Great idea, flawed design
I have owned this press pot for almost two years.I use it daily to make coffe at my desk at work. I compared this press to the 2 other traditional press pots I have at home.To start off, the quality and construction of this pot is quite good.The glass is thick and sturdy.The rubber gasket that seals around the filter does its job well and keeps the grounds in place.

French press thermos
This product is not what you would hope for.It is made out of the type of plastic that chips.The glass and metal products often seen are much better.The capacity of the thermos is much too small and the price is too high for the quality of the product. It's Plastic!
I'm sending it back immediately. No where in the description of the product did it say it was plastic, and I don't feel I should be charged for return postage.

a big mistake
i tried this thermal coffee press - delighted to see it was 1/2 the price of other thermal coffee presses - but in this instant you get what you pay for 1) the coffee doesn't stay as hot as a regular thermos 2) when you press the grains down to the bottom they leak back up into the thermos and your last cup of coffee looks and taste like mud 3) its these times that you wish you bought the item in the store because now i have to pack it back in its box and send it back! ... Some people are way too miserable to be tea drinkers!

Works great for me
I think this product is very well designed, it's simple and it works.On some of my cheaper teas "not all the leaves are whole" I was frustrated at how the little slits did get clogged with tea leaves.But I found that it was easy enough to clean with a business card, by running it through the slits.
Hard to clean
I picked this up recently and tried several varieties of loose tea in it.The bottom line is that tea does get stuck in the one that I own.I have tried a couple of methods to get the tea out to no avail.It might be hard to see from the picture, but the "holes" for the water are actually slits in the bottom around the bottom rim of the infuser.The slits are actually sickle shaped and the tea gets caught in the narrow areas.I imaging that differences in the cuts would either make or break this product.In my case they make me want to break it. ... Bodum’s Brazil press utilizes unbreakable polycarbonate for its carafe, which makes this model an excellent choice for campers, students, or travelers who like to make fine coffee on the road. The press method is considered by many aficionados to be the best way to make a perfect cup of coffee, since no paper filter absorbs and removes the essence of the flavor. To make coffee with the press, remove the plunger/top ensemble, add coarse ground coffee to the glass carafe, add hot (but not boiling) water, stir with a spoon, and position the top and plunger in place. Allow the coffee to brew for about four minutes before slowing pushing down on the plunger. Pushing too hard or too quickly may cause hot liquid to squirt out. Kind of a waste...
The strainer on this thing is too big or something. The rubber ran along the sides too hard and it actually tore after about 10 uses. This means "floaters". Bad form. I'm crazy about coffe made with a press, just not this one. Its cheap for a reason. May be good for camping, like they said. Not for everyday, though.

Brews very good coffee.However, don't be deluded by their false advertising that it will actually make eight cups.When you receive it you find that the manufacturer has unilaterally redefined a cup as four onces.Then it won't even make that much.Expect less than three and a half honest cups.Still, would I buy another one?Probably.
