Stainless-steel blades guarantee a long life and an even grind, whether you use this grinder for coffee, spices, nuts, or even whole grains. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not for spices at all!
I needed a spice grinder and got this because it was the only one available locally at the time. The box on it said "Coffee and spice grinder," and my father used one of these for coffee for years, so I figured it had to be okay. After buying it, it was obvious that the "spice grinder" part was a marketing gimmick as the included docs didn't talk about it at all.End result, while it did a fine job grinding, it is impossible to clean!Neither the metal bowl nor the blade can be removed, so you can't scrub it, especially the bottom of the blade. There is also a seam between the bowl and the plastic which collects ground spices.Unless you want your freshly ground cinnamon tasting like coriander and black pepper, don't buy this unless you buy one for each spice.I'm sure it does a fine job with coffee, but for spices, it is not good and I feel ripped off.I kept it and cleaned as best I could until I found a Kitchen-Aid model, that while not quite as good at grinding, is able to be cleaned.Much better!

3-0 out of 5 stars Only a shadow of it's former self
I was given a Krups model 203 in 1976. It worked perfectly, every single day... until I dropped it, two weeks ago. I'm getting it repaired now.
5-0 out of 5 stars Better than the Braun
A little over 6 months ago we read about the benefits of grinding flaxseed and eating it with cereal, and decided to try it.So we bought the Braun KSM-2 grinder for the purpose, and it worked reasonably well.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor quality - way too loud
The first thing I noticed was how loud this device is - it'll wake up the whole house! The grinder worked fine for 30 days and then just died.Cheap plastic construction is not made to last.Save your money buy something more expensive and of higher quality.

1-0 out of 5 stars coffee maker
Beware - order this combo and. . ???I ordered the coffee maker July 4th and still have not received it !!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Value, Huge Improvement Over Blade Grinder
I've been grinding my own beans every morning for over 25 years now.I've used a Krups blade grinder for years. It finally gave out and I decided that my love for coffee warranted a burr grinder.I read a ton of reviews, looked at several in person and then decided on this Lello Ariete model.

Editorial Review

Large enough to grind up to 2-1/2 ounces of coffee beans (enough for 12 cups), this powerful grinder ensures that freshly ground coffee is quickly available, even for big coffeemakers in the office. The details are what make this grinder exceptional: The lid is transparent for monitoring the grind, and has two down-pointing ribs to guide beans toward the blades for even grinding. The design of the stainless-steel blades, combined with the 150-watt motor, means beans can be ground quickly without overheating and spoiling the coffee's taste. For safety, the grinder will not work unless the lid is securely in place and locked down. Finally, the power cord wraps around the grinder's bottom for neat storage. Clad in elegant black , the grinder carries a one-year warranty against defects. Read more

This smartly designed, finely tunable burr coffee grinder from Krups is built on the premise that good coffee starts with the freshest, most appropriate grind. Equipped with an expert-quality burr milling system, the machine turns out very consistent grounds with minimal heat for the best-tasting coffee. Its coarseness dial offers 17 distinct settings to create precisely the right grind for the occasion, brewing method, and kind of bean. In addition, the quantity dial, ranging from 2 to 12 cups, lets you grind no more coffee than you need, which helps preserve fresh aroma and flavor.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons after 10 Months of Use
After a "long term road test" of this Krups Coffee Grinder, I wanted to summarize my experience. I have used it pretty much daily. It replaced another Krups grinder (blade not burr) that I had used off and on for 20+ years.
2-0 out of 5 stars this grinder sucks.
Okay, this is the first time i've written a review, but I had to because I'm usually very easy to please.NOT this time! This grinder (for $[...]) is awful.First of all, the SECOND time i used it, the grinder was running, yet the beans wouldn't go down into the grinder and it just whizzed away (which by the way, will throw off your cups measured if it thinks it's grinding and it's not).I had to knock on it just to get the beans to grind.THEN, the even on the coarsest setting, the ground coffee was WAY too fine.Just like baby powder. It made horrible coffee that was very bitter. And don't say it's my coffee maker. It's not.Very dissapointed.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, low-priced Burr Grinder
So far (about two weeks) I like this grinder better than what I came from-a blade grinder. It provides a much more consistent result than a blade grinder. The size is of the machine good not too bulky, the quality of the machine is typical of something in this price point, plastic, fairly light-weight etc. Otherwise, the fit and finish should be just fine for the everyday user. Not sure it will actually hold up for the user with 'long-term' expectations though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value and easy to clean
Recently bought the KitchenAid BCG100WH Blade Coffee Grinder to replace my Braun coffee grinder and I can say that I am really impressed. I have had the KitchenAid grinder for about 2 weeks now and it is the best low cost grinder that I have played with. First off the noise level when grinding is a lot less than that of Braun. It is still loud, but it is more like a car without its muffler versus a 767 talking off. Second, it is super easy to clean. Before the Braun would take forever to clean as grinds would get stuck is the seam between the metal and the plastic. With the KitchenAid, the entire basin is metal and dishwasher safe. The plastic cover does occasionally get grind it the lip, but they quickly wash out with a rinse of water. As for the grind quality, it does a good job, but you are not going to use this with your expresso machine.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great For Grinding Flax Seeds
My main reason for purchasing this coffee grinder was not for coffee beans but for flax seeds. I had been using a mortar and pestle for my flax seeds every morning but grew tired of doing that. I researched for awhile and liked that the metal grinder chamber could be removed for cleaning. That was my main concern, since I was using it for flax seeds/spices and not coffee. I found this to be the only model that had it. The grind is not always consistent but it doesn't really matter to me. It is so simple to use, easy to clean up and it does not make a huge mess like I had read. The only negative comment I have is, it is a bit loud, but that's like all grinders and choppers. I have a number of KitchenAid products and I am always very pleased with them. I have been using this for 4 months now and my wrists are happy to have the mortar and pestle in storage. I purchased this grinder for $29.99 and that's a great deal.

3-0 out of 5 stars Uneven grind
I bought this grinder for a couple of reasons, based on some of the other user reviews.First, I love that the grinding chamber is removable for cleaning and emptying. It's not exactly unique, but it's useful nonetheless. Many of the reviews that I read said that this particular blade grinder had a very consistent grind. With my experience over the last month since I've purchased it, this is simply not true. The grind has been very uneven, with some very course grind mixed with parts that almost like powder. This is probably the most important part of an appliance, so if you're looking for the quality of the grind, look elsewhere.

3-0 out of 5 stars Hamilton Beach 80374 Deluxe Custom Coffee Grinder
It would be great if it did not have a faulty on button, which works just sometimes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best grinder for the money
I couldn't recommend this grinder more highly. It is solidly constructed, and the manufacturer took the time to add all the little details that are missing on cheaper models, like no-slip feet and a retractable cord (which is a little short, perhaps the one negative to this otherwise perfect product). The stainless steel grinder bowl is well designed - it has gradiated markings to let you know how many beans to put in for the number of cups of coffee you intend to brew, and it perfectly grinds the beans to your desired coarsness. In addition, it is removable AND dishwasher safe, making for easy cleaning.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good buy
Solid build. Use it everyday.

Editorial Review

Grind coffee with the ease and accuracy of a professional with this coffee grinder by La Pavoni. The bean chamber conveniently holds 4 ounces of coffee (enough for 18 cups) so you won't need to keep refilling it when brewing for a large group. The fineness selector on the left side of the unit has 19--count 'em, 19--settings, from coarse to extra fine. And ground size does matter, as this accurate grinder will soon teach you: use coarse grounds for your French press, medium for your drip machine, and fine for espresso. Happily, this precision machine doesn't leave much room for human error. Set the amount of coffee you are going to grind for the number of cups desired, and an automatic portion timer will hold you to the proper grind time, switching itself off when finished. This heavy-duty grinder grinds slowly with burrs instead of a blade so there's no heat buildup, thereby ensuring those flavorful oils you know and love remain intact. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great little grinder
I did a lot of research before purchasing a grinder and I'm glad I took the time to narrow it down to this one.It has done a great job at a consistant grind, with minimal noise, and tons of grind settings.Quality.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quiet and smooth
I bought this to replace my very noisy and not-very-consistent blade grinder. So far it's been quiet and gives great and consistent grinding. My favorite feature is the smooth wheel for choosing amounts to grind. I like the fact I can choose 3.83 cups' worth of grinds, rather than three or four. I hope this burr grinder will last a long time! The only thing I would change is the plastic grinds container. A glass container would not be so static-y. Other than that, I'm very pleased with my choice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good little grinder
Years ago used a standard spinning blade grinder for my coffee. Though it was better than pre-ground, eventually decided the gain was minor and it was not worth the hassle.Have not wanted to spend $200 for the top-line burr grinders, but saw some good reviews of the La Pavoni.I've had it for about a month now; my wife and I are very pleased. Some reviews I've seen talk about it spattering coffee ground dust in the area - have had no problems like that. The coffee is noticeably better and fresher tasting and the grinder is very convenient to use.Don't have to stand there and hold the lid down and try to guess when it has been ground to the right consistency.Just set the number of cups you want ground, put the beans in the hopper, turn it on and walk away. And the burr grinding does seem to improve flavor more than the old blade grinder did (and even more of an improvement compared to pre-ground. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the expense or the hype
I bought the first model of this grinder in 2003.And then KitchenAid sent me the revised version under warranty. But it still has an inherent design flaw that does not allow beans (especially dark roasted/oily beans) to feed from the upper hopper into the grinder. So if you want any coffee you have to stand there and poke at the beans with a chopstick. This grinder is definitely heavy. It is cast in beautiful powder coated steel. The upper hopper is made of thick, solid glass.Static control on the lower glass grounds jar is good. The grinder settings are not fine enough.Even when you clean this model properly (which is tricky and messy) you still do not get consistent grind sizes.I have found it diffcult to get a decent espresso grind out of it.When you do it is not consistent. In the end I gave this KitchenAid the old college try but I'm not happy with it and will be seeking an alternative.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well-Designed and Quiet
This grinder has the typical KitchenAid Pro-line "made like a battleship" heft.Unfortunately, some of the other Pro-Line products have serious design flaws that annoy well after the thrill of the initial "this thing is so heavy, it will last forever" impulse.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best coffee grinder
This grinder is proving to be the quietest and toughest yet. Ask me again in two months, though; that seems to be when mine usually die. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars VERY Disappointed!!!
I have been grinding my own coffee beans every morning for many years and have gone through quite a few different grinders.I have always lovedCuisinart products and was very excited to purchase this one, what a mistake! The grinder itself is really noisy and heavy for it's size. The coffee grinds are never fine enough for my liking and they get stuck up inside the plastic top, making a huge mess and wasting a lot of coffee.
1-0 out of 5 stars Love Cuisinart, but stay away from this one
I have Cuisinart all over my kitchen--love the design and quality.
2-0 out of 5 stars Grounds for Disappointment
I was excited to upgrade to this coffee grinder after years of using a cheap Krups model, and I have to say that I am very disappointed with the way this machine grinds coffee. It takes way too long to grind, whether pulsing or grinding continuously. And then the grounds are very uneven. Although the manufacturer says it is grinding slowly to keep the flavor in, every coffee expert I've consulted with says the longer coffee grinds, the more it heats up and the more flavor is lost. Even after long grinding, there are large pieces of bean still visible. I was also excited about the machine's detachable bowl, which does make for easy cleaning. But only of the bowl. The rest of the machine is a pain to clean and no matter how carefully you remove the top, your counter is covered in grounds. I bought a second bowl so that I could grind spices in the same machine, and I think the coffee grinder works better on spices and seeds (such as flax) than it does on coffee. But you still have to clean the entire thing before reusing it, or your spices have a strong coffee flavor from the grounds that are stuck to the protective case. (That plastic case does make grinding quieter, however.) All in all I'm quite disappointed with this purchase. I should have gone farther upscale and gotten a more serious burn grinder, or stuck with my cheap Krups with the slanted bowl base which made even grounds quickly. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good grinder
Good choice in a grinder. The burr grinder really does a better job than the blade type, and this particular one is relatively quiet. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because the on-off switch was defective on the first one I got and I had to exchange it.

4-0 out of 5 stars It depends how you make your coffee...
This grinder seems well made, and I agree with the positive comments of other reviewers, but if you're making drip or press coffee it may not suit you.The coarsest grind is ok for my cone-filter drip machine, but just.At the coarsest setting the least you can grind is 5-6 Tbsp - fine for a small pot but too much for a small press. That said, for espresso and larger quantities, it's teriffic! The small degrees of adjustment allow you to find the perfect grind.

3-0 out of 5 stars For fresh coffee use a burr grinder
I got this grinder to use with a Bodium press I got at Amazon. I would like the grind to be a bit more course but it still works with the press. Perhaps this is because I only set the grinder for 3 cups for a 12 cup press. Any more coffee is just too strong. I guess my wife and I are just typical Americans. The grinder is not too noisy. There are times that I have to shake it to get the beans to start going again but to me this is not a big deal. The grind is consistent and the timer accurate.

i didn't know what to expect from at coffee grinder at $9.99.this is my first coffee grinder.i bought it at my local PX, it was the only one they sold so i figured i'd give it a shot.
5-0 out of 5 stars A pretty reliable machine for its price
I have been using this coffee mill which belongs to my friend since 2002. I purchased my own just a few days ago. I am very satisfied with it. I use it to grind coffee beens everyday. Each time, it produces wonderful result. Of course, it can not be cleaned with water. Actually, you should not clean it that way. Instead, you can wipe it clean with a dry paper towel. As long as you do not abuse it, it can last a long time. I recommand this machine to everyone who wants a coffee grinder but not too fuss on a superb quality which only a few very expensive models can deliver.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome machine
This is great.I use it to grind flax seed.It works well and is fairly easy to clean. The cord winds up into itself, which is very nice, to keep it out of the way when storing it. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Machine
Bought this to use with my rancilio. It seems to have made a huge difference.I thought there was something wrong with the espresso maker as my espresso was always flat and thin tasting.Freshly ground beans is the way to go - vast improvement over preground espresso (illy's or lavazza).I would have given it 4.5 stars, the only thing holdng it back is the silly doser.Either I'm not using it right, or its just not well designed, But everything else makes this a worthwhile purchase to those coffee freaks who can afford it.I used the free shipping and $25 off deal - thanks Threefires!

4-0 out of 5 stars Works for me!
Its amazingly quiet considering whats happening to those poor little beans...It gives me just the grade of grind I need for my espresso machine to get a perfect shot...but it gets a 4 rather than 5 because there were no anti-skid pads on the base (I think they may have been missing...or maybe they just don't provide them even though there is a place for them...

4-0 out of 5 stars Makes a huge difference, some features confusingly lacking.
I got this to accompany my Gaggia 35005 Carezza, because had been having inconsistent results with blade grinders, and store bought pre-ground wasn't doing it for me. This thing makes a *huge* difference, it's incredible. For that particular espresso machine, I found that a grind setting of 9 works great.

Editorial Review

A smart-looking little unit, this Cuisinart coffee grinder lets you make the freshest possible coffee by grinding whole beans right before you brew. The grinder’s stainless-steel blade assembly is durable and effective, and the hopper holds 2-1/2 ounces of beans. Operation is a simple one-touch step, and fresh grounds are easy to empty into a filter or brew basket. Cleanup is quick because the lid rinses off, while the bowl and blade all wipe clean. Due to its size, this grinder is not the best fit for those who make huge pots of coffee or drink it all day long. It is suitable, however, for singles, couples, and light coffee drinkers. Measuring 4-1/4 by 3-1/2 by 7 inches, the unit includes tidy, out-of-sight cord storage and carries an 18-month warranty. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great coffee!
This is the first coffee grinder that I have ever purchased and I am extremely pleased. That being said I have to say that I find it a speedy little unit that is easy to clean and makes just the noise you would expect! I also have to say that I purchase high quality coffee and I make full pots of strong coffee without having to grind a second run of beans...

3-0 out of 5 stars Little Red Magician, but my beef is with Amazon...
This little red kitchen buddy is a whiz with the coffee beans, and looks stellar next to the Cuisinart 12-cup CoffeeMaker. My main beef is with Amazon, who, a week after my purchase, lowered the price another $3 bucks. Oh well! Sunny cheery RED and great coffee sure are an eye opener, any day of the week! I haven't had any problems with this grinder, but have only had it a short time. To be fair about Amazon... I love their choices, and I've had a specially fun time with creating my Red Kitchen! Amazon has a very good Red selection! Now if Frigidaire would only come back out with their Poppy Red appliances (1970s or early 80s)... I left my Fridge and stove in the house I sold in New Mexico in 1985, and sorely regret I did!

1-0 out of 5 stars Grinds beautifully, but the switch often jams
Though this grinder does a nice job grinding my coffee beans, the switch mechanism has little margin for error. About once a week, when I try to operate the grinder, the switch will not engage and the grinder will not operate. Only after I empty the beans out and give the machine a good shake will the lid finally go on tightly and the switch will engage. I am not particularly messy. This should not happen with a 3 month old coffee grinder.Read more

Editorial Review

With 14 grind settings and a precision milling system, this electriccoffee mill grinds coffee beans to any fineness without overheating them andspoiling their full flavor and aroma. Two ranges of grind settings are marked:one for fine grinds suitable for espresso and Turkish-style coffee, and theother for coarser grinds suitable for drip machines, French presses, andpercolators. Selecting a grind requires only a twist of the ring under thecoffee-bean container, which holds 8 ounces of beans and can be removed forcleaning. The ground-coffee container is permanently attached for convenienceand has a rounded bottom to facilitate scooping. There's a timer dial calibratedby the number of cups desired, so the grinder uses only the amount of beansimmediately needed. A measuring spoon (for 1 cup coffee) is included. The millhas cord storage underneath and carries a one-year warranty against defects.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Grinds too coarse; overly "safe"; nice styling
The main problem with this grinder is that if you want a fine grind for espresso or drip, it does not grind finely enough.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent coffee espresso mill
A very nice and useful mill. Makes good fine espresso coffee powder that can also be used in traditional filters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Design plus Quality
I have now used this coffee grinder daily for more than a year without interruption. It is a clean, simple design which produces perfect results. I have a Bosch Porsche design coffeemaker, and the tandem is excellent. I am a coffee addict and I would recommend both products, although the coffeemaker is certainly overpriced.By contrast, the grinder is and has proved to be a bargain. I researched this thing thoroughly before buying. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor design- not worth it
I thought that this was a great price to pay for a burr grinder. However, a key feature of the grinder malfuctioned and broke within 3 months of purchase. The bin that the ground coffee goes into must be engaged, locked in, to a little tab in the base of the grinder. Within no time at all we had a hard time getting the tab to stay put. Within 3 months we were holding it in place during the entire grinding. We tried cleaning it, but that didn't work. It is a real shame, because the grinder itself works great.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mr. Coffee Burr Grinder
I haven't gotten a chance to use my new burr grinder, but it looks to be good quality and the price was very reasonable compared to other burr grinders.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This Junk
Like others, I bought this and after 6 months it died. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Consistent results.
First thing - We're not coffee snobs...
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for French Press - Never a Problem!
I've had this grinder for over two years and use it mainly for french press.I have never had a single problem using it.Never a clog, a squeak, nothing.I don't find it hard to clean either. In fact, I hardly ever clean it since it sweeps the coffee out of the chamber when the motor turns. That is, the burr attached to the motor has small blades on the side of it that sweep the coffee out of the chamber as the motor turns.Unless you're grinding some kind of syrup-laden coffee, I don't find maintenance much of an issue. In any case, I use a pastry brush to clean off the removeable burr and sweep out the chamber, which seems to do the trick. For the most part, it doesn't get dirty enough to warrant anything other than a few taps to shake out any loose grinds after you do a grind.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good grinder
Grind settings are superb.I originally had a Mr. Coffee blade grinder and was frustrated with the inconsistent results.I bought a "Burr" grinder at Costco and was disappointed with the grinds being too coarse for a cappuccino maker. So I returned that one and after reading some reviews, I purchased this one and love it.No regrets. ... Read more
