4-0 out of 5 stars Cheap Hot Water
This is a phenomenal price for an electric kettle. The lid doesn't seat so tightly, and it doesn't feel terribly robust, but for the cost, this will make tea and instant coffee in your office, dorm or home. We even heat up spagetti boiling water in it to speed it along the way (pouring it into the spaghetti pot to get a head start.)
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Electric Kettle
I can't believe that amazon put this on a one day sale for $10.I should have bought more.

Featuring an ergonomic handle and smooth lines, Braun's1,500-watt electric water kettle handily sits on a separate heatingelement. When water boils--one cup takes only 70 seconds--it's a reliefto pick up the kettle and pour without worrying about the plug draggingbehind. Once the kettle is removed from the base, it automaticallyturns off for safety. This good-sized kettle heats up to six cups ofwater, making it ideal for small meetings at the office or to quicklyheat up water (and water only, please) at home. It has ananti-calcification filter to help keep the water tasting clear andclean. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but overpriced
I've owned this kettle for about a month now.It does what's advertised, but it's far from perfect (that's why it gets a B- from me).In fact, it's no better than Black&Decker I bought at Target some 4 years ago for around $20.The "Open the Lid" button only gets the lid ajar without fully opening it (the lid is not spring loaded), so you do need both hands in order to open the lid (which is an incovinience if you have a pitcher of water in the other hand). You can fill it through the nose, but you gotta be careful not to spill the water around. Both the power button and the "Open the Lid" button have extremely cheap feel to them, there are huge gaps around them ... if I were to rate it on fit and finish alone it would get 2 stars ... but since my wife likes it, I'll give it 4 stars

5-0 out of 5 stars Works like it's s'posed to
I purchased this kettle about a month and a half ago, and from the time I unpacked it it's seen heavy, daily use by both me and my roommate. We are both caffeine junkies, so the fact that it boils water fast is cool.We are also both pretty spacy, so the fact that it turns itself off is also cool.I'm trying to think of gripes I have with the thing, but it actually works really well.If you need an electric doodad to heat up water, this will do it for you.

1-0 out of 5 stars Leaked after a year
This would be a great kettle- pretty fast, decent design, but one year after purchase I am finding growing puddles under it- a leak has developed at the point where the bottom meets the side of the container. I have yet to find a kettle that is durable. This should have lasted at least 5 years. I hate disposable appliances. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Purchase
I am glad I did the research and am quite happy with the Griddler. Previously I purchased the newest George and returned it because of it's size. The Griddler is not that much bigger however it opens up to double the grilling space. The plates are easily removed, cleaned, and replaced.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent griddler
I just used my griddler for the first time after ordering and receiving it quickly from Amazon (Thanks Amazon for the fast shipping). This was an excellent buy.I especially liked that you can detach the griddle irons and wash them in the sink. The grease ran right into the little cups and it cooked the boneless chicken quickly and with no mess.A quick tip is to spray on non stick cooking spray and this helps with the clean up.I liked the design, it heated up quickly.I look forward to using this appliance often.Having used the other grills, I think I made a good buy. Thanks everyone for the reviews, reading them convinced me to make this purchase!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good concept - Unreliable
Worked great on first usuage.By the 4th time I used the unit, it would boil for a minute past boiling, spewing steam and water out of the pot. Yes the metal pot does get hot, but I like the stainless steel. I am reordering a replacement unit due to the strong recommendations of other owners.I was very disappointed that Target was unable to handle my return.

2-0 out of 5 stars great while it lasted
great kettle, until it broke, after about 6 months of use. This seems to be a design flaw.

5-0 out of 5 stars Steve's review
The Proctor-Silex Fifth Burner helped and still helping us to survive our remodeling project. It is sturdy and well balanced. Heating control may not be the most refined, but I did not expect that for a product at this price. It is working well above our expectations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awesome.
Great product. I am using this because my kitchen is under remodelling. Works great with smaller vessels. Heats up evenly. I give 4 points because I am annoyed by the bulb on the stove. Editorial Review

All kitchen and sporting knives, whether professional quality or inexpensive, need a blade tune-up now and then. This electric sharpener produces razor-sharp edges using the same rapidly rotating Sapphirite grinding wheels used by professional shops. A two-stage system allows knives to be ground and sharpened on the Stage 1 half of the machine, and then honed on the Stage 2 half. Blade guides hold the knife at the ideal sharpening angle for each side of the blade, as it is drawn slowly towards the user and kept parallel to the countertop. The sharpener is suitable for knives made of alloy, carbon, or stainless steel; it is perfectly normal for sparks to fly when knives of high carbon steel come in contact with the Sapphirite wheels. Non-electric serrated knives that are only serrated on one side can also be sharpened with this machine. Three suction cups on the bottom hold the sharpener securely on a table or countertop, and two receptacles underneath catch metal filings for disposal. The sharpener measures 8-1/4 by 5-3/4 by 4 inches, and is covered by a two-year warranty against defects. Read more

  • Electric sharpener produces razor-sharp knives in just minutes

1-0 out of 5 stars Dull
Well, I go by alot of reviews on Amazon here, but I disagree with the ones here now, maybe I bougth the lemon, I've had this for a couple of years and have never had a good sharp edge on my knives, I am sure both wheels are the same grit and the the sharpening looks the same on both wheels, I've gone back to using my file to sharpen and in 20 to 30 seconds I can sharpen my knives with a razor edge where this machine only takes the flat spots off.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Knife Sharpener
This sharpener puts a razor edge on knives. I had a draw of dull knives that I was going to throw out. After using this sharpener, these old dull knives are better than new.

5-0 out of 5 stars Impressive
What a great tool.I've tried sharpening using a steel, and I find I don't have the talent to do it well.I've bought other sharpeners, like the Mouse magnet and the ones on the backs of can openers, but this sharpener is the best of them all.

A real time-saver, this 32-ounce Hot Pot boils water 60 percent faster than a microwave. The plain white exterior makes it equally at home in an office or dorm room, and the nonstick interior can be wiped out easily with a soapy sponge (the pot should never be immersed in water). Seven settings, from low to high, allow milk to gently warm or noodle soups to come to a full boil. A one-year warranty covers the pot against defects. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars It's good....for a while
We use the Hot Pot in the office and it does indeed heat water really fast. The problem is that after only a few months (less than a year) of ownership, it started leaking like crazy. I guess we'll have to get another one. I'm glad it's cheap.

1-0 out of 5 stars Works for a while but then leaks
I've had two of these Rival hot pots. Both worked for a couple of months and then started leaking on my counters.
5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT for college students!
I recieved this hot pot as a graduation gift and it was one of the 3 things that I always used.It heats quickly, pours nicely, and cleans easily.4 years, no problems, and I'm bringing it to my new apartment.Very useful for boiling water for tea or cocoa, eggs, and pasta, and making soup.In my opinion, it is a great substitute for an electric kettle because it's shape allows for more versatility in the kitchen. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
As I always do, I did lots of research on electric can openers before buying the West Bend.I have a manual side opening one made by ONO which is also great, but since I open at least 6 cans of dog food/day, I wanted to go electric.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very sexy
This is a gorgeous appliance. It cuts nicely and is easy to work with, however, I dislike how tightly the magnet holds onto the lid.I have to hold the piercing handle with one hand and remove the lid with the other to avoid being cut.

5-0 out of 5 stars FINALLY A TRUE "SLOW" COOKER
After trying (and returning) several slow cookers which both overcooked the food on low heat, I purchased this West Bend 84765 model.Put together some potatoes, chicken thighs, broccoli, carrots, etc.Left on LOW for 10 hours....vegetables were juicy and flavorsome...chicken was fall-off-the-bone moist. This is the way a slow cooker should cook....everything should turn out tender and juicy. Thanks for all of your opinions on this site, which convinced me to purchase this wonderful slow cooker!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great cooking
I just love my new pot.I can cook, braise, saute and slow cook all in the same pot.I love it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product!
Purchased this slow cooker after my other one bit the dust. This is an EXCELLENT slow cooker--it looks small in the package, but holds more than you think. The teflon coating is perfect for easy cleanup--aluminum container is light to pick up and move (with oven mits). I've not used the bottom as a griddle, but purchased this as a true slow cooker. I've done chili, soups, meats and am very pleased. Watch the temperature controls until you get used to them. The tote is a bonus-easy to store that way and keep it unscratched, but I've not transported anything. I've tried several slow cookers and this is simply the best design and performance. Light, easy to clean, fairly large (mid-size roasts) capacity. You shouldn't be disappointed if you buy one. ... Read more

Editorial Review

With the Lids Off jar opener, Black & Decker has simplified the opening of jars to a no-strain, one-hand operation. Electrically powered, the Lids Off cradles a jar on its lower turntable then grips its lid when you lower the upper housing. Push the large power button, and—voila!—the lid is twisted free. Designed for use on metal or plastic lids, the opener makes a handy tool for anyone and can be especially helpful for those with weak hands or arthritis. The unit accommodates a wide range of jars, from baby food to spaghetti sauce, anything up to 4-1/2 inches in diameter and 8 inches high. It is not intended, however, for the very narrow necks of beer bottles or tall jars of juice. Measuring 8-1/2 by 7-3/4 by 10 inches, the Lids Off is collapsible for space-efficiency and comes with built-in power cord storage. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This was a great gift!
I bought this as a gift for someone with arthritis in their hands and it has helped them tremendously!Great buy!

1-0 out of 5 stars a big disappointment
I have arthritis in my hands, so opening jars is painful for me.We bought this as a Mother's Day gift, and it worked well about 4 times.Although it never did open large jars. Then it stopped working at all. It's bulky, takes up too much space in my kitchen -- all in all, a dead waste of time, energy, money, and space.A big, big disappointment.

5-0 out of 5 stars No more sore hands!
Sorry I didn't buy this jar opener sooner. It is so easy to use.I used it within minutes of its arrival.Bottles I was afraid to bring home from the store in the past for fear I would not be able to open them, no longer is the case.Love to show others how easy it is to use.My hands enjoy not being in pain due to trying to open jars.

5-0 out of 5 stars don't buy a rival type-low, med., high setting cooker
Having used and worn out a West Bend slow cooker that I received 30 years ago, I shopped locally for a new one, and, being unable to find one, bought a Rival 3 heat setting crock. Is is a crock, as you cannot slow cook at normal low heat levels, it cooks to hot and fast. Finally, located the cooker I want here, with the variable heat setting, and I'm back in business. Local stores are loaded with worthless cookers. If you really want to "slow cook", buy one of these West Bend cookers, there is nothing else like it that I've been able to find.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, a slow cooker that actually cooks slowly!
I read many reviews before I purchased this, as we have a Rival crockpot that cooks way too fast even on low. I discovered that many of the Rivals simply control the temperature by cooking on the high setting and turning off occasionally to let it cool for the "low" setting. The problem is that they don't always turn off long enough to slow the cooking.
5-0 out of 5 stars West Bend 84755 5-Quart Oblong Slow Cooker, White
Superb product. This is an newer model of a West Bend slow cooker that I had used for years to slow cook roasts. It is slightly larger than the older modeland is greatly improved by having a glass lid. It is my favorite cooking utensil.

3-0 out of 5 stars Worked great till it died....
We used the thing to death...literally. Used it daily. Loved it when it worked, but 6 months later the water tasted funny and the heating element started putting off this wretched smell that wouldn't leave the air. So we tossed it, and now we're on the search for another one. But finding one this size and as pretty isn't easy.

1-0 out of 5 stars Water Tastes Like Plastic & Filter is of Poor Design
On the plus side, the kettle boils water quickly, it's inexpensive, and the overall design is clever. Unfortunately, a couple of problems with this item may force me to abandon it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm boils water....but
I only gave this 2 stars because the filter keeps falling off and without it securely in place and the lid shut just right it doesn't turn off!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Lovin' it!
I really like the electric skillet. It cooks evenly and is easily cleaned. There are 7 of us in our family, and I use it to cook bacon and eggs, french toast, pancakes, fried potatoes, fried chicken and much more! It is the perfect size for those with large families. We also take it camping with us, and it great for grilled sandwiches, heating up tortillas, or just about anything. I hope it lasts a long, long time!

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Big
I love it but it is very big.It is too wide for the cupboard I intended on storing it in.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Skillet!
I have cooked with electric skillets for over 40 yrs, and I have to say this is the best skillet by far I have used. Its over sized and very deep. I noticed some are saying its for large families, but if you're frying something you don't want to crowd the food, or it steams instead of fries. Also, the non-stick surface is really top grade. I highly recommend this product. ... Read more

Great for a dorm room or office, this cordless kettle lets you enjoy tea, coffee, or even dried soups at any time and without a range. And it's detachable from its power base for convenient pouring. The unobtrusive power base shuts off when the kettle is removed from the platform, and the concealed heating element never comes into contact with the water, keeping it from tasting flat or scalded. Made from high-quality stainless steel, the mirror-finished kettle is attractive and rust-resistant, and its 36-inch cord can be hidden in the base, making for easy, cord-free storage. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars For Right-handers it is fine
This is my second electric tea kettle. My first, a Russell-Hobbs, was a great workhorse but it broke down after about 10 years of regular use--not bad.I wonder if this new kettle will meet that. The handle seems only lightly attached to the body--but I've had no problems yet. 5-0 out of 5 stars tea pot from heaven
This is the best tea pot you can own....just don't let your kids put it on the stove or you will find yourself searching the web for another one...

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent product.
I have been using this kettle at least 4 to 5 times DAILY for a little over three years with ZERO problems. It boils the water quickly, and the stainless surface has held up great.I was surprised to read other reviews where people reported the handle fell off!I carefully examined mine and it appears to be soldered on pretty well.I will keep an eye on it, but this has truly been a really great kettle for us so far. ... Tall enough to open a 7-inch-high can, this electric can opener is aspractical as it is stylish. 4-0 out of 5 stars Great for the price
In the process of replacing all of the small appliances in my kitchen, I decided to go with black or black/brushed metal for all of the new items, and I realized it was time for the 11-year-old white drugstore can opener to go. I recoiled at spending over $20 for a can opener, but I didn't want something that wasn't going to do the job; then I found this little beauty on clearance at my local grocery store. What a great product! It certainly fills the bill, in that it's black, and it opens cans! I haven't tried the knife sharpener yet, but this unit does a great job opening cans. It's much quieter than its predecessor, and I have had no problems whatsoever opening large, tall cans. It's true the cutting assembly does pop off a bit too easily, but to me, at this price point, it's also easily popped back on and forgiven. I'd buy this unit again in a second.

5-0 out of 5 stars great lil opener
Bought this opener because I was tired of trying to open tall cans with an average size electric opener. Not only does it open cans that are taller, but it does it with ease. Locks on can top, stays on through entire cycle. My last opener would often get half way through the can and miss spot before juming off track. Not this one! I am very pleased.

5-0 out of 5 stars Presto 07046 BigGriddle Cool-Touch Electric Griddle
Great griddle! Great size and design.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW-What an excellent deal for $40.00
Just preheat this griddle for about 5 minutes and it really does a GREAT job. (con)Directly in the center, there seems to be a cool spot but it's no problem to move the food around the surface a bit. I've had mine for a few months and use it 3 times a month for Sunday gatherings. It's so nice to be able to cook a larger volume of food at a faster pace. It means the cook gets to eat a little sooner, too :-).

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased
This is my first electric skillet. The first use it got was for bacon and eggs.I was amazed at how quickly it gets to the desired temp.Whats great about it is that there are no hot spots like you get when you have a big pan on the stove. After the bacon was done I turned it down and put the eggs in and they were cooked PERFECTLY and EVENLY.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great for a big family!
We have a large family and we use our electric skillet a lot.In the past we have purchased the cheaper versions from Wal-mart.They don't heat evenly, and we were constantly replacing them because the cheap plastic legs or handles would break. The Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet is AWESOME!!The cooking area is huge (we can cook 6 pancakes at a time easily) and the cooking surface heats up evenly. It is very heavy, so it doesn't scoot around on the counter.Nice metal handles an base.Glass lid is also very sturdy with a steam vent.It is very beautiful and functional. Because of the quality of the construction, I believe it will last our family for many years. I have not previously recommended any item online before, but I highly recommend this item! ... The opener thenwalks around the can on its own, shutting off automatically when thecan is open. A swing-out magnet lifts the lid free. 1-0 out of 5 stars wouldn't hold a charge
I loved it when I first got it.I charged it by the directions, and used it for all my cans with no problem. When it ran out of juice I recharged it according to the directions. The next day it wouldn't work.It had enough power to turn if I closed it by hand, but it wouldn't cut through a lid.I held it closed and ran it out and tried to charge it once again (that was from the troubleshooting guide).Still couldn't cut through a lid.It would run if I closed it by hand, but it never cut a lid again.I tossed it and bought a manual one that still works.

1-0 out of 5 stars Gizmo is hard to handle
My Gizmo is extremely hard to position, to get it started cutting. After 4 or 5 tries, I finally get it started - but it's very frustrating. Also, since it lacks a handle, it is hard to handle while trying to position it.
3-0 out of 5 stars Handy but clunky
The Gizmo works somewhat well, but can be hard to start on the lip of the can, and most of the time, when it's through, and U lift the arm to remove the can lid, the little arm w/the magnet wants to pop off. Slight bit of nusance. Also, unless it's always plugged in, resulting in an absolutely full charge, she will get a bit 'sleepy' after about the third can.Bought it for someone who has limited hand mobility, and she is unable (most of the time) to even load the Giz-no on to the lip. Resulting in me opening the can anyway, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. I rate this as an 'Okay' item. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Ideal for family cooking and entertaining, this beautiful 12-inch electric skillet is made of 18/10 stainless steel, so it retains its mirror-finish luster even after repeated trips through the dishwasher, where it's safe after the temperature control is removed. The control adjusts to temperatures ranging from 200 degrees F (for serving, say, pasta in four-cheese sauce at the table) to 400 degrees F (for browning and pan-roasting veal chops, for example). The skillet's lid is tempered glass, allowing easy monitoring of cooking progress. Two big handles facilitate carrying from the kitchen to the table, which makes the skillet a handsome serving piece. Sturdy feet lift it so counter and table surfaces are protected. The skillet has a two-year warranty against defects. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly easy to clean
I love this skillet! After 3 electric skillets with "non-stick" coatings we were totally upset. The coatings all scratched and peeled - the "best" one only lasted a year. I mentioned that my mother had had a stainless electric that lasted her lifetime and moaned "why can't I find one like that?" My hubby searched and found this one. We've had it only about a month and so far love it. We've been faithfully seasoning it after each use and it's been surprisingly easy to clean. As others mentioned, it is a bit shallow but it hasn't been a problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Top Grade!
Could not be happier- the stainless surface has been shown to be the best healthwise- better than the coated type which tends to wear off and possibly affect your health
