If I could rate it zero stars I would have.
I had the CE100 for all of 3 days and it was just awful, I ended up exchanging it for the CE200 (so glad I did) The CE100, has some problems, first off, it doesn't sew, and considering this IS a sewing machine I find this to be a big problem!!The bobbin thread will not lock your stitches, and on top of that the top thread breaks like every 4 stitches. And for those of you wondering I have sewn for over 15 years and believe me I called customer service, and they told me that the CE100 series has a problem with the bobbin casing cracking. Well call me crazy but why are they still selling the dumb thing then?? Seriously, I spent 3 very long days doing nothing but being upset, angry, and aggervated, not to mention saying ugly words and making up new ones when those didn't work:-) Save yourself from what I went through, just spend the extra money and get the CE200, once you get it and figure it out , it can be addictive! Absolutely Love It, I'm a beginner, it's not hard to use!
My husband bought this for me a year ago, I had never used an embroidery machine before.I was kind of scared about having to learn the new technology.I flipped through the manual for about 30 minutes and then got started, it worked easily and effortlessly.I use the software to digitize clipart and drawings that I scan into the computer, it is so much fun!Family members and friends are always so impressed when they see what I make.I'm going to a wedding in a month and I plan on monogramming some towels as a present.
There was a problem but now it is fixed!!
These machines are awesome and powerful, but were getting poor reviews when they debuted in 2005 because of a bobbin problem and a software problem.Singer has moved to fix both problems.Newer stock of machines have a much-improved bobbin cover, which eliminates the problem of the bobbin getting progressively worse.A new version of the software has no known problems.You can update your software at their website, or call customer service to get the problem fixed.I have found their customer service to be first rate.Poke around the website for tons more information than is in the books that come with it.

Marvelous machine
The machine it's very usefull, the embroideries are so cool, fast with a great quality, a little trouble with the softare instalation but quickly fixed with the support page advise.
Sometimes it works sometimes IT WONT!!!!
I have had this machine for over two years.I love it when it works but HATE IT when it doesn't!At first I had a bad machine that would not sew right, not even the Singer Store could fix it for me, so I got to excange it for a new one.Now I'm have trouble with the software and Singer is no HELP!!!!!If I had it to do over I would not have bought this machine, no mater how cool and neat it SOUNDS, it has only cased me heartace and biterness towards sewing, something I used to love.

embroidery software sucks
the sewing machine is great.the embroidery machine works good when it wants to.it is an evil machine with a mind of it's own.the software doesn't explain the problem and if it does and you fix it, you can't go back to the same design and then it won't let you start a new one because that "transmission is still pending."there's no way to get back to the pending transmission though.it's very frustrating!the autopunch program used to turn photos and drawings into embroidery is also very difficult to use unless the picture is just right and it takes about 100 trial and errors to get it there with no help or suggestions from the software as to why half of the design isn't coming through.i give it 3 stars because i think the sewing machine is great.if it where just the embroidery machine i was reviewing, it'd be zero! ... Simple to use, but difficult to fix a problem.
Though I am not a novice at this sort of stuff, I bought this because it was very basic and user friendly.It is easy to use in regards to setting up and threading etc.But I can't seem to get the tension right.I have tried every stabilizer and thread tension, but it never comes out right.I've tried it on T-shirt material because I thought this would be the easiest and I still can't get it to embroider properly.I can't get any help from the company. This machine has been sitting at my house for 5 months and not one shirt came out right!Anyone who can help me, please email me at yjrose712@yahoo.com

Love This Machine!
The Simplicity SE3 is so simple to use! I purchased this machine and received it within just a few days from Amazon. Watched the video, and I was embroidering within minutes! It's been a long time since I purchase a sewing machine of any type and I was amazed by automation of this machine. It tells you when there is a problem such as thread breaking or warns you the presser foot hasn't been lowered. It stitches very nice and even. Even my husband was impressed! Watch out, once you get this machine you will be looking at every towel, shirt or piece of cloth wondering what you can embroider on it! A lot of Brother accessories will also fit this machine which makes it very versitle. I chose this machine over the Brother 150 as it had many more options to it. It's worth every cent!

Amazon sells the best!
I bought this machine from another dealer and bought it factory serviced(because it was cheaper and came with some extras).I hade problems with the factory serviced machine and ended up paying much more in the end.I have never had a problem with a factory serviced item from Amazon so I thought factory serviced from another company would have the same quality.I would suggest that you buy new like the one they have listed here.The machine is very easy to use.The video is very simple to follow.I watched the video and completed my first project in a matter of minutes. ... Not what I expected.
First, I bought this because it was described as having a drop in bobbin.It is not.The bobbim jambs unless you hold the threads as you start each seam.I have never had to do that with any of my other sewing machines. I sew a lot of heavy fabric and bought this machine for that reason, but save your money and get a better machine. The reverse button fell off after a weeks use. I was able to put it back on but that just shows the quality.

I had only used older Singers and a Kenmore of my Mothers' and took sewing in High School, many years ago.

Brother PE400D - A Great Machine
Wow...When I first got this machine and looked at all the stuff that came with it, I was a bit intimidated by it all.But, a quick view of the enclosed CD and an hour or so of playing around with it, and I had no problem.I starting using the decorative stitches and embroidery designs right away.The machine runs very smoothly...a real joy after 25 years on an old Singer.Great machine.

Great Little Machine! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
I've had the Brother PE 400D for a bit over a year now.It is a great little machine.I have NEVER had any needle breaking issues. I'm not sure if the writer of the previos post with that issue was using the correct needle (you need to use an embroidery needle with the embroidery presser foot for embroidery,and you must usse a sewing needle, and coordinating presser foot for general sewing).

Love this machine
I've had the machine appox. 6 months,love the endless bobbin,but what I really love is the automatic threading, I have arthritis in my fingers and theeyesight is not what it used to be.The singer cards for embroidery arenot to badly priced (in comparison to other brands),italso uses select Amazing Design cards.It sews beautifully instruction book is easy to follow.Really do like the machine,made in Japan by Juki.

It has great features like the Endless Bobbin (machine will stop and wind the bobbin until full and resume stitching when empty). This feature ALONE should be enough. I am a huge fan of not having to rewind my bobbins a million times. This will save you HOURS of work! It will also allow continuous hoop allows continuation of the design with simple adjustment to fabric, Color LCD Screen that is easy to read and displays patterns. These features truly set this machine apart and make your work easier and faster from simple sewing to the most complex creations. Not worth it!
When we purchased the machine there were only 2 fonts to use. you had to purchase a $150 Program to get more fonts. On top of that when you go to use the small hoop it rejects it, so they had us down load some software. and it erased our hyperfont ($150) and now the machine will not work. we also run a business. Corel Drawings
I bought Corel Drawings Pro edition about 8 months ago expecting to be able to do actual digitizing. Basically all you can do is Draw a picture and the software automatically turns it into stitches. That is a great feature but if you need to digitize things in a specific direction or order, your out of luck. You can't import other Emb designs. You cant resequence parts to run in a different order. Theres are no cut, copy, or paste functions. The lettering is ok but if you want it to sew center out the end result looks terrible (basically starts at center, sews a line to one side and then sews from left to right.) Although this software is well suited for beginners who wish to sew only flat embroidery, The features are pretty elementery for people who demand professional results. ... Read more

This is a great little machine!
I've had this machine for 9 months and couldn't be happier.After watching the instructional DVD that came with the machine, I was embroidering within minutes.It's very easy to thread, and comes with many designs, including the wonderful Disney designs.I eventually purchased a card reader/writer so that I can download designs, many free, directly from the internet.

I have been researching and trying to decide, literally for years, if I should get an embroidery machine. I do a lot of craft items, as well as handmade gifts for my entire family every year. Wonderful product except for on line down loads
The simplicity smart box is wonderful.The only down side was in order to use the product you had to jump through some downloading hoops online before the product was up and running that took me a couple of days and a number of phone calls before I got it up and running.Once it was running it was GREAT!

I love it!
This system is great!The only drawback is that I had to go to Simplicity's website to get an update before the thing would work (It would have been great if the update had been included as a disk or if, at least, there had been a slip of paper in the box to let me know to download the update.Fortunately, I had read other reviews, and when the machine wouldn't work properly, I thought to go to the website).I love the flexibility the system provides: I'm no longer limited to the cards with pre-set designs.I was able to embroider my son a Classic Pooh shirt for his one-year birthday.It was adorable!

Very unhappy
Forget the SmartBox and the Amazing Box.Been there done that.Both have been totally unreliable for me with Windows XP. After much frustration and no real technical support, I went with the Vikant Ultimate Box.It works like a dream and writes to both the Smart Box Blank Card and the Amazing Box Blank Card.It is fabulous! Simplicity SMC_EE Effortless Embroidery Digiral Embroidery Program
At first I did not like this software.But then I got used to the way it worked and now I love it.I own a Brother Embroidery machine and it creates wonderful images for my machine.But it does not do a great job on all images but my embroidery needs are for simple images and for me it is a wonderful, well priced software.

Sure it's the bottom of the line in embroidery software and you do get what you pay for but it does work.The trick is to spend time in a drawing or photo program manipulating the image before running it through this program since this program doesn't provide for any flexibility.Garbage in, garbage out as they used to say.Read more
