Buy one set and never another
This is a great solution for space-restricted kitchens. One set of these pyrex dishes and you can bake or cook and go to the fridge to store. So no need to have a pile of plastic storage ware. Also, plastic stains with tomato sauce and berries. These glass dishes are stain-proof. And you can microwave them; I don't like microwaving plastic because it can melt.

Great Product - Saves Money
I've really been enjoying my food saver.I didn't really think it would save money overall but it defintely is.It keeps meat and vegetables very fresh tasting even after a significant time in the freezer.I don't have to throw away more pork chops that got lost in the bottom of the freezer and suffered significant freezer burn.I also find you can re-use the bags (from non raw meat storage) if you cut them appropriately so that's not a total waste either.Great product, helps me save money and is easy to use and pretty minimal storage size too.

Doesn't Last
I am now on my 3rd foodsaver in six or seven years. While they are working properly they are great. After about two years, they always seem to stop drawing a vaccuum. The vaccuum pump will run and run but it will not draw a vaccuum. With all the freezing my family does we will continue to keep replacing them because the quality of the vegetables is extended by well over a year. It's worth it to us to replace them every two years. I just wish Tilia would build one at reasonable price that would last about five years.

This really is just OK
I have been deciding whether to buy this for months. I bring my lunch to work every day and was already using Gladware, tupperware etc.When this finally arrived I was initiailly impressed but I noticed right away tht it's "bulky" and rather large, on the outside only.
Very effective lunch container
Unlike many reviewers for this product, I'm a dedicated bring-your-own lunch person -- I've been making my own lunches since college. I used to bring lunch in a Ziploc bag or sealed plastic container, and for a while I had a lightly-insulated soft lunch"box". Usually I didn't have trouble, but sometimes things would leak or get squashed. When I started riding my bike to work and going all over the place on public transit, I really wanted something that would never leak out of its container, and would be easy to carry in a backpack or by hand. I also needed something that would hold quite a bit of food because I tend to get hungry in the afternoon and eating work-supplied popcorn and soda is not how I want to get my calories.
Not at all what I'd hoped
Well, it turned out not to be lined with stainless steel--it just has a stainless steel exterior; the inside and all of the containers and their lids are cheapo plastic which can't be microwaved or put in the dishwasher.

Food Saver Rolls
I like to save money by buying in bulk and portioning out foods for each meal.It cuts down on defrosting time of chicken, fish, steak, hamburger, etc., by wrapping individually instead of in one big lump. My 4 yr. old Tilia Food Saver is still working fantastic at keeping freezer burn off my frozen meats and fish. I'm thinking about upgrading to a newer Tilia but just can't discard a perfectly good machine yet.

Great price for these rolls
You can't beat this price for these rolls. If you own the machine, you'll want more of the bags to seal and store, for sure. This is the best price I could find on this product.

These Are Okay, But I Like the 11" Better
The basic concept appears sound.Smaller foods need smaller width bags.However, in practice we rarely use the 8 inch width.There are a few things that fit better in the 8 inch width, but considering that almost everything that we routinely use in the kitchen will fit in the 11 inch width, we tend to use that width most of the time.
rolls vs. bags
The 8x11.5" quart bags are more convenient to use, but I figured the 8" x 22' rolls would be more cost-effective.As it turns out, the rolls (at $18.69 for 44 bags' worth - assuming a foot per use) are slightly more expensive than the bags (at $18 for 48), so you might as well get the bags.As for being able to use more or less as needed, I've found that I can re-seal or re-use the bags, thus leaving me an assortment of available sizes when I've used their previous contents.It is occasionally useful to have larger sizes, so I would recommend purchasing the bags in the quart size & the rolls in the larger 11" x 18' to give a wide range of useful applications. ... Love them, but cracking is definitely an issue!
I have been using Foodsaver canisters for just over one year now, and I own quite a few, of varying sizes.A good percentage of them have cracked over that period of time.(I hand wash the bottoms, wipe out the lids as directed, no temperature extremes, no abuse.They just crack in my pantry.)Normally, experiencing this (repeatedly) would be enough for me to swear off a product and never mess with it again, but when they're working, they work really well, and I have to say that Tilia's customer service stands behind these canisters.They have cheerfully replaced every single one that's mysteriously cracked. (I did not ask them to replace the one my husband dropped and destroyed!)Because they've given me no hassles about replacing their canisters, I have little hesitation about continuing to purchase their products.My recommendation is to keep a record somewhere of the date and place of purchase for your canisters; they'll want this information if you call for a replacement.The warranty period is one year; when they send a replacement, it's guaranteed for a year too.

I was very unhappy with this product.I ordered several cannisters and 3 out of 5 cracked after the first use!!!I did everything that they recommended and they all cracked in the same manner.The people at Foodsaver were very happy to replace them because they are under "warranty" but I am surprised to see how fragile this product is.FYI, they will not warranty the products sold on E-Bay.I should have listened to the reviews and not taken a chance on this product.

No problems for over a year
I don't know how I ever got by without a Foodsaver before.I bought mine over a year ago, along with extra canisters, and I've had no problems so far.I was surprised to see so many reviews about cracked containers - all of mine are fine, and I use them often!I only handwash them, like the directions say, so maybe that's helped prolong their life.The whole system is great; the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's so expensive (accessories too)! ... Doesn'tVacuum Seal Very Well
I recieved the FoodSaver Vaccuum Seal system as a gift along with two 11" continous roll bags.They worked great but were kind of big for some of the food that I was trying to vacuum and seal so I bought the premade package of 48 quart size bags.I have had nothing but issues with those bags since I got them.They will not vacuum and seal correctly.When I make my own bag with the continious roll material the vacuum and seal works great but not with the quart bags.Even when I have tried both types on the same night, the continious self made bag works the quart bag does not.The vacuum system works well but the quart bags do not.They look and feel like they are made from the same material.The only difference is that the quart bags are about half the width of the 11" bags and they don't stretch across the whole vacuum seal area like the 11" bags do but the manufacturer does mark-off where the optimum vacuum seal area is so you can make sure your bag covers that area and the quart bag does stretch across that area but still will not vacuum and seal.I am just going to buy the 11" roll and make my own bags.

Stain Shield Works
I have had my set for several years and haven't had any problems. The stain sheild works great especially if you microwave alot. I eat a lot of pasta with red sauce and not stains. The different sizes fit well in the new style lunch boxes. I got rid of all my old Tupperware and replaced them with Rubbermaid and Snapware products. If you have a problem with any item, you can mail it back to Rubbermaid and they will replace it.

Fast for marinating....
I have only used it a few times so far but it has always worked well. I do only hand wash it after reading previous reviews so that could be helping it stay in good shape. It seems like I never have alot of time when I am ready to grill so this product works well for time saving. It gives the meat great flavor in a short amount of time marinating.

Great concept, but canister needs to be redesigned.
I have had four of these, and three have failed.The first two developed cracks, and I suspect that the dishwasher, in which I only washed the bottom part of the marinator as advised, warped and weakened them.After buying two more, the first two having been relegated to the potting shed as seed-starters, I have handled them with kid gloves so to speak, (no dishwasher), and the seal on one fails to hold for even a few hours.So far, so good with the fourth one.Whoopee. These are not cheap items, and even if they were less costly, a 75% failure rate is quite unacceptable.If they really functioned as they should, they would be fabulous for not only marinating in short order, but storing other items as well.All the round canisters and the wide-mouth jar sealer work exceedingly well, but I'll not buy any more "marinators" until there is a successful improvement in design.

Unhygienic lid design!!
I loved this cup when I first purchased it. I'd scoured the internet and stores for a no-spill thermal cup, and thought I'd finally found the perfect one. However, after a few months of use, I noticed I could hear liquid trapped in the lid. If I shook the lid violently, I could get out some drops of the trapped liquid, but never all of it. I also noticed that the the lid would smell awful at the end of a day's use and really demanded washing immediately after use (which in my mind, defeats the purpose of the "travel" mug).

Hard to clean
The cap may seal well but the trade-off is that it's hard to clean.I noticed coffee crud building up in hard to reach areas.After cleaning it, I couldn't towel dry the inside parts andthe water almost never completely dried because no matter what angle I left it at, the water formed a little pool that wouldn't evaporate overnight.Each morning I could shake the cap and hear & see water droplets. I suppose a blast from an air compressor might have done the trick.Anyhow,I threw the mug out today after I noticed bits of something coming out of the cap.I think it is coffee scum buildup, but my wife says its rubbery (is there a hidden gasket?)I recommend looking elsewhere for a simple, easy-to-maintain, keep-my-coffee-hot thermos.It might not seal as well, but it probably won't put dried coffee remains in your favorite drink. ... "Bread box" is a term your grandmother knows, though her bread box was most likely tin. This one is plastic, but the principle is the same: To stay fresh, bread needs air--but not too much. Vents in this keeper allow proper circulation. The plastic slicing guide makes uniform slicing easy--starting at about a half-inch in thickness. The guide, however, accommodates a loaf only 5 inches wide, 1-1/4 inches narrower than the keeper accommodates. Great Product!
I never thought there would be a time when such a simple looking item could be so priceless! It's the perfect answer to fresh bread and great looks on the counter. It surely is better than having those tons of plastic bags laying around, what a mess that can be! I found a trick that works great. I let the bread cool down just enough to where it's almost cold then in it goes to the bread keeper and viola, worked perfect and fresh bread - was better than I had expected it to be and what made it better was the no fuss no mess!! When the bread keeper is empty it's a snap to clean it out with warm soapy water and let it air dry on the dish rack. I kept the box to store the container in when it's not being used, it's small enough that I can put the item in my pantry and it doesn't take up any room. I'll surely be getting another one of these for a holiday gift (or two). This was surely a great investment and well worth the price!

A bit overpriced for what it is, but a great and necessary tool!
This product is inexpensive plastic: it consists of two clear pieces in which to store a loaf of bread and a white piece that is used as a cutting/slicing guide. Pretty straightforward, and consisting of probably a dime's worth of plastic for the whole thing. It's a very useful tool for the home bread maker, as it makes for better slicing of bread in to fairly-equally sized slices than using a knife alone (and "eyeballing it"). If you have a bread machine, you need one of these. Period.

I like the bread cutter.
I make bread because I have a son who is allergic to wheat and dairy.The bread slicer allows me to slice straighter and thinner pieces of bread which is great - I get more pieces out of a loaf and they look better.It works fine but I wish the slicer was a little more sturdy.Truthfully I purchased this product for the slicer not the bread keeper.The bread keeper works O.K., I especially like it when we travel because it keeps the bread from getting crushed, but gets smaller as we use up a loaf.I don't love the air holes in the bread keeper, it is too much air for rice bread and tends to allow it to dry out too quickly, but it would probably work better for wheat bread.For the price, this was a good purchase, plus I couldn't find a better bread slicer even at a higher price. ... WORKS GREAT IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT
This jar sealer is a necessity if you have a Foodsaver!Much cheaper than using those expensive canisters and it keeps your food fresh!There's nothing better than opening a jar and hearing the whoosh of air going in!Lets you know it's fresh!For all of those reviewers who had problems with it sealing, I have a tip that should eliminate those sealing problems.When you seal the jar put TWO mason lids on top, one on top of the other.Then seal the jar.The top lid should pop right off and the bottom lid will be vacuumed tight and secure! (If the top lid doesn't come off right away, just give it a few hours and it will come loose.)Not sure why it works this way, but it does!For those jars that you seal for longer than a week I would recommend checking the seal every once and a while.I have had a jar lose it's vacuum a time a two. BUT a great majority of the time it remains sealed.Highly recommend!

I had hoped to use this with Mason jars to greatly expand my available vacuum storage for crushable/bulk items, without paying the high price for the containers. But it doesn't actually work, even when you think it does.

Jar sealer really works
I got both the regular and wide mouth jar sealers and I use them a lot. I put leftover green salad in a jar and sealed it!Not a speck of brown on any of it.Just as fresh as the day it was made!Also did the same with fresh fruit, such as apricots and sliced peaches.Just great! You must have the right jars in order for it to seal, however.They have to be the newer canning jars, which have a slight rim just below where the ring screws on.I have some older jars that have no rim, and the sealer doesn't fit snuggly on them.Also, one older qt. jar had too large a rim.This is a great way to keep food from spoiling before you can use it up!

Works well
The jar sealer works as promised.Using mason jars provides a cheaper/reusable alternative to the Foodsaver bags.The only trouble I had at first was in releasing the vacuum to open the jar, but I got the hang of it after a while -- I just had to patiently twist a spoon underneath the lid to release the seal.

Good Buy & Then Some
I have a large garden and can never eat, give away everything we have so the vaccum sealing kit has been a life saver. Our freezer is now full and we can enjoy are garden all year long.

Handy buy prone to failure
The convenience of these sized bags is great. Unfortunately, I have had to throw at least a third of them away because they won't hold a vacuum. Were it not for that fact, I would have given these five stars.

Foodsaver vs Rival Seal a Meal
These bags are super convenient and they're small enough to portion out a single serving.I bought these for my Rival Seal a Meal since I can't seem to find this pint size by Rival.I've had mixed success in using Foodsaver bags in the Seal-a-Meal, but that's not so much a product flaw.I have noticed however that the Rival bags feel thicker than the Foodsaver bags.Overall these bags are good, and they're a convenient size.

quality concerns
my butter keeper arrived. I ran it through the dishwasher, top rack, then filled it as directed and enjoyed it until it was empty. Then I put it in the dishwasher again, top rack, and took it out this am and it has a crack in it. Not a surface hairline thing but a crack I can feel, which let water in to the china, leaving a stain. This was in the top part, which I've thrown away. The bottom may come in handy as a small container.

Keeps butter soft...but it falls in the water
Maybe I'm doing something wrong by putting too much water in the bottom, but mine isn't working properly.I may see if amazon will exchange it for another.It doesn't seem to make an "air tight" seal at all.Mt butter was very soft, but it fell into the bowl of water.I really wanted to like this product.Meh.
