 14 people feast, when the motor died. I started out smoothly, trying not to put too much pressure on the already struggling motor. I dont know what I did, but the mixer kept slowing down slower and slower untill it rest at a real slow speed, where the beaters almost weren't moving, and I could tell that the motor was burning, for my hand on the handle could feel the heat. I could also feel the sputtering of the motor. I unplugged it, and plugged it back in, even though it was still burning, and tried again. The beaters still looked as if they weren't moving. Then there was a POP! Smoke and a horrid smell were coming through the front vents. I was mad that I couldn't finish the cookies, yet at the same time, I feel bad that everything I do breaks something :(I guess I shouldn't expect cheap stuff to do heavy jobs. ... Read more
