Wonderful Product

I am from Europe and tabletop cooking is such a popular thing there. We purchased this particular item because of the similarities to the grills available for purchase in Europe. The unit is easy to use, the little metal "stands" are a great alternative to letting the raclette dishes either sit on the table after they are used or baking under the heating element (the european grills we looked at did not have the stands). The cooking surface is fairly easy to clean, although the grooves on the "grill" side of it can prove challenging to clean if the unit has been on for a while. We have named Monday night "grill" night - the children love it because it reminds them of some of the things we did when we were visiting my family (who we don't see very often). The one downfall to the unit: the cord is just not long enough - I can understand the need for safety, etc., but I just do not know anybody who has an outlet close enough to their table to use the unit without an extension cord (if you have use it on the counter, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of having a tabletop grill??). ... Boils on Low
On the low setting, mine boils and cooks a roast in 1/2 the time if not less. The liquid boils within a couple hours - luckily i've been home to turn it on warm and it seems to cook ok on this. This may just be my pot as it seems other consumers have not all experienced this. 5 stars if this weren't the problem because I really enjoy the ceramic pot - it's very easy to clean out. Overall, an ideal addition to any kitchen.

Best Everyday Cooker I've Ever Had
I have this model.It is so much more than a slow cooker, but slow it can be!I've purchased Rival products before this one and every thing in a Rival BOILS, even at low setting.This is truly slow and I have not experienced "hot" spots or over-cooking as other reviewers have.
Versatile but different from traditional slow cooker
I purchased this thinking I was going to throw away my old crock pot.I will keep the old crock pot on hand for things that need surround heat on the vessel wall - I have one recipe where this pot doesn't do the job because the heat is just from the bottom.Otherwise, it's great because the vessel is non-stick - cleanup is a breeze!I make soups, stews, chili, etc in this.This should be called a hot plate cooker because that's what it is - a pot on top of a hot plate.Whereas the traditional crock pot has heat around the vessel wall this does not.The heat source is just from the bottom.This has not been an issue except when I make jook/congee (traditional Chinese porridge).I may have to adjust my recipe but otherwise this pot is a keeper.I even use the nonstick pot on my stove to make sticky things like rice crispy squares.I don't have to add margarine/butter because it doesn't stick.What a bonus! ... Great buy
This hot pot is great in the dorm. It boils fast, cleans easy, and is small enough to not be a problem. I haven't had any problems with a "placticy" taste, and really no problems overall.

Missing a basic function
While researching inexpensive electric kettles for the occasional in-office cup of tea, I checked for capacity, ease of cleaning, etc., but I never thought to check if it would actually TURN OFF. After ordering this 45802 Hot Pot I failed to note that the temperature dial goes from Warm to Boil but has no actual Off position. After boiling my first cup of water on Friday (which did work nicely) I left, only to come back on Monday to discover that the pot was warm! Luckily there was still some water in it and no damage done. In addition, I have also found that the way that the lid seals near the handle is prone to leave a small gap through which boiling steam will escape as you tip it forward, thus exposing your hand to an unpleasant surprise. We have had years of experience using Presto products and knew that we wanted to stay with the Presto product if the style and features were suitable...they were!We placed the order and in just several days we received the Griddle, much sooner than we expected.It was as advertised except there was a very small chip off one end of the plastic.We called Presto and they immediately shipped the replacement part which took less than 15 minutes to install using a 1/4" nut driver.The Griddle works perfectly and has already proven itself during several breakfasts for houseguests.Amazon.com is a good place to shop and Presto has a good product that they stand behind.

An Old Friend Indeed
We have had this griddle for about nine years.It's been virtually perfect.After a GREAT, GREAT deal of use the non-stick coating is finally wearing a little thin in spots, but I'm not a faithful non-stick utensil user - sometimes I cheat and use metal utensils on the thing and I also use SOS pads, which I'm am sure are a no-no, just because they are handy in the sink when I'm washing the griddle.The grease cup catches all the grease, the top is perfectly sized (not too big, not too small), I LOVE this griddle.I cannot praise this griddle enough.Simple, reliable, durable - a true old kitchen friend indeed.Enjoy yours as we have ours. ... Rapid Water Boiling
I recently purchased the Toastess Kettle and have been extremely pleased.I use it to make tea in my office and it heats water faster than anything other than a microwave (without the danger microwave boiling can present).I highly recommend this kettle.

I absolutely love my toastess kettle. The water boils fast, there's an automatic shut-off, and being cordless, I can heat up water and then set it on the table for dinner. Change to one star!
This is my edited last review of this can opener. I reviewed it earlier and mentioned I would follow-up if necessary. I fear the product has a major problem. Again I used it about 4 times and it was simply outstanding. My wife used this second one today and managed to break it again her first try! The same plastic insert that busted before broke again. They obviously have a problem with this insert as I cannot imagine it breaking the second time around. Granted, my wife may not have the skill level I have when using a can opener, however, I now have no choice but to give up this little venture and buy the "West Bend" can opener which has such great reviews here on "Amazon.com". The up-side is that I will save $25.

Not worth the higher price
Worked OK, if one excludes the splashing of liquid contents on the opener and countertop.Frequently, when it finishes opening the can, the lid moves suddenly and splashes liquid on the opener and elsewhere - cleanup required.Now, after a year's use, the auto shutoff is becoming intermittent - one has to babysit the opener to try to stop it.

Can't Opener
Very disappointed with this can opener.Got this for my husband for a gift expecting good quality because of the name brand and cost.Like the rest of the unhappy consumers, getting the opener to grip the can is frustrating.When you are able to get it set, the blade ripps and tears the can and paper leaving paper and metal filings in the food, the the little plastic thing that holds the cutter into the base comes loose so you have to tighten it.I've had to retreive it from the trash can many times from my husband throwing it out in total disgust so, now it's time to find one that works.

What's Not To Like?

Disappointting
I thought that this item would have helped my wife with her daily chores but to my great surprise this Item only opened one can and failed to start. After trying two new set of batteries I have decide that it was money badly spent. The idea of the opener was good but this particular product has no durability.

This contact grill-panini grill is great!We moved into a 3rd floor condo without a place for outside cooking but since we bought this grill I can't say we miss it. This grill heats up extremely well, something my several George Foreman grills didn't do.We like it for steaks and hamburgers, my husband says the ones I do are as good as he did on the grill.It is also very fast; we grill thin steaks in 2-3 minutes; it took 10 minutes on our gas grill. We also like it for grilled sandwiches like Reubens; the bread comes out crisp and the center is completely heated through.We like the temperature choices.It doesn't have removeable plates - nothing to break!They wash off easily; I put wet paper towels in it and let it sit while we eat.I would recommend it to anyone - look for it in the warehouse stores as well.
