I am in tea heaven
I use my coffee press for loose tea and I love it.I make tea with this press at least once a day.It is also great for coffee and is nice to have on hand for when my father visits and wants his one cup.When I buy my coffee I tell the coffee expert at my local market that it is for a french press so that he will give me a coarse grind.But the tea is where this product really shines.It has a strainer at the pouring lip so that I'm drinking tea and not spitting leaves.It brews the perfect mug in less than 5 minutes and because it is clear glass I can easily moniter how dark my tea will be.I have been using my press for nearly 5 months now and will be ordering more for when I entertain.Hand washing is very easy and the used leaves go easily down the garbage desposil. ... Not So Hot Pot
All one has to do is have coffee made by a coffee press once to see how superior the brew made by this method is compared to any brewing method using a filter.I wanted a ceramic coffee press because my glass one chipped at the spout and I thought ceramic would be sturdier.However, the plunger does not fit the inside of the press well enough to keep the grounds from getting into the coffee.I even tried the plunger from my glass press and had no better luck.So I am back to the chipped coffee press and will just have to be careful washing it. ... This is a fabulous thing! Much quicker than the drip-cone method, (very little active time) makes a really good cup of coffee, and it's more forgiving as far as grind goes (with the french press, if I don't get the grind exactly right, I get disappointing coffee). Easy to clean and yes, comes in many colors!

Art Deco coffee...and tea
We used another style of Bodum French press, and opted for this one instead just a month or so ago. We love the Art Deco design...reminds us of the French doors in Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot's (David Suchet) flat. (Just an art deco sidenote: See those doors in DVD "Hercule Poirot's Christmas" with David Suchet--wonderful doors, wonderful show, and not too Xmasy!) The pushdown handle is nice & flat so it doesn't gouge into the palm of your hand as the other Bodum model did with its rounded top. It seems to be a smoother push than the other model. We use it not only for premium ground coffees but also for brewing looseleaf tea. Everything tastes better in glass. Sophisticated product, replacement glass available, recommended for the good life.

Elegant and brilliant--but with a design flaw
Once you have coffee from a "french press" you'll never go back to a drip machine again. The flavor is so rich, so intense, so good that you'll think you're drinking hot chocolate. Of course, there are drawbacks too: unlike a drip machine, a french press doesn't keep the coffee warm for hours (you should only drink fresh coffee anyway) and it's harder to clean. Also, there's no point using a french press unless you use top grade (read, expensive) coffee beans and grind them yourself (...). As for this model specifically, it's gorgeous. If you love good clean modern mid-century design this is the only Bodum model for you. One warning: there is a serious design flaw to the Eileen model and it's the little round rubber piece that you press down to plunge the coffee. After about six months of daily use, it wears thin and a metal screw will break right through the rubber and into the palm of your hand. Ouch!...

Donate, give away, or throw away your electric coffee maker.
Using this french press yields an outstanding cup of coffee! Efficient to use, quick and easy clean up, very little extra time or effort from making your morning brew with a drip type maker.This unit is well made, durable and fashionable. Consider purchasing this if you grind your own beans and like strong coffee that is of consistant and high quality.Unless you have or are going to purchase a quality coffee mill, don't buy this or any other french press...you'll likely be disappointed at the results. Sturdy and functional
Unlike 1 cup (mug) french presses, this coffee maker will last.Tired of replacing my single french presses, I decided to try this product.I liked it so much, I now own three.One at work, home, and one permanently in my suitcase.You don't get all the coffee oil like you would with a french press (some is caught while draining through the ground), but the cup of coffee is well superior to drip.I've never had coffee grounds in my cup with this unit. ... Great coffee for a good value.
I bought this set in a local coffeeshop for the same price--my frother looks slightly different than pictured here and on the box, if that bothers you (the frothing part is metal wire).
Great French press, with extras
Bodum makes great French press coffee makers. Be aware that this model has a plastic frame, they make more elegant models with chrome frames. Otherwise, the construction and performance are the same (basically, the same glass carafe, and filter mechanism). The addition of the cups is nice, and the stirrers are excellent for mixing the hot water and grounds prior to steeping. There are better battery (and rechargeable) milk frothers for < $30; I have a BonJour Primo Latte, which does an excellent job and has it spiffy stand. But getting a bonus frother if you don't have one already (or could use one at the office!) is nothing to sniff about.
Some of the best coffee you'll ever drink!
My husband is the main coffee drinker in the house, so I bought him this set as a gift.We ground up some coffee beans and made some of the best coffee I've ever had!The flavor from the press truly is much different than from a drip coffee maker, and much better!It does leave some residue at the bottom of the cup, though, and is very strong.
