It blows.:)But it's great!
It's a good fan, and does exactly what I expected it to.It moves a pretty good amount of air at a moderate amount of noise.On the "Super" setting, there's no way I would call this fan quiet, but the low setting is reasonably quiet.I also like the fan's adjustable "directional" grill.It allows me to position the air where I want it.It's not what I'd call "chic" or leading-edge in terms of style, but it's not ugly either.It has a pleasing ... functional look.For the price, it's a great deal.It's worth 5 stars from a value perspective.I did have one quality problem.I bought two of these, and on one of the units, one of the fans ran at a noticably slower speed than the other (and consequently moved less air).Amazon did me right with the return, but I dropped one star for the quality problem.In the future, I'd certainly buy another.

Great window fan!
I recently bought another one to replace the same model (over 10 years). It's quiet, and you can use either exhaust or fresh air (or one of each) with two separate controls. It's convenient, put it into the window in the morning and take it down at night. You can control when it comes on (of course you'd need to put ON) - when the temps go higher, it's turned on automatically; when the temps go down, it shuts off. You can adjust the fan vents to go in any direction. A great buy, and Amazon sells it for a little cheaper than most places.

I originally owned the Holmes version of the window fan.This one dominates the other version.The temperature/comfort setting actually works.It actually turns itself on when the temperature drops.It's not *that* sensitive but at least it's not just another on/off switch like other models.

it started getting stuck during oscillation within 24 hours, pausing all the way to the left before resuming normal rotation
Powerful little fan
There isn't too much to be said about a fan.This fan is extreamly powerful for its size.If you are looking for a very gentle breeze right in front of it (2-3 feet) it will not adjust that low.But if you are looking for a very small fan that can move air around a reasonably sized room... this is a great choice.
NOISY!

Fan Stinks
I bought 2 of these fans 2 years ago. In the last week they both failed. The warranlty is use less. It costs you $12.00 to ship back and they want $ 15.oo to return it. Costs more then a new fan. What a dissapointment. Vornado sure went downhill. R.Schaeffer

Very Average
More money then its worth.Makes alot of noise, small, no oscillation.

Excellent fan at a good cost.
I've had this fan for over a week now and it's been great. Not only is it more powerful than other fans -- it is extremely strong when in its highest setting. In addition, it's quiet, easy to position and keep in position. I can't comment on the motor life as of yet, but judging by the initial performance, I think this fan should last for quite some time. A great fan at a reasonable price!

Circulates air well but sometimes makes noises
The product works fine and at first it was pretty quiet but then when we put it on at night while we're sleeping you notice it makes some clicking sounds every once in a while.Other than that it has 3 different speeds, can be used as an ionizer (but I can't tell the difference), oscillates and has a timer control.Over all I'd say it's a great product for the amount of money I paid.It's also pretty tall which is nice and has a remote control.

Great Fan
I liked the looks of this fan, read the other reviews and decided to try it. The fan is not noisy at all which is what I wanted because I watch TV in the room it is in. But I also wanted it to cool the room quickly. The ionizer is plus because it also takes care of the smells from the kitchen that carry into this room. The remote is a plus! Easy to assemble, easy to use, has a remote, is quite, and helps with odors.

Good Fan
I have never purchased a tower fan before so I have nothing to compare to, but I would say this is a good fan, not great, but good. It does move a ton of air. Maybe even too much, I don't put it on a higher speed than 1 because the 2nd and 3rd speed is very strong and blows papers and other things all around the room. The ionizer I use very little. It gives me a headache, and I have heard nothing but negaitive things about ionizers so I don't use it, but that is not why I purchased this fan anyway. The main reason I chose this fan over other tower fans was for looks. I love the wood on the front, and it looks very pleasing to the eye, unlike most fans. I think one of the worst parts of this fan, unlike previous reviews, is the noise. The fan itself makes little noise but the air it pushes around makes a lot of noise, even at low speeds. It is not something terrible, and can sometimes be relaxing, almost like the sound of a constant breeze or wind, but can sometimes get distracting/annoying Overall I would recommend this fan to anyone who wants to buy a fan with ionizer and great looks. Lasko's the Best!
I have been sleeping with a box fan in my bedroom year round for many, many years and have owned several different models but this one tops them all. I can turn up my thermostat in the summer and still stay cool and comfy, in the winter it helpscirculate the warm air in the house. I have a teenage son at home and when he has friends who sleep over they can be a bit noisy sometimes. However, with my Lasko fan turned on the number 2 setting I don't hear them and my son's bedroom is right across the hall from mine. This being said, if you are looking for a quiet fan then I suggest you buy another brand. However, if you want to lower your electric bill and block out noise then this is the one to buy. You can't go wrong with this Lesko!! I reccomend it highly!

Alot of air movement, fits nicely in the window or on a desk
My concern while purchasing this fan was air flow.Needed a substitute air conditioner for the summertime.Needed something that could create alot of air movement to suck in the cool air at night, and something that could be aimed at me could cool me off during the day, and this fan achieves that for it's lower price.Box fans are great, place then in a window and they'll cool a room down in no time.It is not a quiet fan like the ultra quiets on the market today but it is not as loud as those turbo jet fans.It has a normal good size fan noise that I don't find irritating.Other than that, you really don't need the foot attachments.I placed on the desk, turned on high and it did not fall over.So, to conclude it is a good solid fan for a reasonable price when your main concern is air flow. ... Good value for a good fan
Reliable and functions.Much less expensive than "ionic breeze" or other yuppie products one might get at the S.I. Has three fan settings and is very quiet.Doesn't stir up dust and blow it around like a traditional fan does.Only draw back is that it does not have a filter.

I purchased the fan after reading the reviews of about 10 different types ranging in price from $30 to $60 and all seemed to have an equal amount of satisfied and dissatisfied consumers so I took a gamble and went w/ the least expensive one.After about a week, I loved it so much, I bought another one for my bedroom.

Average quality for the price
The quality is average for the price paid. its a bit noizy when you keep it in high speed. Also the area it covers is very less when compared to other brands in the market. I saw other brands and they produce better air covering the entire room even without oscillation.

FANtastic
Terrific fan. It is very quite, not silent. There was a silent night but not a silent fan. The fan is, however, very very quite. It moves a lot of air even at the slowest speed. The fan looks great and the quality is obvious when you examine it carefully, or just pick it up.

I believe "Focus on Nature" simply received a bad unit. It's a royal pain in the rear, but it does happen. I never remember to turn my Hunter fan off, because it's 100% silent, even running 24/7. I'm ordering a second one now.

Good design, BAD engineering
The fan is lovely and silent. Until you click on the top to make it oscillate. Within minutes.... click click click click.... the sound of two gears stripping instead of meshing.
not quiet enough
This fan is good and looks great, but I wish there was a lower speed.The lowest speed on this fan feels and sounds like a medium level breeze to me.It would be nice to have a quieter, gentler choice.It also makes a little noise when it reaches the edge of the oscillating arc, which can be annoying.I bought it for the bedroom, but am now using it in our family room instead.

Heatless
I agree with the other reviewer - unless the positive reviewers somehow got a different heater - this heater sucks even as a fan (which is one of it's modes)
GREAT LITTLE HEATER!
I brought this heater for a bedroom that does not have storm windows on any of the 3 windows.Room temp now gets HOT and I have to turn the heater off and that is only on the lowest setting.No need to sit directly in front of it either as it heats the entire room - quickly.
Great Heat
I don't know why this heater has gotten such bad reviews.I bought two last year when they were on sale - I think $25 with free shipping - and we love them.The automatic turn on is great (it's not that hard to just set it to OFF when you leave) and the fan does a really effective job of blowing the heat toward you.It's not really effective for an open space, but it's fantastic for heating an enclosed area, like a bedroom.Our condo furnance just went on the fritz and I don't know what we'd do without these.It's one of the best space heaters I've ever used. ... I bought this for $[...] 2 years ago at Lowe's. I mainly use the table attachment. I put it in storage for about 1 year, and recently took it out of storage this Summer! The only reason that I gave it only 4 stars is that it needs oiled sometimes. Overall, it's still a great fan!

Keep the WD-40 handy
I, too, had problems with this fan. It work fine for about two weeks then stopped. I took off the protective cover, pulled off the fan blade and squirted WD-40 into the thing. Then it began working. So far, it has been working fine for about a week. If the WD-40 doesn't keep it going, then my recommendation would be one star. Caveat Emptor.

Difficult to clean but bought a second one anyway
I purchased this model to replace one I had acquired two years ago (same model). The previous one still worked, but the two grills and fan blades had become too dirty to clean properly. So my only complaint is you cannot remove the grills nor can you completely remove the back cover to get to the blades.

A Great Little Desk Fan
Apologies to those who don't like "cute" appliances, but this little fan definitely qualifies. It is barely over 5" high, and can almost hide behind a pencil holder. For its size, the cooling capacity is surprisingly good, and it even has two discernable speeds. It is all plastic and may not last forever, but while it does, and at this price, it is the perfect little desk fan.
