Presto 06841 Professional Electric Skillet and Server
To tell you the truth I have never had this brand of Electric skillet nor have I had a professional brand, even though I have just purchased this electric skillet and have not really had a chance to see it's performance over the long haul but so far the few times I have used it, I have had no problems and I can say it is fast and heats up almost instantly. Does not burn or scorch the food and is a breeze to clean even easier than my Westbend electric skillet with a teflon interior, this Presto brand seems quite sturdy, handles are strong has a nice big handle on top of lid which is nice to hold. Skillet is heavy for heavy duty aluminum which is a very good feature and don't find that kind of quality in electric skillets nowadays, at this point I can tell you I am very happy with the purchase of this skillet and it far outweighed my expectations of the Presto brand. Even though I did not price this skillet anywhere else I believe I paid a lower price than I would have paid in the brick and mortar stores, Sure Source which was the seller of this skillet I might add was fast and my Skillet arrived in tact and working. If you want to purchase a brand that meets the sturdiness and versatility that this brand seems to offer then I would recommend this Professional style Skillet which also doubles as a server.

Presto's Electric Skillet and Server is one of the best! I use electric skillets quite frequently in cooking I find that Presto's electric skillet cooks evenly, washes easily and resists scratches better than the other brands. Reasonably priced, it is a good deal for everyday cooking needs.

this thing cooks
If you are a serious cook this item does more than boil water, yes that is it's purpose and this does it well. Boiling a small amount of pasta? Start this up and heat a pan on the stove. This is MUCH faster.A great time saver. Making James Beard's recipe for apricot bread? Use the mesuring device and add the boiling water. This is not the same thing as a burner device.I use it often for coffee, but, often it has so many more uses.Think of the times you boil water and you may get the idea.

The best on the market
If all you want to do is heat water, this is the best.It is fast, quiet and reliable.It pours very well.This was purchased to replace an earlier version of the same model.Unfortunately, they shortened the cord a bit (pulled all the way out) and removed the red float, so it's harder to see when you have the right amout of water in it.However, it is still a really great product.

Avoid this thing like the plague
I had an old Black & Decker SpaceMaker which broke after about 10 years of daily use.I bought this product as a replacement.It looks sleek, takes up very little space, but has one tiny flaw.....it doesn't open cans.In order to open a can you have to tilt the can just right under the "locater post" and even then the one I have opens a can maybe only 1 out of 20 tries.Maybe I got a lemon, but in any event, its not even worth returning it after considering shipping, etc.I'll just buy another brand and eat this one.Do yourself a favor - pass on this product.

Works well
I've never had problems getting this can opener to work right, and use it quite often.The blade is removable to wash, but they made it really tough to remove (I suppose that's better than it falling off way to easily, but it's complicated enough that I do it very infrequently because of the hassle).

Much needed addition
This warming tray makes meals much easier to prepare - no longer worrying about keeping one thing warm while another finishes cooking. Not quite sure how we did without one for so long. One very nice additional feature of the Maxim warming tray is that it has the hot spot on it which keeps things 40 degrees warmer - very nice to have.

Very poor product
I was initially thrilled with the features of this skillet - the size, the lid, the removeable pan.But after less than three months of once-a-week use, the non-stick lining started chipping off into our food!That chemical may be great on a frypan, but it's not great in your digestive system - I was scared to keep using it and threw the whole thing away.We're so disillusioned with non-stick products that we're going to stop purchasing them, and go back to good old-fashioned cast-iron, which is at least good for you.Anyway, I do NOT recommend this product!

Very Disappointed
I bought this skillet and at first, it was a dream. Unfortunately, I did not see the review about the improper heating of the pan. I too, experienced the middle of the pan becoming discolored and sticking. It is impossible to clean this area. I threw away my money on this product. DO NOT BUY.
Never Again For This Skillet
If I could give no stars for this, I would. I've been using electric skillets for more years then I care to say. I love cooking with them and when my last one simply wore out from so much use, I bought this one. What a mistake. After only minimal use, the middle of the pan began to burn extra hot and all the food was sticking and burning. Then the coating began to peel from the pan. The middle began to buldge slightly so the surface was not flat for even frying. What a nightmare!! This pan was less then two months old! And I do know how to treat and cook with electric skillets - just in case you were thinking I did something to cause this. I have never been so disappointed in a product before. However, it did have a new place in our home - the trash can. Guess I should have read the reviews first. Now that was my mistake!!! ... Read more

Not fun!!
I bought this item because the reviews said it was fun, and did a good job.I find it very difficult to puncture a can and get it started running.It seems that the design makes the leverage all wrong.Then when I do get it to start, it often cuts out.I am not really happy with it and expect I will have to find another can opener to get the job done.

Looks nice but leaks
The Metropolis line of products has nice styling (we bought the toaster, blender, and kettle).The kettle, however, leaks from somewhere around the bottom.We will now need to figure out how to get it replaced

A beautiful lemon
One extra star for the looks - but it is not only the looks we are after, aren't we? It worked well for about a year and a few days. In other words, it stopped working at about the time its warranty expired.In the meantime, it also managed to destroy my cabinet since it forget to shut off properly.No more DeLonghi in my house, I am sorry.

Metropolis kettle: works great, looks great!
We've had this kettle about a month or more and are very, very pleased with it's performance.We are a family of tea and coffee drinkers who are saving on our energy bill by using this electric kettle verses the old stove-top model.The Delonghi is trouble free, looks great on the kitchen counter and heats enough water for our teapots or large french press.We use filtered water, so there is no issue with cleaning or maintenance.The safety features are very handy (I've melted a few old style kettles to the stovetop!?!) and it heats the water quickly.I highly recommend this particular item, and I will order DeLonghi products in the future. ... We were impressed with how it looked. We wanted something a little fancier for the office but we had a hard time, almost impossible, keeping the "On lever" pushed down in order for the water to even boil. I love it!
I think this griddle/skillet combo is fantastic.I use mine almost every day.The only problems that I have encountered are: once I dropped it while putting it away, and part of the plastic base broke off.This has made it more difficult to pick up, but it still works fine, and it was an accident.Also, the nonstick coating has been scratching lately.It does get a lot of use, but I was hoping that it would last longer.I am planning to buy another one though.

Indispensable tool!
I don't know how I got along without this incredibly versatile kitchen utensil. The non-stick surface is perfect and the heating element is almost instantaneous. At first, I just used it for stir-fry, but it is so handy that I've actually used it for everything from frying bacon to General Tso's chicken. It's also a great steamer. Being portable, you can use it on the deck or even in the garage on rainy days if (like us) you don't want the whole house to smell like garlic. The fully submersible cleanup is a real advantage -- just wash it with soap and water and air dry for the next use. The cookbook which comes with it is a genuine value in itself: several excellent recipes plus a succinct tutorial on various frying techniques. You'll be a pro the first time out. Great product!!

Outstanding! No Wok Envy Here
I bought this wok because I have a ceramic top range and could not get good results from so called flat bottom woks and fry pans. I have envied an asian neighbor's gas range and the carbon steel wok he uses. Since a kitchen remodel and a gas range is a long way off for me, I decided to try an electric wok. I read many reviews of various electric woks and was not certain I would be satisified with any of them. I took a gamble on this one and I am not disappointed. I prepared several dishes the first weekend I got this wok and it performs as well as the carbon steel wok on a gas range. It gets extremely hot, very quickly. I deep fried chicken for General Tso's Chicken in this wok, drained the oil, wiped it clean with a paper towel, then stir fried the chicken with sauce for as good and authentic a dish as you can get at any restaurant - crispy in a spicy sweet sauce. I also prepared Szechuan green beens, shrimp fried rice, and fried crab wontons, all with excellent results and the clean up in between dishes was very easy, again requiring a simple wipe with a paper towel in between dishes - even the caramelized sauce remains that usually stick and burn on my other pans. At the end, I just disconnected the control element and washed the wok with hot soapy water in the sink and it cleaned up in a snap - inside and out. I used a metal spatula for all the stir frying and the circulon annodized nonstick looks as good as it did when I removed it from the box. Even my neighbor was impressed with the results. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants the results of a gas fired wok but for what ever reason can't use one.

Customers Beware!!!
I have spent thousands of dollar's, On Meyers cookware everthing from KitchenAid, Anolon, Prestige, Faberware, & Circulan, just to name a few. Though Meyers does manufacture very high quality pots & pans and I would recommend them to anyone it's just sad that if you have any problem with them, under warranty, you have to go throught the chain of command, that never gets you anywhere, even if you want to speak with upper management about the rudeness of the customer service department. Their customer service department employees are always very rude and snotty and they act like they are doing you a favor to even talk to you about their products. Don't get me wrong they do make good cookware, probably the best, but you as the consumer are at the mercy of their customer service and their descision or your fait on wheather your life time warranty is honored or not. ... Met my expectations
I purchased the Fold n Store based on the product description and found that it met my expectations.It is small and easy to store, the surface is non-stick and it has dual temperature controls.The surface is large enough to cook for two and it cleans up easy.The rest is up to you.

Great Griddle

Working for over 2 years
I have had this unit for over 2 years and everything still works just as good as the day I bought it.I use it as my only stove almost daily as I live in a basement apartment.The only problem I have with it is that it takes a while to heat to the point of boiling but once there it stays hot.

Large Burner Failed
Large burner failed after about 12 months use.I opened it up the wire between the plug and the resistor had burned.Not only is it broken, it is a fire hazard.I lost all the paperwork that came with it and I probably voided the warranty by opening it.I think I can fix it but I am not going to risk a fire, so I will try another brand.

Very disappointed
But by the looks of the other reviews here, I guess I did better than most. It took mine 11 months to break. Worked great (slow to heat up, but that's okay), until yesterday when it started to smell and then smoke came pouring out. After reading other comments I can see it's not worth trying to get it fixed. Now I'll need to buy another hotplate, but it definitely won't be a Toastmaster. I will never buy a Toastmaster product again. For the $40 I paid, it should have lasted a lot longer than 11 months. Don't waste your money. ... Read more

Fantastic for pancakes
Bought this at a local warehouse club.Works great.Heats very evenly.The grill side tend to collect grease and carbon and not drain well, but the griddle side is great.(The included scraper helps keep it draining).You can do two very nice sized pancakes at once, and they both cook well. It's quite heavy, which gives it it's good heat capacity.
Great Grill/Griddle
I have been using my Grill/Griddle regularly since it was purchased and I am very pleased with it's performance. I really like the temperature control unlike using my foreman grill.It is great for grilling everything with ample room.It's fits in my Kitchen Aid dishwasher but it is so easy to clean that it usually doesnt get to the dishwasher.I shopped all the brands before buying and found this one to be the most convenient and versatile.

This is a great roaster!
I really do love this product because it browns things so well on the top and the bottom.HOWEVER, you can't lower or control the temperature, and I have found that the only way to be sure that food browns on the outside while being fully heated through and cooked inside (Other than when cooking meats), the way to go is to cook it before putting it in this roaster.I would heat pizza for a bit in the microwave, then put it in the roaster and get a beautiful crisp fresh from the oven taste.

West Bend Wok
I purchased this item as a Christmas present for my daughter-in-law.She had one previously,but it wore out and we were unable to find a replacement. She absolutely loves the West Bend Wok and says one of the features she especially likes is the fact that it maintains a certain temperature throughout the whole cooking process, rather than low, medium or high with the control switching off as soon as it reaches that temperature. It is easy to clean and hopefully will last "forever"!

great wok - easy to clean
I find myself using this wok more than I thought. Although it is large it is very lightweight and so easy to clean. It is nice to plug it in and start cooking right away. I purchased this at a Kitchen Etc.. going out of business sale for only $24 so it was a great investment!!
