DON'T GET BURNED!!!
This product is a law suit waiting to happen.I am constantly getting burned from the steam coming out the opening from the lid that does not fit on snuggly.Or the lid will fall off mid pour and hit the cup and water spills everywhere. For those of you thinking DUH hold the lid on with your finger - that finger gets burned from the steam coming from the pour hole.All in all its a really bad design - good idea - bad design.
Needs Improvement
I actually have the Toastmaster THMP2, which as far as I can tell is pretty much identical to this pot but with a now obsolete model number.

Great Crock Pot with a great price from Sears
Just brought this smart-pot at Sears on 9/2/06 for $28.88, same one that Wal-mart.com has for $48.00. What a great price and i finally used it today, cooked a deer roast with the works, cooked it slow for 8 hrs. on low and it did a great job, and the pototoes was not mushy either. So glad i bought one, and for the price you can't go wrong. Melody

Second times a charm for my unit, now I'm happy!
I upgraded my 10 year old crockpot dinosaur to this latest and greatest programmable slow cooker and added it to my arsenal of kitchen gadgetry.I bought the Rival 6 quart Oval Smart-Pot Slow Cooker after reviewing all it's competition.I discovered my unit was malfunctioning and never achieving heat above the lowest setting.It took me 3 roasts to find that costly error out.I've learned my lesson in the event that I ever crock pot shop again, test it in a water heating test like mentioned in other reviews and online blogs!So I returned the crock pot and got the exact same one and it works great.I'm very happy with it, I did find that because it was a bigger crock pot, I needed to add water to the cooking pot when before I didn't, maybe the heat needed a conductor to even out through the meat?Don't know, but after adding 1/2 water, that was the trick.I have not experienced the lid jarring or spitting liquids like other user comments and reviews.I'm thrilled with the performance of this crock pot, and I use it 2-3 times a week.Also, I do like the controls, it comes in very handy when you know exactly when you're going to be arriving home...and then your plans change on a dime, don't worry, the crock pot remembered to turn itself on warm!Oh, relief!There are times though I wish the pre-set times were different on the low setting, instead of locking into 4-6 hours, maybe it would go 6-8, and the same for themedium and high temperatures with longer time settings for shorter times instead.Perhaps newer generations will have an override switch?I suppose then you'd have people not like the crock pot because it had too many switches.So, all in all, I do really like this crock pot, the options it does have outweigh the things I can think up that'd I'd change about it.

I am very happy with the crock pot, however when I decided to speed things along by putting it in a conventional oven, the handle on the lid melted.I would like to replace the lid only. works great.......... for 2 months! Then it is DONE!
Although it appears to be a great product for the first couple of months... when it's done.. it's done!It simply STOPPED working after 2 months.If you purchase this item, be certain you purchase the small appliance replacement warranty from Amazon.. because the manufacturer certainly will not replace it!

All You Need in the Kitchen!
I cook breakfast for guests in my B&B daily with the convenience of this skillet. I can make almost everything for dinners and breakfasts in this deep dish skillet. I can honestly say that you must use oil, watch your cooking time and everything turns out great! Cleanup is so easy and the glass dome is convenient. I would recommend every household own a skillet like this one instead of using the stove. Thanks, Lacy

Room for improvement, but used frequently
Previously, I owned a Rival S16 electric skillet, but gave it to my mother when she moved.I replaced it with this S16G almost one year ago.It's still going strong.
Big disappointment!
I received this as a Christmas gift and was very excited.What a huge disappointment!I've used this at least eight times and every time my food sticks to the bottom.I've tried every trick I know to stop the food from sticking - nothing works. After trying to make hash browns in it last night for supper and once again winding up with half the hash browns stuck to the pan - I am throwing this away.I'd give it NO stars if I could! ...
