Lukewarm Shots - Sent it Back
I'm modifying my original review of 4 stars down to 1 star.It doesn't look like Amazon will let me change my original 4 star rating, so I'm mentioning it here.THIS IS A 1 STAR EXPERIENCE.
Yes... I love my little power baby!
When you open the box you think "That's it?" because it is very small and has that late 80's design. But then, once you've set it up and got the coffee grinding right you realize what a perfect pressure/temperature setting that little machine has and how perfect the espresso is. A very delicious way of sustaining you coffee addiction and of embarassing yourself when you lick the ever-lasting crema out of the cup. After just a few cups you will get bored by the flat "dish water", in comparison, that the commercial-grade machines at work or at starbucks produce. And from the money that you save compared to the bigger fancy-looking ones you can buy a decent coffee grinder and explore some nice coffees, not only the standard italian roast. Just beware from where you buy, that you don't get a re-conditioned one or even a damaged return (had some bad experience).

Bad Pump
While it worked, I liked it.The pump lasted less than 2 weeks.I bought it locally, and got my money back.

Great machine
I've used at least once a day for the last two years (at least) and have been very pleased with it.Sadly, I think it's getting old, and time for a new one.But I will buy the same thing again.

I have seen alot of negative reviews regarding this appliance, however; I purchased one about a year ago and absolutely love it! The 2 liter tank is the bomb - no more running out of water for steam. There is nothing worse than running out of water in those tiny tanks on other machines. By the time you correct that issue the espresso has gone cold! I crank out some high volume for all my neighbors on the weekends (several lattes) and have never had a single problem with this machine. This machine is built for high volume. I liked it so much I purchased one for my brother. I am also about to get one for a wedding gift for my neighbor. I wouldn't use anything else...especially a Krups! Had two different Krups machines and both fell apart in less than 6 months! ... Read more

Please trust me, although I may not be an EXPERT on coffee, I know ALOT about espresso.I have worked in the coffee business for over 5 years. I have tasted the good, the bad, and the ugly. I drink espresso and espresso drinks regularly.Through my years of drinking espresso I beleive there are two things essential to the perfect cup. 1. The beans must be dark, oily, and finely ground. They must be of the highest quality you can afford. 2. The most important....your machine must be a REAL espresso maker.Forget about those combo coffee makers.Forget about Name-brand department store machines...they all have one thing in common.The espresso always tastes weak and you cannot control the strength of it.These ordinary machines cannot give you rich espresso topped with Creme( a frothy rich creamy foam that floats atop the perfect espresso).This is because no machine, except for industrial high-tech machines used in coffee shops, can carry the pressure necessary to create the perfect espresso.
