A perfect gift for new homemakers, the food processor has become an integral part of modern cooking, speeding up a multitude of processes, including kneading dough, slicing, chopping, shredding cheese, vegetables and meat, mincing garlic and parsley, mixing batters, and emulsifying mayonnaise. This processor comes with a compact cover for use when the feed tube isn't needed and a pulse control that allows the desired degree of fineness when chopping and puréeing. Remove the detachable stem for compact storage of discs. All the parts are dishwasher-safe and the motor base wipes clean. In addition, a custom-contoured spatula, a 50-page recipe booklet, and a 30-minute video designed to familiarize the new owner with the care and use of the food processor are included. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Cusinart, good quality
This is my second DLC-10.The only reason for replacement is because the bowl cracked and it became cost effective to just make a machine rerplacement.I have all the disks and such and like the machine very much as I have had it for 20 years.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW
I have been using a Hamilton Beach processor for the past few years because it was a gift and I didn't want to spend the money to buy my own. Am I glad I did! There's a reason everyone uses the word Cuisinart when referring to a food processor. No one else should even try to produce one. In the case of this food processor, it comes down to that old saying: "you get what you pay for." You have to spend a little more money but you get a lot more product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Size & Price
Didn't want a huge food processor at a huge price and this one is just right.Love the accessories that are included.Runs smoothly and quietly and is easy to use and clean.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast, Easy, Very Good Buy! Works Great!Safety Features Not a Problem.
I bought this for my mother-in-law to use to make meals for her mother who is 90 years old and can no longer wear dentures. It is amazing!"Grandmother" can now eat regular foods just like us.I've pureed everything from hotdogs, to vegetables, to meats, to french fries for her and she really enjoys the food!I've also used it to make homemade whipped cream, cucumber veggie chips (for my dehydrator), banana nut bread, salads, coleslaw, and cheese dip for the rest of us.It shreds a block of cheese in about 30 seconds. The first time I tried to use the machine, it did not work and only by looking at the instructions again, did I realize it was because I had the bowl on backwards.Once I put it on the correct way, it worked fine.I'm happy about the safety features because I had to get stitches a few years ago after cutting my fingers on a handheld blender because I was tired and not paying attention.I like knowing that the cuisinart will not start if I have assembled it incorrectly.Unlike one of the other reviewers, I haven't experienced a "wait time" to use the Cuisinart if I have assembled it incorrectly and have to reassemble it.There is also no worrying about lining anything up correctly. You just have to make sure you have the bowl on with the handle facing the push buttons because otherwise the push top cannot lock in.This is very easy and within a few uses you will immediately recognize which way to assemble the cuisinart. Like the other reviewers said, Keep it out on your kitchen counter and you will use it more often. Cleanup is pretty easy. I've washed it in the dishwasher with no problems. The 14 cup size is perfect for a family of 4 or more, and really even if you are only cooking for 2, this is still a great machine.I like cooking extra food so I have leftovers for later.Fast and Easy! I'm very happy I decided to spend the money.I highly recommend this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Oddly enough.......
I'm a professional chef, but I've made do for years with a Black and Decker food processor at home, while using the far sturdier Cuisinart or Robocoup at work. Maybe it wasn't a big deal because I work pretty fast with a knife so I really don't use any food processor very much, but I finally took the plunge and went first class, the Cuisinart. The B&D worked great, and at <$40 bucks 10 years ago, I've gotten more than my money's worth and still felt it had enough life to pass it along to a friend, but just looking at the stainless steel Cuisinart sitting on my counter makes me happy. If it is anywhere near the equal of the model I have at the restaurant, it will last forever, and look good too! ... Read more

With its 7-cup work bowl, 600 watts of power, and slicing and shredding discs, this food processor is ideal for most households. It kneads 1-1/2 pounds of bread or pastry dough, chops 1 pound of meat, emulsifies a perfect mayonnaise or salad dressing, and chops, slices, or shreds vegetables, nuts, cheese, and bread crumbs. The plastic work bowl is shatterproof and resists both heat and cold. A single fingertip control turns the processor on and off and pulses for precise work. All parts go safely into the dishwasher. With work bowl in place, the processor measures 7 by 12-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches. It carries a five-year warranty against motor defects and a three-year warranty against other defects. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Now I'm a Believer
When my girlfriend recieved this for her birthday (she's a long time believer in the Cuisinart) I knew it would be an upgrade from my modest hand me down food processor, but I was blown away.First off it weighs a ton, which really means something with motors. The weight was put to good use, as it effortlessly mowed through food, and it did so with a delicacy that makes food so enjoyable (I ate enough pulverized crap as an infant, so I appreciate foods with texture, and the sharp blades make sure things stay the way they should).I never thought the difference between a regular food processor and a Cuisinart would be so dramatic, but it is.The 7 cup capacity is easily sufficient for a couple adults (I imagine you could throw in a few kids for good measure), and the included blades tend to most uses.It can allegedly do a good job mixing cakes and kneading dough, and based on its overall performance, I believe it, but I'd rather use my Kitchenaid mixer for that.

5-0 out of 5 stars ...replaced the mixer, blender, grater, and other food processor I owned...
I love this product.Since I got this product I would have to say I have used it more than I have ever used any small appliance. It is a mixer, grater, grinder, blender, and food processor in one.I absolutely love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best food processor out there
I've been a Kitchen Aid customer for 12 years.I own at 12 year Kitchen Aid foor processor, and recently rec'd this one for a housewarming gift.Kitchen Aid is one of the few companies out there making a quality product. In the 12 years that I've owned my food processor, never had any maintenance on it, nothing has ever broken, and it is used at least once a week.I would still be using it if we hadn't received a new one. My new one is gorgeous! It makes quick work of chopping, grating, even mixing from time to time.Definately a worthwhile investment and great product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Built like a tank
This is a heavy duty processor with an industrial strength motor. It slices, it dices, it chops. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. The unit is well made.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent unit, great price
After reading Amazon reviews (and other online reviews) I selected this unit. I work in a small professional kitchen and needed a good quality processor without the upper price tag that a Cuisinart/Robot Coupe would have.

The Cuisinart Mini-Prep food processor stands 8 inches tall and just over 4 inches wide, but don't let the size fool you. The base houses a motor so powerful that you need to stabilize it with one hand when using the high setting to whip up a strawberry-banana smoothie for one in less than a minute. The clear plastic prep bowl locks into place with a simple twist, while the blades can be set sharp side up for chopping onions or grating Parmesan cheese, or turned blunt side up for making walnut pesto or whipping up chocolate frosting. The set includes a spatula and a cleaning brush to remove coffee grounds.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Does most of the jobs of a larger unit except for slicing
If you mainly use a food processor, or WANT to use a food processor for blending, chopping and pureeing foods, the Mini-Prep is such a good idea. It does about 80 percent of what a large food processor does, and it's easier to clean and takes up less space.
5-0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done
This little thing is awesome! I have had mine for 2 years and it never fails me. If you want to chop things like peppers, onion, garlic...or make a small batch of homemade salsa, this gadget is the one to do the job. I have the large food processor I use for the big jobs, but 9 times out of 10, this is all I need. It works great for combining spices to use as rubs on your poultry, beef, etc. Anything to save a little time in the kitchen. Great performance!

4-0 out of 5 stars It gets the small jobs done
I've owned this particular model for over a year and it gets the small jobs done. grating baby carrots, chopping onions and garlic, making salad dressing etc. However, in the past month I could smell the motor and knew it was time to upgrade.I bought the mini Prep Plus (um....and the 14 cup Cuisinart, the holy grail I must say but that will be another review)The Mini prep Plus is WAY better than this regular Mini-prep model and i highly recommend that over this. The mini Prep Plus has what feels like a stronger motor and a visibly better blade. It also appears to have a wider bowl although they both say 3 cup. I still have my mini Prep and compared them side by side and the bowls are the same height but the Plus is wider with a much better blade. It has cut my usual procesing time in 1/2 and I have not problem with bell peppers and other "tough" vgetables like I did before. If you are going to buy one, get the Mini Prep "plus" model and save yourself some time.If you are REALLY going to go for it, get the 14 cup model. I swear that machine does it all and will probably drive me to work tomorrow too! ... Read more

This simple unit provides safe, convenient, and attractive countertop storage for three Cuisinart blades and three cutting disks. It's designed to be used as stand-alone storage or side by side with Cuisinart's supplemental disk holder. The effective tamper-resistant locking device must be pulled out and twisted 90 degrees to access the cutting tools, and it automatically relocks when the lid is closed. Blades cannot be accessed via the open bottom, and disks can only be removed through the locking top. Moreover, when all three storage slots are occupied, the cutting edges of each disk are completely protected. Each blade holder is shaped to snugly fit its designated blade. High-impact plastic and external surfaces are smooth and curved to facilitate cleaning. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Worthlessto the Nth!
Any serious Cuisinart owner/dailer user with their fine array of multiple blades needs a serious storage/accessible medium for those blades. NOT a counter-top "display" item! Cuisinart offered and I have two, pricey stands/racks, with no lids or protection yet they calculated the number of discs per rack wrong. Cuisinart should come up with a secure disc-holder to smartly accomodate ALL discs/blades for a given model and which - if it becomes dirty, wouldn't mind a trip through the dishwasher!

2-0 out of 5 stars Lock problem
Had to return the first one because of a lock malfunction (it locked but would not unlock).Amazon was great about responding immediately and replacing it promptly. However, the lock on the second one does not work properly, either (it doesn't lock), though I will keep it, since keeping little hands safe is not an issue in my home. This item is a good way of storing blades and disks, but unless Cuisinart comes up with a more reliable locking mechanism, don't count on it to protect small hands from getting into it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Shoulda Bought it a long time ago
This is a super convenient item. I don't lock it so messing with the lock is not an issue. The lock could probably be a little more user friendly. It stores everything just great. It keeps the dust off of my Cuisinart goodies. I have another three-blade disc holder too. That one came with my Cuisinart. Thisone is a must-have. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good product, Good Value
This is a significant improvement over the 750 model. The 750 model was not very well designed. The first one we purchased broke within 3 days because the blade came up and hit the plastic. We returned this. We got the 760 to replace that. The 760 has been redesigned to avoid this problem. For the same price as the 750, the 760 comes with one extra bowl, juicer and egg whisk. 5-0 out of 5 stars Proctor Silex Food Chopper
My second one.Perfect for that small chopping job.Makes chicken salad, turkey salad, egg salad, ham salad, shrimp salad and tuna salad sandwiches tast better being ground up finer than cutting with a knife.

5-0 out of 5 stars a very convenient food processor
I got this food processor in order to make pesto sauce.I'm sure it will work will salsa and bruschetta, as well. It's the perfect size, dishwasher safe (blade, cup, and lid), and it chops very cleanly. It's so easy to use and store since it's so small. For making just a little bit of pesto, maybe just a quarter cup, it would really be annoying to have to take out and clean a larger food processor. But this food chopper is the perfect size for such a small amount...or anything up to 1 cup, 1 1/2 cups really.I'm really glad I bought this...and it was just the right price. No need to get a larger, clumsy, and more expensive larger food processor that won't get used as often.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
It's fast to use. I can chop half an onion (or more if I wanted), which is exactly what I need for one day.I can mix fruits and yogurt for a dessert for me. I used to use it to pure food for my baby.

This little 250-watt workhorse comes in handy when a full-size foodprocessor is unnecessary. The 3-cup work bowl is just right for making pesto ora salad dressing, and two receptacles in the lid have pinholes for one or twooils to stream into the bowl while the processor is blending a perfect emulsion. It's also ideal for chopping and grinding. Pressing the "chop" button deploysthe sharp edge of Cuisinart's patented reversible blade to chop onions, herbs,or bread crumbs. Pressing the "grind" button whirls the blade in the otherdirection so its blunt side can grind nuts, coffee beans, or cheese. Compact atjust 9 inches high and lightweight (it has a plastic body), the Mini Prep Pluscan be tucked away in a cabinet, and the little spatula accompanying it goesinto a drawer. It carries an 18-month warranty against defects. The plastic workbowl and lid are dishwasher-safe, but the stainless-steel blade should be handwashed to protect its edges. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this handy chopper!!!
I received my new Cuisinart DLC-2ABC Mini Prep Plus a couple of days ago.I was so excited to place this stylish little chopper on my countertop.I looks too nice to place away in a cabinet, besides I bought it for the convenience factor. My last mini chopper was so ordinary that I kept it hidden away; therefore, I would only drag it out on rare occasions. This stylish new addition to my gourmet kitchen countertop is such a jewel to have!!!I used my new Cuisinart last night for the first time to chop an onion ... whoah, what power!I've used other choppers where I had to constantly stop the process in order to toss around whatever I was chopping to have it evenly chopped. Not so with this powerful baby!It chops powerfully and evenly. The grind option is perfect in aiding the process.Additionally, the size of the 3 cup bowl is a wonderful companion to my 11 cup processor ... for those smaller tasks. My old chopper was a 1 cup capacity & in my opinion was just too small. It's easy to clean and is just waiting on it's next project ... hmmmm, what can I use it for next???

4-0 out of 5 stars A time for every seasoning......,
A time for every seasoning......and a utensil for every purpose. The Cuisinart Mini Prep does not serve well as a primary processor for heavy jobs. That was not its intended design, or function. It is not a parmesan cheese grater nor does it compete with a sharp French knife for uniformly chopping onions.
4-0 out of 5 stars Right tool for the job it was designed for
When I first bought this, I thought this was a 'mini' version of the big brother.(Now I own power prep 11 plus, as well as the belnder from cuisinart). And this is where most of the angry customers come from.If you want to 'slice', this thing isn't it.Nor is it for grinding coffee beans or anything heavy like that.In fact, I own a grinder for that exact purpose. But as one equipment review show stated (America's test *******), it's better to use the knife then any of these units or even gadgets for chopping/mincing.And they recommend coffee grandinger for grinding and I have to agree.I just never found better way to mince then a my favorite Wustof classic chef knife.Even with the dish washer, it takes too long to clean (for daily use when I run a dish washer 2x a week), and it just isn't as fine and even as a good knife.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Processor
I am delighted with the processor. I like that the blades and attachments all fit within the bowl when not in use. While it does not come with all the specialty blades the more expensive processors offer, it has everything I routinely use. It is exactly what I need and you can't beat the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great machine for a super price
The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Food Processor is wonderful. We are raw foodists and use this machine at least twice a day. It is easy to use, pretty quiet, doesn't walk all over the counter because of suction cup feet, easy to clean. The large mouth makes it so easy to just about anything in the processor, too.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome transaction
This is one of the best purchases I have made in the last couple of months (distributor and product wise). I would definently recommend the distributor to friends. Thanks. ... Read more

I really like the way that this food processor performs. I thought when I took it out of the box that it would be a little difficult to work but it turns out that it is very easy to use.

Editorial Review

The Little Pro Plus is an absolutely necessary all-in-one kitchen tool. It chops, dices, shreds, grates, purées, and even kneads dough. Add the super citrus juicer and one of the three juicing cones and there's an automatic at-home juice bar. The base measures only 6 by 8-1/2 inches, so it fits cozily on the counter and is easy to store. Included is a comprehensive booklet detailing the many different ways of using the Little Pro Plus and dozens of recipes (try a homemade hummus). It even has pictures of how to assemble and use for those of us who are visual learners. Read more

• An entry-level food processor that is far from basic, Little Pro Plus is a virtually indispensable tool for kitchen practicality and creativity
• Uses a direct-drive motor for precise torque that enables rapid and consistent processing

5-0 out of 5 stars I love my Little Pro
I've had it for almost 20 years and it's great! It's never broken once in all that time, the blades are still sharp and I use it a lot!Perfect for when we first got married and doesn't take up much space and it;a pretty light to move around. Now, I can use the larger version, but this one is great for most jobs, like making dips or guacamole, or whipping cream, you name it.A great buy and necessity in the kitchen.I have an additional workbowl for mine too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Small but powerful
When I purchased this item, I was trying to decide between this processor and the miniprep.A former roommate of mine had the miniprep, and I was a little frustrated by the fact that it frequently would overheat when preparing even something relatively simple like pesto. This item is much more powerful than the miniprep, and I have never had problems with it overheating. The ejector chute also allows it to chop larger batches of food. The only task I have put it to where I have found it less than satisfactory is in preparing pie crust. The booklet claims that it is up to the task, but I found it doesn't quite mix properly (the dough on the bottom doesn't seem to mix as well with the dough on the top). All in all, however, this item is great.

Editorial Review

Two powerful kitchen appliances have been brought together in this blender/food processor by Cuisinart. The heavy-duty motor base is up to both blending and processing tasks, and won't "walk" on the counter, even when it's crushing ice. Use the blender with its dripless pour spout to make and serve 40 ounces of frozen drinks or to purée baby foods or soups; use the processor to prep up to 3 cups of vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and meats. With one motor base, it's simple to keep the blender out on the counter and then bring out the processor attachment for special tasks.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor quality --poor support
The Duet served my wife and I well for more than a year. Then, like many others are reporting, the spindle broke on the base unit. I contacted Cuisinart, but they don't make a replacement. So we had a pitch a basically good unit but lack of this tiny replacement part.
1-0 out of 5 stars Cheap but Poor Quality
I bought this item, thinking, like others, that the Cuisineart name meant quality. The blender broke about within about 6 months, but I kept on using the food processor.Light use, I might add.Just a few days ago, the food processor broke -- the plastic food bin snapped. This has been one of the most disappointing purchases I've made.Plus, it is unbelievably LOUD.I'm in the market for a more expensive, sturdy, reliable processor. You get what you pay for.

1-0 out of 5 stars Great, until the drive gear shatters
As other reviewers, we loved this blender until it broke. It was quiet, powerful, simple to use, and looked great. The food processor was the perfect size, and very useful.

2-0 out of 5 stars Works great while it works
This product does an excellent job of chopping everything from nuts to cheese. But, after only a year and a half of light use, it quit working. The blades still spin, but it no longer is capable of chopping anything. So, unless you are fascinated by spinning blades, it is useless. Not a good life cycle for an appliance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice chopper
This cute chopper is a big help to me. It makes fast and fine chopping-up and saves a lot of time for me. It's a little bit small and contains only "pulse chopping" control. However, I found it easy and convenient to use, and is sufficient for single or couple family use.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best

5-0 out of 5 stars Whisper Quiet and powerful food processor
For years now, I have had my eye on KitchenAid products, namely their prominent stand mixers. So when the need for a GOOD food processor became a reality for me, I first looked at KitchenAid, and not much further. In comparison to other professional-styled food processor, the KitchenAid has a solid feel, the base is weighted nicely and the components fit together very well.
5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for every kitchen
After comparing the various food processors in store and online from the reviews my decision was very simple: I went with the KitchenAid over the Cuisinart. After having used it several times I am very happy with my purchase.First made a marinara and used the shredder for the carrots and that went so fast and smooth I was in disbelief. Then I reassembled it with the main blade and threw in the tomatoes, onion and garlic and everything was minced down to almost a puree status almost immediately with very little sound.A dead bang winner in my book.

5-0 out of 5 stars 11 Cup Pro is the original, classic food processor
I have owned a Pro Custum 11 for over 18 years and it still works great. Last week I used the dough recipe from "The Best Bread Ever" by Charles Van Over "Great homemade bread using your food processor." The machine worked great! I retarded the dough in the fridge for a little over a day and had artesan bread pizza crust that was terrific. I also grated a half pound of cheese in just a few seconds and avoided using my knuckle buster grater! Par boil some potatoes until a little soft, shred these with a quarter of an onion and you have wonderful hash browns in no time that are fresh instead of frozen. Etc. Etc.
5-0 out of 5 stars Cuisinart or KitchenAid?
I am the unfortunate owner of a Kitchenaid 11 cup processor (I rated the Cuisinart 5 stars, but I really do not know).Seeing all the negative comments below about the Cuisinart, I sadly have to respond that all the flaws of the Cuisinart apply equally to the KitchenAid.Despite using the KitchenAid sparingly and with care, I have broken 2 bowls (at $40 + $9 S&H each) and one lid at $20 + S&H.Although the KitchenAid motor is well made, the plastic bowls are flimsy and poorly designed. In addition the bowl leaks down the side if liquid is blended. The lid is exceedingly hard to clean.Consequently, I am thinking of replacing my KitchenAid with the Cuisinart.

1-0 out of 5 stars Another Dissapointed Cuisinart customer!
I purchased a 14-cup Cuisinart some years ago.I have had nothing but trouble.First the handle stuck while I was kneading dough and I barely was able to pry it off. Then I had problems with the stem. When I tried to get a new one from customer service they told me that they were no longer servicing my older model and suggested I buy a new Cuisinart!Stay away from Cuisinart!I'm looking into Kitchen Aid for my new processor. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great little food processor!
This machine is beautiful in red, it looks great on my counter. The machine works perfectly, when I pulse it gently pulses the items slowly and gives me a perfect chop.I used this with mushrooms and onions and celery and each item was chopped to perfection as I orchestrated the pulses. Then I took some eggs and put them in with some chopped basil and hit the on button and voila beautiful whipped eggs. This is a great machine.I have even got perfectly ground almonds and graham cracker crumbs.Buy this beautiful little jewel. It works great and makes minimum noise.

1-0 out of 5 stars So quite it doesn't work.
I gave this product one star since it was delivered on time and in the correct color. After reading all the included reading material, I carefully cleaned every piece and attempted to turn the processor on, and nothing happened. You could imagine my disappointment knowing my cheesecake might not be made that day.Immediately I called Kitchen Aid customer service who prommised to send out a new machine within 7-10 working days.It is getting close to the 10 day mark.I really wanted that cheesecake.Coming from the manufacturer I am optimistic it will arrive in working condition.
